Drake – War
After a sort of light 2019 with only a couple of songs released, Drake is back with “War,” which is a part of a mixtape from manager Oliver El-Khatib. The song is angry and pissed off at someone, probably everyone. It’s also a snooze of the highest order.
Travis Scott – Highest In The Room

“Highest In The Room” is a part of Travis Scott’s “Jackboys,” a new project that features songs with Rosalia, Lil Baby, Migos, and more. The song is short but packs a strong punch, filled with Scott’s oddities and psychedelic rhythms that seep into your brain and make you wish you could start the song all over again.
Ed Sheeran & Ella Mai – Put It All On Me
Another year, another cheesy Ed Sheeran pop song. This time, not even the help of the great Ella Mai can save him. The intentions are good, with lyrics talking about love and companionship, and the music video reinforcing this by featuring “real” couples from different parts of the world. But it’s all so flat; Ed Sheeran has been making the same kind of music for years and will continue to do so forever because his songs make for the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon spent mindlessly shopping at Target.
