Apple plans to release new iPhones by late 2018, one of them being a cheaper version of the iPhone X. The new device will feature a larger screen and, for better or worse, will surely change the future of the company.
According to Forbes, this new version of the iPhone X will become the dominant device out of the three 2018 models of the iPhone. This downgrade of the iPhone X will feature a 6.1 inch screen and will look very much like the current smartphone. The device will also have a cheaper LCD screen than the ones used by the iPhone 8 and 7, which is a real bummer.

This model will likely replace the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, so it’ll become the phone that most people use. As for the second generation of the iPhone X, sources claim that there are few odds of that happening. Production of the iPhone X has been reduced during the past year due to poor sales.
The cancellation of the iPhone X makes it the first time that Apple has cancelled a phone on its first generation since the iPhone 5C in 2014.

Are these news surprising? Yes and no. Even though the iPhone X is a very promising phone, one that feels and looks like the future, Apple took a big gamble by placing a $1,000 price tag on it. According to Forbes, the nail in the coffin for the device was it’s small-ish screen. We’re all into big phones now, especially if you can have them for less than a thousand bucks.
