Since he dropped Views in April, Drake has been oddly low key for, well, Drake. No music videos have been released for the project and Drake has stayed out of the public eye, including Joe Budden’s jabs to lure Aubrey into a beef.

However, Drake took to Instagram Sunday evening to announce a new visual project titled PLEASE FORGIVE ME. It might be Drake’s most Drake-ish title yet. Always that strangely alluring mixture of vulnerable (admitting he’s at fault and apologizing) yet needy (FORGIVE ME IN ALL-CAPS LIKE NOW).[adsanity id=3107 align=aligncenter /]
You might mistake the two photos Drake posted to tease the project as stills from Nicolas Winding Refn’s Neon Demon, which came out a few months ago. I did, anyway. I also assume Drake would love that movie, as it features (spoiler alert) cannibalistic models fetishizing beauty and killing to maintain the power looks bestows. I kind of feel Drake’s made 12 songs about that already.

When did Drake have time to shoot this visual project? Who knows! Between supposedly recording separate collaboration albums with Kanye and Gucci Mane, and currently touring with Future for the Summer Sixteen tour, where’s the time? But multiple outlets have reported Drake shooting videos for “One Dance” and “Child’s Play” off Views over the past months and it seems likely they’ll factor into PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
In which case, we’re not sure exactly why he needs to be forgiven, but sure, what the hell.
