Meghan Markle Has Some Advice For Singles On Valentine’s Day

Back in 2015, before Meghan Markle met her prince, she had a lifestyle blog called The Tig. It was full of advice, recipes and general musings. It was also a place where she revealed a lot about her personal life, including how much she loves Valentine’s Day.

Her blog has since been retired, but The Mirror pulled an excerpt from a post where she reveals she’s “a sucker” for the romantic occasion, even when she’s single. She wrote:

I think you need to cook that beautiful dinner even when it’s just you, wear your favorite outfit, buy yourself some flowers, and celebrate the self-love that often gets muddled when we focus on what we don’t have.

So whether you have a special someone, you’ll be with friends, or you’ll be flying solo this Valentine’s Day (or any other day for that matter), be good to yourself.

Love yourself, treat yourself, honor yourself and celebrate you. Be your own beautiful, darling, cherished and funny Valentine. You deserve it.

She also says it’s important to celebrate “self love,” and that you shouldn’t wait around for someone else to do that for you.

“I’m not going to wait for someone to buy me the things I covet (nor do I want to).

“I want to treat myself as well as I treat those dearest to me. Because I am my own funny Valentine.”

This year, Markle will be spending Valentine’s Day alone, as Prince Harry is off performing one of his royal duties. Markle’s other half is in Norway visiting service members.
