Meghan Markle’s half sister Samantha Grant recently visited Kensington Palace, attempting to delivering a letter to Markle with the help of a male companion. And it went about as well as you’d expect.
The Daily Mirror reports that Grant was unable to gain entry to the palace, and that she instead spent the day nearby buying royal merchandise from nearby kiosks, including masks with Meghan and Prince Harry’s faces on them. Okay then. “This was a huge move on the part of Meghan’s sister to try to see her face-to-face and the fact she was turned away speaks volumes,” says a source.
While on her visit to the U.K., Grant gave an interview to TV personality Jeremy Vine, where she discussed her relationship with her sister and her feelings regarding the royal wedding. “I think everybody was hurt by not being included or invited to the wedding, but I felt as though it could have all been nipped in the bud had everyone been included and we all just agreed to move forward with positive resolve, and the hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed,” she said.
Grant has been engaging on a back and forth with the media since she realized that her half-sister was engaged to Harry. She has apologized over some of the comments she’s made in the past and has officially changed her last name from Grant to Markle.
While Kensington Palace is happy to pretend that everything is okay, Grant is trying her hardest to remain relevant in whatever way she can.
