If you’re having a bad day, the Shih Tzu will sit close, quiet and nuzzle you. It’s also a loyal, gentle and loving breed, making it the perfect companion for kids. These dogs much prefer cuddling on the couch watching TV to digging in the dirt or chasing squirrels. The average Shih Tzu weighs as much as 16 pounds and can reach a height of nearly a foot.
