State officials and cannabis legalization advocates reached a deal on Friday.

HB 371, which passed in a 13-7-1 vote, legalizes the possession of up to one ounce of marijuana for adults 21 or older.

Cannabis possession was the most recorded drug offense in England and Wales in 2021, as per a parliamentary report.

"We've been working so hard trying to stop the cultivators," she said. "You can't fight on that many fronts." 

Once passed, the bill would allow banks and financial institutions to accept business from cannabis companies that comply with state regulations.  

“I’m grateful for being able to give a second chance to these individuals who’ve worked hard to do just that," said Gov. Tony Evers.

Thailand residents will be permitted to legally cultivate “as many cannabis plants” as they wish in their own homes as of June 9.

While many states have legalized the recreational and medical use of cannabis, the approach and policies of each state differ.
