Kanye West was recently released from the UCLA Medical Center, where he spent nine days undergoing treatment. West was reportedly suffering from severe sleep deprivation and exhaustion, though an official diagnosis has yet to be announced.
While Kanye was released the hospital, it doesn’t mean he will be returning to his Calabasas home. People magazine is reporting that Kanye is living apart from wife Kim Kardashian and his two children, as he continues treatment for undisclosed mental illnesses.
“He is receiving outpatient care else with a medical team,” a source told People. “Kim still seems concerned but is supportive. They don’t know for how long Kanye will need outpatient care.”
Another source did tell “Entertainment Tonight” that “Kim is more dedicated and devoted to Kanye more than ever.”
However People also reported that Kanye’s children, North and Saint, did not accompany Kim to visit their father while he was in the hospital. As the insider told them, “She is very worried about the kids being around Kanye.”
Reports indicate that Kanye West was sent to the hospital by his personal physician, following a week of erratic behavior and comments. This included unexpected criticisms of Jay Z and Beyoncé, which was met with swift backlash.
It led to Kanye cutting his Sacramento concert short following an outburst of his political views and canceling the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour. When it was announced that Kanye was in the hospital, many celebrities and supporters expressed their best wishes for Kanye, hoping he heals soon.
