Louis C.K. probably needs to hire a new crisis management firm at this point. Following his admission of sexual misconduct in 2017, C.K. vowed to reflect and reassess his role in committing these acts and the unequal power dynamics at play. While quiet for several months after his admission, everything C.K. does seems embroiled in controversy. From dropping into random sets at the legendary Manhattan comedy club, the Comedy Cellar, to recent jokes about the Parkland shooting survivors and transgender pronouns that recently surfaced online.
Well, Pete Davidson, everyone’s favorite stoner comedian, heard about C.K.’s set and was none too pleased. Davidson fired back during “a killer stand-up performance at Boston’s Chevalier Theatre,” as US Weekly describes, on New Year’s Eve.

“I got a ‘Harry Potter’ tattoo,” Davidson said. “Then the next day Alan Rickman, the guy who played Snape, died and I was like, ‘Oh, what a weird coincidence.’ Then I got a Willy Wonka tattoo. Next day — Gene Wilder dies. Now I’m like, all right, that’s a coincidence, that’s weird. So I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Louis C.K., what do you guys think? That joke used to be about Aziz Ansari, but Aziz has been nice to me recently.”
Davidson then revealed that when he was trying out for “Saturday Night Live”, Louis C.K. warned producers against hiring because he smoked marijuana. When C.K. hosted SNL for the fourth time in April 2017, which was during Davidson’s first year on the show, he “told all the producers in front of me that all this kid does is smoke weed and he’s gonna smoke his career away,” said Davidson.

Davidson added that C.K. told Lorne Michaels, SNL’s showrunner and executive producer, “that Pete smokes so much weed that it makes people uncomfortable.”
“Then five years later this motherfucker’s been locking doors and jerking off in front of people,” Davidson concluded.
Regardless, it doesn’t appear that SNL hates marijuana quite like Louis C.K. apparently does. Considering drugs have been an integral ingredient in SNL from its origins, especially cannabis, we can’t say we’re surprised.
