Normally, we wouldn’t consider this news. But when it’s April and the rap trio that loves to rap about weed gets caught with exactly 420 grams of marijuana on their tour bus, it’s not not news.
Police raided the Migos tour bus following a concert last week in North Carolina. According to police, officers working security smelled weed wafting from the bus when the group left the Holmes Convocation Center, where they were performing. After stopping the vehicle on the highway, police searched the bus and seized 420 grams of weed, 26 ounces of codeine and Xanax.
An ironic happenstance, though the rest of the charges are serious.
Jharon Ahmad Murphy was arrested and charged with a felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and a misdemeanor charge for codeine. Daryl Irvon McPherson was cited for simple possession of marijuana and codeine, while Dominic Kevin Spigner received a citation for misdemeanor possession of Xanax.
It isn’t exactly clear how Migos members Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff evaded charges, but their tour continues, regardless.

This isn’t the first time the group has experienced a run-in with authorities. During the past few years, the Migos have faced a multitude of criminal charges regarding drugs, firearms, fights, and misdemeanors. In March, the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany filed a lawsuit against the group for allegedly inciting a riot back in 2015.
