This Stray Dog Is Welcomed As Monastery’s Cutest New Friar

The Franciscan monastery of Cochabamba, Bolivia recently announced their newest member named Carmelo. This is of special significance because Carmelo is an adorable, furry pup. After joining the sacred group, Carmelo earned a new name. Now they call him Friar Bigotón, which is Spanish for “mustache.”

According to the Dodo, Friar Bigotón previously lived as a stray until the monastery took him in. Not only is he happier running around and playing, Friar Bigotón has important duties as well.

“[Here’s] Brother Carmelo preaching to the fish,” wrote Franciscan Kasper Mariusz KaproÅ„ on Facebook.
