This Week’s Music: Sleater-Kinney, Rosalia And Camila Cabello

This Week’s Music is a weekly column that discusses the week’s best, worst, and most interesting songs. We try to select songs of different artists and genres to keep things interesting and to please a variety of music fans.

This week’s column features Sleater-Kinney’s collaboration with St. Vincent, Rosalia’s last single and Camila Cabello’s new pop anthem. Have a listen!

Rock

Sleater-Kinney – Hurry On Home

“Hurry on Home” is Sleater-Kinney’s much awaited new song. In January, the band broke the internet when front-woman Carrie Brownstein uploaded a photo with St. Vincent in the recording studio, prompting many fans to wonder what their collaboration would sound like. St. Vincent’s influence is clear on “Hurry on Home,” an electric undercurrent that gives the song an angry and ethereal edge, backed by some amazingly frank lyrics that explain why Sleater-Kinney is one of the most unique and unrepentantly female bands in the world.

Pop

Rosalia – Aute Cuture

Rosalia hasn’t stopped releasing amazing songs since the release of her groundbreaking album at the end of last year. “Aute Cuture” is her last song, and it’s one of her weirdest and most fun singles, a short injection of adrenaline that ends as fast as it begins. Released along with a Quentin Tarantino-esque music video, Rosalia continues to prove how singular of a performer she is. Her unprecedented rise shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

Mark Ronson and Camila Cabello – Find U Again

“Late Night Feelings,” Mark Ronson’s upcoming album, adds another amazing song into the mix, this time featuring the talents of Camila Cabello and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. Cabello brings her distinctive and emotional style to “Find U Again,” which she had a hand in writing, and Ronson transforms the song into an anthem that manages to be sad, catchy and extremely fun. While “Late Night Feelings” promises many interesting collaborations, “Find U Again” will be hard to beat.
