If you’re reading this, you’re probably not at Burning Man. If you’re at Burning Man, you’re reading this through giant steampunk goggles, because wow the sand is everywhere. You’ve spent ~$400, plus costumes and mushrooms/weed/ecstasy/choose your favorite substance, to spend a week in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada and consider what “community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance” mean.
Either way, you can watch the livestream of the playa for the next few days, right here. As of this writing, the feed looks like a very chilled-out Mad Max set, where people bike lazily in and out of the gray dust clouds. Take a look for yourself; maybe it’s settled by now, and you’ll be able to spot a figure on stilts wearing nothing but a keffiyeh, some nose jewelry and goat horns. Enjoy!
