The report stated that in 2020, the US hemp-derived CBD market is projected to reach 14% growth from 2019 sales, down from original projections of over 30%.
"It certainly could be a help. It could augment the shortfall. But I don't believe it's anywhere near a singular solution," said GOP Speaker Dennis Bonnen.
Instead of appearing in back-alley bodegas, hemp is a full-blown mainstream commodity, with products sold at major national retailers and pharmacy chains.
