"This bill does not go nearly far enough for cannabis reform or adequately address the harms of cannabis prohibition in Wisconsin," said Sen. Melissa Agard.
Many Republicans are opposed to legalizing cannabis, which poses one of the biggest hurdles to Schumer getting his bill through the 50-50 split Senate.
Kelly noted that the bill should make operations easier for cannabis businesses in states that have legalized the plant, but stopped short of endorsing it.
