That Time Duchess Kate Stopped At A Random Pub To Use The Toilet

When you’re a mum and your little girl has to use the potty, you find the closest one possible. In the case of Kate Middleton, it was the toilet at The Phoenix pub in south London.

According to the Daily Mail, Duchess Kate ducked into the bar when three-year-old Charlotte found herself having to use the toilet.

“It just goes to show that the royals are like any other family. When your kid needs to go to the loo, they got to go!” one patron told the publication.

Princess Charlotte was reportedly wearing black shoes, white tights, a white blouse, blue skirt, and light-blue coat. Blue is her signature color, after all.

Kate was dressed casually in blue culottes and a matching long-sleeve top.

According to patrons, a plain-clothed female detective from the Royal Protection Squad cleared the area before Kate and Charlotte entered to make sure they were safe.

Pub regular Maggie McKinney told the Daily Mail:

I was sitting in my usual chair and when I looked up I saw Kate Middleton, I mean the Duchess of Cambridge and her daughter Princess Charlotte.

She said Charlotte just “trotted in” with her mom, used the toilet and then trotted back out. “They could not have been in the pub for more than ten minutes,” she added.

“Someone went up to the bar and asked if the wee girl could go to the toilet and then in they came.

‘They seem very nice, totally normal. Princess Kate was holding her daughter’s hand. Princess Charlotte was just any other little girl.”
