A Florida Man Arrested For Trying To Impersonate A Nickelback Drummer

Only in Florida would someone try and pretend to be a member of Nickelback. That was the case when a Florida Man allegedly posed as Daniel Adair to purchase nearly $25,000 worth of drum microphones.

The man in question is named Lee Howard Koenig, 45, and was arrested under two felony charges.

Adair was contacted by Nickelback’s business representative of the substantial purchase. It was then that authorities determined that the email used to purchase the equipment was not Adair and came from a Port St. Lucie IP address.

As the affidavit, which PEOPLE attained, hilariously states, “It was also noted that Daniel Adair does not live in Florida.”

Via PEOPLE:

Police executed a search warrant at Koenig’s residence Tuesday. After initially speaking to authorities at the scene, Koenig requested a lawyer when questioned about any additional musicians or groups he may have impersonated in the past.

The one lesson in all this: Even though very few want to hear their music, some people still want to be in Nickelback. Or maybe it’s just a Florida thing.
