Prince Harry’s bride knows a lot of famous types, having grown up in Los Angeles, where she enjoyed a pretty great career as an actress. Now Meghan Markle’s friends must follow this one rule. But when it comes to her private life as a Royal, mums got to be the word, or else you’re out of her and Harry’s inner circle.
A top royal source reveals to Vanity Fair that the couple enforce this strict rule to keep their friends from talking to the press. It began last year before the couple got married, when all that drama went down with Markle and her family.

The source tells Vanity Fair, “They both expect a code of silence. If you talk to the press you’re out. Harry didn’t used to care that much about what was written (in the press), he just said it was a load of shite, but he’s very protective of Meghan and defensive these days.”
According to royal editor Camilla Tominey, Harry has built “an emotional fortress” around himself and Meghan, telling Vanity Fair that the royals value loyalty more than anything else. “The princes are both very private people and have tried their best to keep the press at bay ever since their mother’s death. They are extremely protective of their wives and families and will do anything to avoid a repeat of the 80s and 90s when they felt that Princess Diana was hounded.”

But trying to silence their friends is not as easy for the couple as you might think. Their inner circle consists of some pretty well known celebs, many of whom have a large social media following.
As the Daily Express points out, Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney posted an intimate photo of the Duchess on her Instagram page last year to her nearly 230K followers. The black-and-white photo of the two friends sitting on a terrace was captioned: “My favorite birthday girl”, and was quickly deleted.
