Comedian Rita Rudner once pondered if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult. That’s because they’re often groomed spectacularly eccentric. If not in a cult, these poodles are surely doing something different, especially those in the dog shows groomed with what is called the “Continental Clip“.

The poodle comes in three varieties: Toy poodles are the smallest, followed by miniature poodles and standard poodles, which are the tallest. While often stereotyped as a “sissy”, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Poodles are amazingly smart, easily trained and incredibly athletic. There is nothing cowardly about this breed.
