As The Mirror reports, two prominent male members of the Royal Family have opted out of the band-wearing brigade: Prince Philip, who has been married to Queen Elizabeth for more than 70 years, and Prince William, who decided he just didn’t want to, when he married Kate Middleton in 2011.
Prince Charles, on the other hand, has worn wedding rings during both of his marriages (to Princess Diana and Camilla).
A spokesman tells The Mirror that to ring or not to ring is “simply down to personal preference.”
Now, about the female members of the Royal Family. It’s customary for them to wear rings and it’s likely Meghan Markle will follow Suits (pun intended!).
Kate Middleton wears a gold band next to her engagement ring, which once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
But if neither Harry nor Meghan decide to sport a wedding ring, it should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody; the two have thwarted royal protocol since day one.
