This Is The #1 Movie Americans Watch On Halloween

As you get ready to queue up some of your favorite horror flicks , you might be interested to know that the movie most Americans watch on Halloween isn’t even scary. Like, at all. In fact, it’s super campy.

It stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. And as terrifying as the Sex and the City movies were, it’s none of those.

According to streaming service FandangoNow (by way of Business Insider), which surveyed more than a thousand people about the movies they’re most likely to watch on Wednesday, they found that the 25-year-old movie Hocus Pocus was the top choice, garnering 96 percent of the votes. That’s almost everyone. How is this possible when newer flicks like The Haunting of Hill House, Veronica, and Hush are all the rage on Netflix?

Before you stamp a big “COWARD” on the foreheads of humanity, here are the 4 other films those surveyed gravitate towards on Halloween.

5. “Halloween” (1978)

4. “It” (2017)

3. “Beetlejuice” (1988)

2. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993)

1. “Hocus Pocus” (1993)
