Every big studio in Hollywood is trying to get their hands on whatever video game, novel or comic book they can, just so they can create a cinematic universe of their own. From the Avengers, to Pokemon, to whatever you can think of, studios are squeezing the juice out of everything they can in order to make a halfway decent movie that makes them a lot of money.
Sonic The Hedgehog is next. Initially a video game character with super speed and not a whole lot of plot or backstory, Sonic’s movie will be produced by Paramount Studios and will star Ben Schwartz as the voice of the eponymous hedgehog, and Jim Carrey as the evil doctor Ivo Robotnik. That all looks good on paper. What doesn’t look good is Sonic’s muscled and hairy legs.

Paramount’s movie poster finally gives viewers an image of what they’re in for, which is a “humanized” Sonic who wears bright red sneakers and has powerful runner’s thighs. That makes sense: if you run a lot you have muscles. The thing is that when you see a cute blue cartoon in a video game, it doesn’t mean that once it’s brought out into the real world it’ll look good. To be honest, Sonic just looks kind of gross.

Sonic The Hedgehog is set for release in winter 2019, leaving us a lot of time to imagine and speculate on how terrifying Sonic’s face will look when it finally hits theaters.
