How To Avoid Post Intimacy Cramps

Few things can bum you out more than getting a cramp after having intimacy. These muscle pains are very common and can be caused by a lot of things ranging from orgasms, your period, or a reaction to your partner’s semen. Here is how to avoid post intimacy cramps.

An occasional cramp is nothing to worry about since it’s a common issue which won’t disturb you much. The real problem occurs when cramps and stomach pains are a recurring part of your sex life, affecting the way you approach sex all together. These types of cramps can also be a symptom of a larger issue, like endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and more.

If you’re affected by cramps on a regular basis during sex and random times of the day, it’s best to consult a doctor and check if they aren’t a symptom of an underlying issue.

You can also take some ibuprofen before you have sex, preparing your body in order to avoid the pain. Alyse Kelly-Jones, OB-GYN from North Carolina, recommends taking 800mg.

Heating pads or hot baths

If you get cramps, a hot bath can also help you relax and make you feel better. Deep breathing and relaxation exercises are also recommended in order to relax your muscles and help you get rid of the stomach cramps.

If they continue, you should reach out to medical professional and figure a path.
