This past Wednesday, Facebook experienced a worldwide outage that lasted over eight hours. Of course, panic ensued, because when Facebook is down, so are all of the company’s apps, including Instagram, WhatsApp and dozens of others that we’re probably not even aware of.
With nowhere else to go, users turned to Twitter, where they complained about Facebook and about how tough everything is when you don’t have the digital world to distract you from real life.
The hashtags #Instagramdown and #Facebookdown were trending for hours and hundreds of hilarious memes were born, ranging from the imaginary meltdown of influencers, to Facebook techs being completely unable to handle their servers. Check out some of our favorites:
