Dogs Of Instagram: Scottish Terrier

This week’s dogs of Instagram: Scottish Terrier.  They are an independent, confident and dignified breed with human-like characteristics. Territorial and feisty, the Scottie makes a great watchdog and is known to be incredibly loyal to its family. Its notable beard, lower body and legs make the breed instantly recognizable. The bold Scottie has coats of black, brindle, or wheaten yellow.

Other than the German Shepherd, the Scottish Terrier is the only breed to have lived in the White House three times. Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Scottie, Fala, is immortalized at his owner’s monument, situated right next to his side. George W. Bush had two Scottie’s at the White House, Barney and Miss Beazley. Other notables with Scottish Terriers include Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jackie O and Queen Victoria.

Here we pay homage to five of the most famous Scottish Terriers found on Instagram.
