Tips To Ensure Your Sexts And Photos Stay Private

Nudes and sexts have been adopted into our culture and there’s no going back. Arguments about the dangers of the Cloud and how nudes are degrading for those who are sharing them are silly and outdated. According to a survey conducted with over 800 people, 88% of them had sexted at some point in their lives.

While the cloud is a real threat that most people don’t understand, our discussions regarding nudes and sexts should focus more on how this data is shared and in finding ways of preventing the unintended spread of them. Shaming people will get us nowhere.

The risks that come with sharing delicate information online are undeniable, especially when it comes to people who are underage, but there are ways in which the risk factor can be reduced. Here are a few tips that can help:

Prioritize consent

Before you engage in any kind of online sexual exchange, make sure that you want to do it and that the person you’re talking to is also excited to be participating. It sounds like an obvious thing to mention, but you can never be to careful when it comes to sexual harassment. Also, no matter how common sexting and the exchange of nudes are, you should never feel pressured into participating.

Be responsible

When sexting and sending nudes make sure to use a safe Wi-Fi network. It’s not a good idea to send risqué stuff, no matter what it is, in a Starbucks. These messages can be easily intercepted by hackers or anyone with some knowledge of technology. Make sure to use an app that contains end to end encryption, like WhatsApp, which protects your information  – texts and photos – and makes it impossible to access, even by those who work in the company.

Delete the evidence

Once you send the photo, delete it or store it in an app that’s protected by a password and prevents the photos from being easily accessed. While someone else could have access to your photo from another device, no one will be able to see it from your phone.

If you don’t want to delete the images, make sure that your phone is not connected to the Cloud, that way you’ll prevent the images from popping up on family devices.

Be safe

If you want your nudes to be completely full proof, avoid including identifying details like your face, a beauty mark, or a tattoo. Aim for the neck down and make sure the background is also hard to identify, without including picture frames or remarkable objects.

While this is information is much more advanced, metadata is something you should also account for. The majority of digital images have a GPS tag and the date and time in which the photo was taken. In order to get rid of this, you can disable your smartphone camera from keeping that information or you can use an app like ViewExif which removes the metadata from photos.

VIDEO: How To Recognize Cannabis Use Disorder And Marijuana Addiction

This week, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed legislation that made possession and sale of marijuana legal for adult use. In doing so, Pritzker caused Illinois to become the 11th state in the country to legalize recreational cannabis. And what’s important to remember as cannabis becomes more widely available than ever before, especially those who’ve been in the cannabis community for decades now, is that plenty of people are becoming users and/or consistent consumers for the first time.

As the GrowthOp breaks down in their latest video, 30% of users develop some form of Cannabis Use Disorder. Generally speaking, Cannabis Use Disorder is when someone is dependent upon marijuana and feels some withdrawal symptoms when quitting. In some cases this can become full-blown addiction.

Prince Philip’s Stern Warning To Prince William

Just when you think you’ve heard all there is to hear about Kate and William’s courtship, more has comes out about Prince Phillips stern warning to Prince William.  His grandfather basically told him to get his s**t together after dumping Kate for the second time.

While the now married couple was dating in college, they had their issues and were off-and-on with their relationship, as many young people are prone to do. When you’re the future King, you have to be picky. Rushing into a romance with someone you have lukewarm feelings for is not the smartest move, and evidently, William was hyper aware of this.

According to royal correspondent Camilla Tominey, William was feeling “claustrophobic” in his relationship with Kate, but even so, their final split in 2007 only lasted a few months before William realized he couldn’t live without Kate.

But before they got back together, at least one member of the royal family piped up about William playing “fast and loose.”

In a 2007 Sunday Express story, Tominey revealed that Prince Philip intervened in the young couple’s relationship.

Tominey says after William complained to his grandparents that he wasn’t sure about his feelings for Kate, the Duke of Edinburgh reportedly warned his grandson that he was playing with fire.

Tominey quotes a royal source as saying: “After they split up, William confided to his grandparents that he was not sure if he loved Kate enough.”

The Queen reportedly wanted William to do the right thing by either marrying her or letting her go.

“She would rather they broke up for good now than get married only to have it end in divorce if five years’ time,” wrote Tominey, adding, “Prince Philip has told William he cannot keep stringing along Kate for ever.”

William proposed to Kate in 2010, one year before they got married and 7 years after they started dating.

John Stamos Breaks Silence On Lori Loughlin And More

In this week’s gossip round up, John Stamos breaks silence on Lori Loughlin and more!

John Stamos breaks silence on Lori Loughlin being written out of ‘Fuller House’

Via Fox News:

John Stamos broke his silence on his “Fuller House” co-star Lori Loughlin’s exit from the show after being implicated in the ongoing college admissions scandal.

Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded not guilty to money laundering and mail fraud charges after being accused of allegedly bribing their daughters’ way into USC. The star was fired from her Hallmark series “When Calls the Heart” and will not return for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s “Fuller House” either.

Stamos has been tight-lipped about his on-screen wife’s struggles over the past months but finally addressed her firing from the “Full House” spinoff series while discussing its return.

“I haven’t been on the show yet and it hasn’t come up, so I’m going to talk to some people about it this week and see what’s going on,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m just going to wait a little longer before I talk about it. It’s a difficult situation for everyone involved. I don’t mean just on our side.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Snubbed By Chris Pratt And His Wife

Chris Pratt’s small intimate wedding to Katherine Schwarzenegger has left several big Hollywood celebrities feeling snubbed – including Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Chris and Katherine made the choice to do a small wedding. They have the money to throw a massive wedding filled with all their celebrity friends, but decided, as a couple, to just invite their ‘real’ pals, not famous people they know. Which has resulted in a lot of stars feeling left out,” sources tell STRAIGHT SHUTER. “Gwyneth would have dropped everything to attend if she had been invited, but she wasn’t. Several other big stars assumed they would be invited too, including Chris’ pals from ‘The Avengers’ franchise. They all talk about being a family while on set filming together, however, I guess that isn’t the case when it comes to real life.”

Cash Is Definitely Dirty!

We live in a less than clean world. Wherever we go, we are among microbes. Bacteria, fungi and viruses live on our phones, bus seats, door handles and park benches. We pass these tiny organisms to each other when we share a handshake or a seat on the plane. And cash is definitely dirty!

Now, researchers are finding we also share our microbes through our money. From tip jars to vending machines to the meter maid – each dollar, passed person to person, samples a bit of the environment it comes from, and passes those bits to the next person, the next place it goes.

The list of things found on our dollars includes DNA from our pets, traces of drugs, and bacteria and viruses that cause disease.

The findings demonstrate how money can silently record human activities, leaving behind so-called “molecular echoes.”

What’s on a dollar bill?

Last April, a study identified over a hundred different strains of bacteria on dollar bills circulating in New York City. Some of the most common bugs on our bills included Propionibacterium acnes, a bacteria known to cause acne, and Streptococcus oralis, a common bacteria found in our mouths.

The research team, led by biologist Jane Carlton at New York University, also discovered traces of DNA from domestic animals and from specific bacteria that are associated only with certain foods.

RELATED: Why iPads At Restaurants Are The Most Disgusting Things Ever

A similar study recovered traces of DNA on ATM keypads, reflecting the foods people ate in different neighborhoods. People in central Harlem ate more domestic chicken than those in Flushing and Chinatown, who ate more species of bony fish and mollusks. The foods people ate transferred from fingers to touchscreens, where scientists could recover a bit of their most recent meals.

We don’t leave only food behind. Traces of cocaine can be found on almost 80 percent of dollar bills. Other drugs, including morphine, heroin, methamphetamine and amphetamine, can also be found on bills, though less commonly than cocaine.

Identifying foods people eat or the drugs people use based on interactions with money might not seem all that useful, but scientists are also using these types of data to understand patterns of disease. Most of the microbes the researchers in New York identified do not cause disease. But other studies have suggested that disease-causing strains of bacteria or virus could be passed along with our currency.

Not shown: DNA, drugs, bacteria. 401kcalculator.org, CC BY-SA

Bacteria that cause food-borne illness – including Salmonella and a pathogenic strain of E.coli – have been shown to survive on pennies, nickels and dimes and can hide out on ATM machines. Other bacteria, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) which causes skin infections, are found on bank notes in the U.S. and Canada, but the extent to which they could spread infections is unknown.

Try as we may to avoid exposure to germs, they travel with us and on us. Even if disease-causing microbes can survive in places like ATMs, the good news is that most exposures don’t make us sick.

Money laundering

Disease transmission linked to money is rare, and no major disease outbreaks have started from our ATMs. Although it doesn’t seem common for diseases to transmit through money, there are ways we could make our money cleaner.

Researchers are working on ways to clean money between transactions. Putting older bills through a machine that exposes them to carbon dioxide at a specific temperature and pressure can strip dollar bills of oils and dirt left behind by human fingers, while the heat kills microbes that would otherwise linger.

U.S. money is still made from a blend of cotton and linen, which has been shown to have higher bacterial growth than plastic polymers. Several countries are transitioning from money made of natural fibers to plastic, which may be less friendly to bacteria. Canada has had plastic money since 2013, and the U.K. transitioned to a plastic-based bank note last year.

Even if our money is not directly responsible for spreading disease, we can still use the dollar’s travel history to track how we spread disease in other ways. The website WheresGeorge.com, created in 1998, lets users track dollar bills by recording their serial numbers. In the almost 20 years since the site’s creation, WheresGeorge has tracked the geographic locations of bills totaling over a billion dollars.

Now, physicists at the Max Planck Institute and University of California, Santa Barbara are using data from the WheresGeorge site to track epidemics. Information on human movement and contact rates from WheresGeorge was even used to predict the spread of the 2009 swine flu.

Although we don’t know the extent to which money allows diseases to spread, mom’s advice is probably best when handling cash: Wash your hands and don’t stick it in your mouth. The Conversation

Alison Brie Says CBD Helps Her Muscle Pain And Soreness

Alison Brie says CBD helps her muscle pain and soreness. Know for “Community” and “GLOW,” she is among the celebrities who use CBD and stands out since she uses the compound for reasons other than treating anxiety. She claims it is what helps her cope with her sore muscles, especially now that she’s part of a show that demands a lot of stunt work and physical effort.

RELATED: Willie Nelson Just Invented The Best Job At His Marijuana Company

“I’ve been using CBD products for muscle soreness for years, especially since working on ‘Glow’ and having an added level of muscle soreness, given all the wrestling and stunt work we do,” she said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

Brie’s work on “Glow” requires her to train for a period of three weeks prior to the shoot of every season of the show. On these weeks she trains around three hours a day with a personal trainer, who prepares her in order to prevent injuries and to make the stunts look as realistic as possible.

Brie explains that she learned about CBD and its therapeutic effects because of the set medic, who’d recommend CBD topical creams to all stars. She found the smell too strong to her liking, claiming that it also tended to go all over her clothes. “I remember coming into the hair and makeup trailer one day and I was like, ‘Is someone smoking weed?’ And they were like, ‘No, it’s this cream,'” she said.

After doing some research she found a brand of CBD oil that worked for her and that could be ingested orally, preventing the smell and allowing her to obtain the results she desired. “‘Glow’ is such an intense show and especially when we’re working so physically until late in the evening, I sometimes have a hard time shutting my brain off to have a restful night’s sleep,” she explains. “So CBD has been a really great part of my health regimen these days.”

Meghan And Harry Reveal Details About Wedding

If you’re an avid royals watcher, you likely already know that that Meghan Markle and Prince Harrys’ wedding attire is on display at Holyroodhouse in Scotland (where the couple is referred to as the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton). But what you may not know is that there is an audio portion of the exhibit, personally narrated by Megs and Harry, that reveals some behind-the-scenes tidbits of their Big Day. Yes, Meghan and Harry reveal details about the wedding!

Meghans says because the wedding itself was enormous (about 600 guests were present for the nuptials at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018), she and Harry did what they could to make it feel more intimate, saying:

“A great level of detail went into the planning of our wedding day.We knew how large the scale of the event would be, so in making choices that were really personal and meaningful, it could make the whole experience feel intimate.”

The Household Cavalry uniform created by Dege & Skinner that Harry wore is also on display. In the recording, he says he got permission from The Queen before choosing to wear it.

“I chose the frock coat as a uniform, with permission from my grandmother, because I think it’s one of the smartest Household Cavalry uniforms. It’s one of my favorites, and I was very fortunate to be able to wear that on the day.”

Princess Charlotte’s and Prince George’s outfits are also on display. Of note, the soles of Charlotte’s shoes are embroidered with her initials and the wedding date. Says Harry, “We had 10 bridesmaids and page boys under the age of 7, which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it!” Meghan agreed, saying, “It was a miracle!”

Bill Maher Let Marijuana Decide The Best 2020 Presidential Candidate

Like many concerned voters out there, comedian and political pundit Bill Maher is worried about the 2020 Election. Since Donald Trump’s unexpected victory over Hilary Clinton in 2016, more liberal-minded Americans have wondered just who could defeat Trump in his re-election campaign. To solve that query, Maher did not consult analytics, poli-sci professors, or even run a poll on Twitter. Instead Maher sought answers in good ol’ marijuana.

What Maher realized high as kite was that he didn’t actually believe in any of the current Democratic candidates. He needed someone new, someone he could really stand behind.

“When I look at the list, there’s lot of people I like. But are any of them a sure thing? No,” Maher said during his program last Friday.

RELATED: Bill Maher: Democrats Should Represent Weed Like Republicans Tout Guns

“But then one night I was self-medicating,” Maher continued. “A name appeared in the vapor above me. The only person who is a sure thing is Oprah Winfrey.”

Never mind the fact that Oprah has unequivocally stated that she doesn’t want to run for president. A small detail in Maher’s mind. Because looking at the upcoming election, he views no other “sure” way for Democrats to succeed.

“I know some voters don’t want a celebrity president, but face it, that rule went out the window in 1980 when Bonzo’s co-star got elected,” Maher said. “It’s not the way it’s supposed to be, it’s not the way I’d like it to be, but we officially live in a post-literate, post-truth, starf**ker society and this is gonna be the dirtiest campaign ever.”

Are We Growing Horns Because Of This

Here’s something pretty unbelievable, or is it? Researchers have found that a small horn is growing more and more common in younger generations, sprouting from the base of their necks and is, at times, so pronounced that it can be seen and felt through the skin.

RELATED: Survey: Parents And Their Children Are Equally Addicted To Smartphones

This report, published by the BBC, was conducted by Dr. David Shahur of the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. He’d been practicing medicine for over 20 years when he first noticed the growth and started to document it.  “Only in the last decade, increasingly I have been discovering that my patients have this growth on the skull,” he said.

These spikes, which are officially called “external occipital protuberance,” are said to be formed due to the bent-neck position that most cellphone users take when using their devices over long periods of time, putting an extra pressure at the point where the neck muscles meet the skull. The new growth is the body’s way of trying to redistribute the weight of the person’s head.

According to a study conducted on 2016 where over 200 radiographs were analyzed, around 41 percent of people have growths. The patients inspected were between the ages of 18 – 30, and the majority of them were males, with one man having a spike that measured 1.4 inches.

RELATED: NASA Astronauts Are Plagued By Herpes, Says Study

Last year, Dr. Shahur broadened his study to include members of older generations and found that the issue was more prevalent in younger people, proving the theory that smartphones have a direct effect on how our bodies are shaped.

While the spikes don’t need any treatment, if we don’t change and improve our postures, they might be here to stay. “If no one is bothering them, they will just keep growing,” says the doctor.

Medical Marijuana Patients Can Be Busted For Stoned Driving

Marijuana is now legal in more than 30 states for medicinal purposes, giving patients with a variety of debilitating conditions the freedom to use it as a way to improve their lives. But one of the most common misconceptions is that being a medical marijuana cardholder provides a certain level of protection if a police officer happens to suspect that a patient is driving impaired. It doesn’t. In many cases, even if a patient isn’t actually high while they are behind the wheel, law enforcement can still find ways to drag them to jail and file charges for this offense. So yes, medical marijuana patients can be busted for stoned driving.

Police departments have what is known as drug recognition experts (DRE) that are trained to detect when a motorist is impaired. These officers are supposedly proficient in determining when a motorist is under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Identifying these culprits typically involves a 12-step DRE protocol, which can include a breath test, eye examination, analysis of vital signs, and just observing the behavior of the driver. Right now, the same sobriety testing methods used to detect alcohol impairment are being used to catch people on marijuana.

RELATED: The Number Of People Who Get Behind The Wheel After Smoking Weed Will Surprise You

“I think what a lot of people don’t understand is impairment is impairment, whether it is from alcohol, marijuana or other drugs and, if they have a prescription or medical marijuana card, if a person is behind the wheel, they are still dangerous,” saidKevin Behrens, the director for the Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence, in an interview with KFOR Oklahoma News 4.

The problem with roadside drug testing for marijuana is they do not distinguish between who is high right now and who was high last night. Because of how marijuana metabolizes in the body, THC can show up in a person’s system up to a month after their last use. This can be problematic for regular users.

But there is no effective breathalyzer on the market that can tell the difference between the two situations. This means as long as THC is present in a person’s system – this can be found through saliva and blood tests — police can, in most cases, charge a motorist for driving under the influence.

RELATED: Marijuana And Impaired Driving: This Study May Surprise You

Unfortunately, holding a state-issued medical marijuana card doesn’t provide patients with any kind of defense.

But since there is no way to determine beyond doubt whether a person was driving high or not, legal expert say it can be tough for the prosecution to land a conviction – as long as the suspect fights the charge.

“It is difficult for the DA’s, as well as the police, to prosecute these cases because of the fact that the marijuana — you don’t know when it’s been smoked, as opposed to somebody with alcohol in their system,” California defense attorney Robert Shatzco saidin a 2018 interview with KRON4. In the marijuana situation,” he continued, “we don’t know whether or not the person has ingested the marijuana recently or as far away as 30 days.”

Several years ago, a report from CBS News suggested that the majority of marijuana impairment cases were being acquitted because the law was not strong enough to hold users accountable.

So, if you ever find yourself in the position of being charged with high driving, the most important thing to remember is to deny and fight the charges. Find an attorney that specializes in these types of cases and keep his or her number close. You never know when a routine traffic stop will escalate.
