Sex Bots That Will Really Care About You Are Coming In The Spring

Sex bots aren’t new to this weird, wonderful world. We’ve long wondered whether robotic lovers would bone too hard for humans, and raised our eyebrows damn near off our heads at the words of a man with a bionic penis: “I would definitely date a sex robot—if I was single at the time.”

But humanoid sex dolls that can express realistic emotion now have a due date: Robotic sex doll maker Realbotix announced that they’re launching their first line of dolls that they claim can offer a real “connection.”

Robotics developer at Realbotix Matt McMullen told the Daily Star Online:

“Emotional connections are the foundations of relationships and that’s what we are simulating. And it’s emotions which add the X Factor to sex. I think two people can meet in a bar, have sex the same night and not remember each other’s names and say well that was fun. But that’s different sex than when you actually get to know someone and you bond with them intellectually and emotionally. You long for each other and maybe you wait for sex. It is the deeper connection we all crave.”

Users can choose from 12 personality traits including “sexual, kind, shy, friendly, naive and intellectually.” From their smartphone, they can then adjust the measures of these traits and create a personality for their new partner.

They’re planning to launch updates including a “pulse” for the bots, to take the experience up another notch.
