This Dating Site Now Offers Professional Advice From Dating Coaches

Match Group, which manages sites like Match, OKCupid, Tinder, Hinge, and Plenty of Fish, is looking to make the dating world more personal and accessible. That’s why they’ve come up with a new feature that puts users in contact with professional dating coaches.

Unlike most apps that have AI chatbots, Match’s AskMatch service comes with the help of real-life trained professionals, ready to answer all of your questions and accept phone consultations. The information dispensed ranges from creating appropriate dating profiles to more complex stuff like dressing for a first date, how to define a new relationship, coping with ghosting and more.

RELATED: Facebook Is Rolling Out A New ‘Secret Crush’ Feature

Hesam Hosseini, Match’s CEO, tells Business Insider that AskMatch could be a welcome feature for men who have trouble discussing their love life. “I think in general, men are half as likely as women to talk to family and friends about their relationships because they struggle with opening up.” he said. “We see that women want a second opinion and validation for the path they’re on, and men are just asking advice.”

Aside from being a safe outlet for people, AskMatch also sounds like the ideal service for those who find Tinder hard to access, especially users who are older and don’t feel as comfortable with relying on interactions through a website.

While Tinder is one of the most used apps in the world, it has also changed the way people date and meet each other, giving a safe space to those who feel more comfortable meeting people online.

The AskMatch feature is now available for users in New York City and will be available throughout the country by 2020. Although its trial run is free to use, it’s not known how long this will remain the case. If you live in New York, take advantage of that free consultation.

5 Apps To Help You Train Your Puppy

People in their 20s and 30s love their pets, sometimes even prioritizing them over having children and long term commitments. It’s understandable; a strange economy, weird society and global warming are a few of the most striking factors that are influencing the stability of younger generations. Cats and dogs remind us of simpler things. They’re also great cuddle buddies.

According to Pet Business, 7 in 10 millennials own a pet, with more than half of them choosing to own a dog. Sixty-seven percent of the people interviewed consider their pet a family member and spend an average of $1,285 on the care of their little buddy. While none of this information is surprising, it highlights how important pets are to us and the fact that we’re invested in them and want them to lead happy lives.

Bustle compiled a list of the best apps when it comes to the training of your dog. Here are five of our favorites.

Prince Harry Wants To Raise Archie As A ‘Private Citizen’; Remember Those Rumors That John Mayer And Kourtney Kardashian Hooked Up?

Prince Harry wants to raise Archie as a ‘private citizen’ & ‘shield him’ from the public eye

Via Page Six:

Don’t expect Archie to come out of his bunker anytime soon. Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, reportedly think of their new son as a “private citizen” and plan to “shield him” from the public eye.

The Sunday Times of London, citing sources close to the family, speculated that Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the youngest member of the royal family, may be kept away from crowds of admirers — and will show up at only “big family occasions with his parents.” Proud dad Prince Harry has said he believes that combining private life with an official royal role requires a “tricky balancing act.”

A friend of Harry has said that privacy was more precious to the prince “than to almost any other member of the royal family,’’ the newspaper reported.

Remember those rumors that John Mayer and Kourtney Kardashian were hooking up?

On SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, John Mayer told host Andy Cohen that he believes one of the Kardashian’s leaked the story to the press. Hinting at how they may have been behind it all, John told Andy:

‘Little suspicious about the origin of the story…not sure the call’s not coming from inside the house on this one.’ He continued, commending the rumor-starters for their devious yet ingenious strategy.

‘If the call is coming from inside the house…it’s diabolical and genius,’ John said, ‘Because when people start gossiping about you and someone else, and they start putting your pictures together, it gets real suggestive.’

Lots Of People Are Dropping Their AirPods Onto Subway Tracks

AirPods have always been a hotly debated topic. The tiny headphones that come with their small container/charging station are futuristic and comfy, but also small and easy to lose. You can’t stuff them down your pockets as you would with any other pair of headphones. The Bay Area transit system reports that these devices also have a tendency of ending up down the subway tracks.

RELATED: Genius Makes Earrings Out Of Airpods So They Won’t Get Lost

In an email exchange with Mashable, BART officials explain that this year 52 AirPods lost and found reports have been filed. If the rate keep up, this number will beat last year’s 80 filed reports.

BART’s Twitter account is surprisingly responsive, peppered with requests and comments from users who think they’ve dropped their AirPods down the subway’s tracks.

People really don’t want to lose the $159 they spent on their headphones.

RELATED: Meme Of The Week: The Internet Still Finds Airpods Very Hilarious

Always sympathetic, BART officials express their condolences when they deem the AirPods lost or let users know about the grabbing tool employees keep nearby in order to retrieve lost items.

“Keep them in your pocket when on escalators or the platform and while boarding the train,” advises a BART representative. “Besides falling into the trackway they can also easily fall in the gap between the platform and the train when boarding. Once on the train, just know if they fall out, you’ll be searching the floors of a likely crowded train car moving at speeds of up to 80 mph.”

I’m not going to tell you how to live your life, but do you really want to risk the possibility of having to fish for an AirPod down the subway’s tracks? That thing goes in your ear.

Y’all Won’t Stop Flying With Weed Through California’s LAX Airport, Huh?

Have you ever googled “Can I Fly With Weed?” Don’t worry because you’re not alone, especially if it involves flying from a legal state like California. Police have seen trafficking arrests rise by 166% at LAX since California legalized cannabis in 2016, according to records obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

While authorities say passengers stuffing some weed on their carry-on is on the rise, the bigger issue is small-time smugglers trying to escape the state’s saturated cannabis market. Due to legalization and light penalties if caught, these marijuana runners don’t have much fear in any risking the consequences.

RELATED: Everything You Need To Know About Traveling With Marijuana

Police are routinely discovering entire bags of checked luggage full of marijuana, transforming the world’s fourth busiest airport into the country’s premiere hub for transporting weed. And LAX isn’t the only airport in California where this is happening.

“We intercept large quantities of marijuana regularly,” said Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, which has jurisdiction over Oakland International Airport, in an interview with the LA Times. “We find it in about 50-pound quantities … the carry-on rate for luggage. I would imagine we’re only intercepting some of it, not all of it.”

Bill Kroger Jr., a 20-year criminal defense lawyer who specializes in cannabis cases, told the Times “the money is outside of California,” because of all the new players with fat pockets flooding the industry. Data backs this up, as California is the country’s leading producer of cannabis, growing 13.5 million pounds in 2016. That figure, by the way, is five times the amount state residents ended up consuming.

RELATED: Smuggling A Little Marijuana On An Airplane Is No Big Deal

Hence, all the smuggling. LAX arrest records show only 20 trafficking arrests were made in 2016. That number rose slightly to 38 in 2017, before soaring to 101 in 2018, the first year of legal recreational marijuana sales in California. Among the most popular destinations for marijuana smugglers were Atlanta, Dallas, Indianapolis, and Chicago.

“This is normal procedure for these guys, and I would say 29 out of 30 times they make it through without a problem,” Kroger said.

Part of the reason is because though marijuana trafficking is on the rise, police’s primary attention remains elsewhere. While the federal government still attests that marijuana is a Schedule I drug—meaning it has no medical value—and the DEA is against legalizing the plant, authorities maintain that it’s a “low-enforcement priority.”

Did You Hear? Gossiping Might Be Good For Us

Although gossiping is a habit that has some negative connotations, it’s something most everyone participates in. It’s somewhat of a bonding move because it unites us, just like any other type of shared interaction.

A study published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science found that we spend 52 minutes each day engaged in gossip. And if you think that sounds high, gossip in this instance is not synonymous with divulging secrets and whispering behind someone’s back.

The study found that the majority of the gossip we share is harmless, made up of neutral information that doesn’t paint anyone in a bad light. Mentioning to your coworker that your brother moved across the country or that your dad adopted a new cat are ways of communicating and cementing relationships.

RELATED: Just 16 Minutes Of Sleep Loss Can Harm Work Concentration The Next Day

“About three-quarters of the conversation we heard in our sampled conversations was neither positive nor negative,” says Megan Robbins, one of the psychologists who lead the study.

The research consisted of analyzing snippets of conversations caught by participants who were wearing portable recording devices for two to five days. These recordings showed some interesting evidence, like the fact that women and men engage in the same amount of gossip and that extroverts are more likely to talk about others when compared to introverts. Around 15% of the gossip shared had some sort of negative judgment attached to it.

RELATED: Is It Possible To Work Yourself To Death?

NPR reports that although negative gossip is hurtful for those at the center of it, it’s a practice that can also lead to self-reflection. If a coworker complains about the fact that you’re lazy, you might feel awful but you’ll surely monitor your work performance more closely. Same if you warm up smelly food in the office’s microwave and get the stink eye from everyone else in the building.

Stop Judging Moms For Using Marijuana

Moms make the world go round, plain and simple. The duty and responsibility they bear is greater than any job requirement found in a 9-to-5 gig. It’s no wonder why the image of mom having a glass of wine on the couch after a long day to wind down is so prevalent in our culture. Yet, it looks different when it is weed, so stop judging moms for using marijuana.

But why does everyone react so differently when moms replace that wine glass with cannabis? According to a new poll published by Miss Grass, a cannabis-focused publication for women, 21% of moms say they have completely replaced alcohol usage with marijuana. In addition, 38% of moms admit they prefer cannabis over alcohol at least some of the time.

RELATED: Are Weed Moms The New Wine Moms?

This isn’t astonishing data, by any means. We’ve already documented the trend of how weed moms are becoming the new wine moms while other data suggests that microdosing mamas have emerged as new key consumers in the industry. These narratives might be celebrated within the industry, but not as much outside of it.

According to the same Miss Grass poll, 68% of moms confess they’ve experienced discrimination for their cannabis use. As one mom said, “I see so many photos of parents with a child in one hand and a drink in the other even. It’s not okay but it happens. If a parent, especially a mother were to even admit to smoking cannabis, they’d be reported for child abuse. It’s a complete shame; the stigma and judgement people pass.”

This is why 20% of moms hide their cannabis use from friends and 36% don’t tell their parents or family members. The potential backlash they might receive just isn’t worth any admission. Which is an abject shame, right? Moms shouldn’t be discriminated against for having a couple puffs of a vaporizer at night or rubbing THC-infused lotions on their feet after being up all day.

RELATED: PSA: Moms Would Really Love Some Weed For Mother’s Day

“A mother who’s in good mental, physical, emotional form is a better mom, and for a lot of people, cannabis is a really critical tool in helping them achieve wellbeing,” one woman responded in the survey. “A lot of them are approaching it as medicine, as they would any over-the-counter medication.”

How does this not strike people as a legitimately healthy response mechanism to stress, pain, and the other troubles life tends to throw our way? Any criticism moms receive—particularly moms who maintain a wellness and health approach to cannabis usage—represent a double standard. It’s long past time we have just one standard. If you approve a glass of wine at night, marijuana should receive the attitude. Give moms that break. They could sure use it.

Anti-Cannabis Minister Threatens To Bring Down Government

An anti-cannabis minister is threatens to bring down the Italian government. The firebrand Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has promised to shutter every legal cannabis shop in Italy “one by one” and collapse the government should his coalition partner, the Five Star Movement, not comply with the demand.

“From today, I’ll go to war on cannabis street by street, shop by shop, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, city by city,” Salvini said on Wednesday, May 8.

Salvini, who leads the ruling far-right Lega party, said the war on drugs was “a new national emergency”, and has demanded the government close “these places of mass miseducation”.

Legal cannabis retailers litter Italy’s high streets, and report an estimated turnover of €6.5m of CBD-related products. More than 300 additional stores were opened in 2018, up 75 percent from the previous year.

The retailers sell mainly CBD, which is derived from the cannabis plants, and contains less than 0.2 percent of the active substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), allowed by law.

Similar shops have appeared across Europe in recent years with little pushback from areas other than Austria. Italian lawmakers have only regulated the level of THC in weed, not the retail and marketing of CBD products. A judgement from the Supreme Court of Cassation, the highest court of appeal in Italy, is expected at the end of the month.

A day after Salvini’s announcement, police closed three cannabis shops in the city of Macerata, in the centre of Italy. Products were seized, and it has been reported some contained THC levels exceeding the legal limit.

RELATED: Italian Patients Say Yes To Marijuana For Chronic Pain

Salvini backed the “Macerata’s model” and said he will enact a directive in Italy allowing local regions to take the same action.

“We should not give wrong information, because cannabis shops don’t sell drugs,” replied Italy’s Health Minister Giulia Grillo, a member of the Five Star Movement.

She said the only current legal prohibitions the sale of CBD are linked to vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women and minors, and that the cannabis extracts are not illegal.

“I can assess only the health aspect. However, it should be stressed that the concentration of the active ingredient in those products is not such as to have narcotic effects on consumers,” she said, adding there was no place for free drugs in Italy.

The controversy is the latest in a number of splits emerging between the far-right Lega party and anti-establishment group Five Star Movement, which govern Italy via coalition.

In a TV debate, Salvini said he would immediately topple the government if the Five Star Movement attempted to legalise cannabis.

Five Start deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio urged caution. “Enough,” he said in a note sent to the press. “We are all against drugs, but now Italian citizens are tired of these threats to the government,” Di Maio said.

In January, a Five Star senator, Matteo Mantero, filed a draft law allowing citizens to grow up to three marijuana plants for recreational use. The hardline Salvini said he expected the draft law to be iced.

The minister also wants to stamp out hemp or cannabis fairs. “They’re havoc, this must be stopped,” Salvini said, adding he was “not the minister of a drug-dealer state”.

In response, organisers of the hemp festival Sativa Torino Expo have cancel their event expected to take place from 17 to 19 May in Turin.

“Now it is difficult to make people understand that our expo is not a party that aims to promote soft drugs but to make clarity and divulgation over these new products,” said Claudia Ottone, marketing director of the agency behind the event.

The Best Dressed Royal According To Vogue

When it comes to fashion, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle get all of the attention. And it’s well deserved. But who is the best dressed royal according Vogue. British Vogue editor Edward Enninful definitely has an opinion.

The winner is….neither.

“[He] adores Camilla, he thinks she’s the best-dressed royal,’” royal correspondent Emily Andrews said on Channel 5’s new documentary, “Secrets of the Royal Dressmaker.

“He thinks she’s gorgeous and he wants to put her on the cover of Vogue.”

Both Duchess Kate and Princess Diana have been featured on the cover, so Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, wouldn’t exactly be throwing her fascinator into new territory.

According to International Business Times, Camilla has recently upped her fashion game. “In March, she wowed the royal fans when she attended Cheltenham Ladies Day in a cream coat, polka-dot dress and a chic pair of chocolate brown suede knee-high boots. Prince Charles’ second wife complemented her outfit with a matching plush fur-trimmed hat.”

TRH signed Leipzig’s Golden Book and visited two churches: St Thomas’s Church and St Nicholas Church, which is the oldest and largest church in the city. St Nicholas Church is known as being a key location in the events of the “Peaceful Revolution”, the events which led to the division of Germany in 1989 and German Unification a year later. Tens of thousands of people marched peacefully from the church through the centre of the city. The Prince of Wales laid a white rose at the memorial column commemorating the Peaceful Revolution.

Does Your Child Suffer From Seizures? Here Are The States With CBD-Only Laws

Several years ago, Dr. Sanjay Gupta showed the world in his CNN documentary “Weed” how cannabidiol (CBD) was helping epileptic children live seizure free. Since then, there has been a literal uprising in the popularity of this non-intoxicating component of the cannabis plant. Even the federal government, which still maintains that marijuana has no medicinal value, has signed off on CBD to some degree. In 2018, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first ever CBD-based drug (Epidiolex) for the U.S. market designed explicitly as a treatment for children with rare forms of epilepsy.

Several states have put marijuana laws on the books over the past few years exclusively for children suffering from seizure disorders. There are now 17 states in the nation where children can legally use this drug as opposed to traditional epilepsy treatments. However, some of these laws are better than others. In most cases, the law simply allows parents to have an affirmative defense. Other states have a full-blown cultivation and distribution network setup for this medicine.

Alabama

RELATED: This Is How Marijuana Treats Seizures

The state was one of the first to push a CBD-only policy known as “Carly’s Law.” It was made official back in 2014 when it was signed by Governor Robert Bentley. But the law is pretty weak. It only gives epilepsy patients the right to flex an affirmative defense if they happened to get busted for possession of this marijuana compound. The state does not have a legal system for purchasing CBD oil. In 2016, another CBD law was signed by Bentley that expanded the affirmative defense to more patients. Both laws require a physician to write a “prescription” before this defense is valid. Due to a conflict between state and federal law, neither statute has been beneficial.

Georgia

The state has the “Haleigh’s Hope Act,” which was signed into law back in 2015 by Governor Nathan Deal. It allows the use of CBD oil containing no more than 5 percent THC. This is another affirmative defense state. There is still no in-state cultivation and distribution, so patients are required to smuggle in CBD from another legal state such as Colorado. However, back in 2017, lawmakers approved more qualifying conditions. Now, patients with cancer to PTSD can register to use CBD oil.

Indiana

The state was one of the last to pass a CBD-only law. It allows patients with epilepsy to use cannabidiol that contains no more than 0.3 percent THC. But the catch is that patients can only gain access to the cannabis compound if their epilepsy is resistant to other therapies. The state does, however, have a law in place allowing the distribution of hemp-derived CBD. These products do not contain near the level of CBD concentration that is needed to control the frequency of seizures.

Iowa

The state has the “Medical Cannabidiol Act,” which allows patients with intractable epilepsy to use CBD with 3 percent THC or less. Possession of CBD products containing more than the permitted THC level can bring about criminal charges. The only real upside to this law is the qualifying conditions list was expanded a couple years ago. The state also passed a distribution system for CBD oil so that patients do not have to break federal law smuggling it across state lines.

Kentucky

The state was one of the first to put a CBD-only law on the books. The basis of the law was allowing researchers to examine how the compound might be able to help children with epilepsy. It is a situation where patients must enroll in clinical trials conducted by the state’s universities. There is nothing in the law that shows how patients can otherwise obtain CBD. Physicians aren’t even allowed to offer recommendations, so unless a child has connections to these studies they cannot participate.

Mississippi

The state has “Harper Grace’s Law,” which simply gives certain patients the ability to use an affirmative defense in the event they are caught in possession of CBD oil. But only if the medicine was obtained or tested by the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi and dispensed by the Department of Pharmacy Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. If not, prosecution for possession of a Schedule I drug is possible.

Missouri

The state has a CBD-only law on the books that allows patients with intractable epilepsy to use the compound as long as it contains no more than 3 percent THC. But the bill requires that a neurologist attest that the patient was unresponsive to at least three other treatments before recommending CBD. However, the state recently passed a comprehensive medical marijuana program, which should improve CBD access.

RELATED: Now You Know: 5 Ways To Take CBD

North Carolina

The state has the “Epilepsy Alternative Treatment Act.” Similar to Kentucky, it allows its four universities to experiment with the drug in clinical trials. This enables patients who have been unresponsive to at least three other treatments to get involved with CBD temporarily.

Oklahoma

The state has “Katie’s Law,” which allows minors with severe forms of epilepsy to use CBD oil that contains no more than 3 percent THC. The state recently legalized a more comprehensive medical marijuana program. It is expected that CBD oil will become more readily available there soon.

South Carolina

The state put “Julian’s Law” on the books back in 2014. It exempts some patients (those with a recommendation for CBD oil) from prosecution in some circumstances. Unlike most CBD-only states, South Carolina allows this product to contain no more than 9 percent THC rather than the standard 3 percent. There are also research opportunities for CBD oil available under the law.

RELATED: Which To Choose: Pure CBD Extracts Or Cannabis-Derived CBD With Some THC?

South Dakota

The state has had a bizarre CBD-only law since 2017. It is one that indicates that the compound must be approved by the FDA before it is considered a Schedule IV drug instead of a Schedule I. And the FDA’s recent approval of Epidiolex doesn’t count. Basically, no one is benefiting from this law.

Tennessee

The state put a CBD-only law in place back in 2014. Once again, it is one of those that provides patients with intractable epilepsy with a legal exemption in the event they are busted in possession of this drug. The state does allows some restricted cultivation at state universities, but it’s not a very functional program.

Texas

Governor Greg Abbott signed a CBD-only bill into law in 2015. It allows patients with intractable epilepsy to have access to CBD oil containing no more than 5 percent THC. The law requires patients to receive recommendations from two doctors instead of one. The law was also written to include the word “prescribe,” which creates problems in the ability of doctors to participate in the program.

RELATED: This Is How Marijuana Treats Seizures

Utah

The state has “Charlee’s Law,” which allows patients with intractable epilepsy to possess CBD oil with no more than 3 percent THC. The state recently passed a law that will enable marijuana pharmacies to open next year.

Virginia

The state is another one that allows specific patients an affirmative defense if caught in possession of CBD oil. It protects them from prosecution but not from the initial arrest. However, the state passed legislation a couple of years ago that allows some cannabis producers to manufacture CBD oils for patients with this condition.

Wisconsin

The state has “Lydia’s Law,” which allows patients with seizure disorders the right to possess CBD oil. Although the law gives medical professionals the freedom to dispense CBD, the code on how to obtain it remains unclear.

Wyoming

The state passed a CBD-only law in 2015 that allows patients with intractable epilepsy to possess CBD oil. Again, there is no in-state production, so patients (only those with a state ID cards) must smuggle it in from a legal state.
