Just when you started to tire of these “10 Year Challenge” photos on social media depicting how people have aged over the past decade, a viral photo is here to save the day, proving once and for all it’s not about the number on the scale.
Eleven years ago, 30-year-old Anna Victoria looked much heavier, due to several contributor factors, which she said included too much drinking, not sleeping and eating junk food.
Want to know what’s weird? There is only a 5-pound difference between these two photos.

2007 vs 2018 🙊 Since I already shared a 10 year transformation, here’s an 11 year 😆 Does anyone else look back and feel like periods of time in your life were another life entirely? . ⬅️ Before: * Partied (clearly 🤣) * Ate only fast food * Wouldn’t step foot in a gym * Drank almost no water * Had trouble sleeping * Had digestive + GI issues from poor eating habits . ➡️ After: * Enjoys a glass of wine or two here and there * Eats 80/20 * Works out for my mental, emotional and physical health * Drinks 3-4 liters of water a day * Prioritizes sleep * No more digestive + GI issues (except for when I have huge cheat meals) . While I didn’t have a ton of weight to lose, my transformation was largely health focused, I am also proud of the physical change. And there’s only a 5 lb difference between these two photos! But one thing I want to add and make clear is despite the differences between these two photos, I still loved myself in the 2007 photo. No matter how much I did or didn’t weigh, I never let it phase me and question my worth. YOU deserve to love yourself now, no matter where you are in your journey, even if you haven’t even started ❤️ Please know that now, and always. #fbggirls #fitbodyapp #10yearchallenge www.annavictoria.com/fitbodyapp
Last summer, she posted a photo of her then-and-now with the caption, “I was the LAST person my friends would’ve caught in the gym or eating healthy. In fact, I hid my journey for the first YEAR because of it. 🙈 This journey can be scary you know?”

When I first started my journey, there’s no way I ever would’ve imagined I’d still be here. I was the LAST person my friends would’ve caught in the gym or eating healthy. In fact, I hid my journey for the first YEAR because of it. 🙈 This journey can be scary you know? Trying to work on improving your habits and not knowing whether you’re going to succeed or not… . But what I quickly realized was that no matter how much I struggled, the fact that I was trying was enough to be proud of. That was more than most could say! Especially those who are the quickest to criticize. I learned to be proud of my journey and of my struggles because it meant I was at least learning from those struggles. . I also realized that no matter how slow or how small, progress is progress! And over time small progress is going to amount to big progress! 🙌 Which is exactly what happened! My progress is not a result of overnight success. It’s days, weeks, months, years of fine tuning what works best for ME. Do you need years to see progress? No. Realistically most can see a significant change in 3-6 months with buckling down, following a regimented workout plan and meal plan. . But it shouldn’t stop there. When it becomes a lifestyle is when you’ll see changes that last. Even if you don’t envision yourself as “that person” who goes to the gym and eats healthy, there is still a place in the community for you. I was in your shoes and trust me when I say, if I can do it, YOU CAN TOO 💪 #fbggirls #fitbodyapp www.annavictoria.com/fitbodyapp
In another photo, also from 2015, Victoria wrote:
Although many tell me I looked fine or even “better” on the left, the fact that I looked fine was not an excuse to continue living such an unhealthy lifestyle (which was my excuse for many years). Sure, you can say I was lucky to look as I did while eating fast food 3x a day, but I didn’t FEEL good.
Personally, I was not healthy on the left, even if I looked like it. You can’t always tell someone’s health by how they look on the outside, and the only thing that matters is that you are happy and healthy.

This before picture was THE exact day I started my fitness journey. I think you can tell by the look on my face I had no idea what I was getting myself into. 😅 I had no idea my life was going to change or that I was even capable of such change. Although many tell me I looked fine or even "better" on the left, the fact that I looked fine was not an excuse to continue living such an unhealthy lifestyle (which was my excuse for many years). Sure, you can say I was lucky to look as I did while eating fast food 3x a day, but I didn't FEEL good. Society has many different definitions of what's beautiful and I will tell you right now, none of those definitions matter. The only definition of beauty that matters is YOUR definition. If you like being curvy and you are healthy, that's amazing! If you want to be more toned and lean and you are healthy, that is also amazing! Personally, I was not healthy on the left, even if I looked like it. You can't always tell someone's health by how they look on the outside, and the only thing that matters is that you are happy and healthy. And that comes in many different shapes and sizes. 😊 www.annavictoria.com/guides
So if you’re lamenting your age progression during these ridiculous “10 Year Challenges,” just remember: it’s not about how you look or the number on the scale, it’s about how you feel.
