Photographer Attempts To Change People’s Weed Perception

This photographer attempts to change people’s weed perception. The name alone, Devil’s Lettuce Photography lets you know immediately what the account is aabout. By appropriating an outdated, eye-catching and kind of hilarious nickname, the photographer takes your expectations and reverses them, uploading beautiful and peaceful cannabis photography with a brief blurb on the side. The account steers clear of stoner culture and memes, only showing cannabis as a simple plant in its natural environment. Check out some of our favorite posts.

Photography has also been instrumental in shaping public opinion, as it can evoke emotions and influence how people see and understand the world. Photographs can sway public opinion and impact the course of events, whether through photojournalism, advertising, or propaganda. From war materials to non profits, a photograph can invoke and change feelings in a moment.  Photographs have brought the realness of war starting during the US Civil War through today.  Helping people visual and understand things via imagines gives you brain multiple ways to process concepts.

VIDEO: Why Joe Rogan Wants Everyone On Marijuana

Everyone knows just how much Joe Rogan loves, supports, and advocates for cannabis. And in honor of Colorado surpassing $1 billion in revenue generated by marijuana taxes, licenses, and fees, we’re bring back this classic bit from Joe Rogan’s classic 2014 special Rocky Mountain High. Taped right after marijuana sales became legal in the state, Rogan hilariously breaks down why he believes everyone should try weed. Particularly those who support prohibition. Here is a video on why Joe Rogan wants everyone on marijuana.

“First of all, everyone who tells you that you can’t have weed, they should all get on weed,” Rogan says. “Every single one of those motherfuckers. They’re the people who need weed more than anybody.”

Why’s that, you ask? Because humans have become too cocky, too ignorant of the complex reality of our own existence. Being high also makes you confront the numbing implications of infinity, and fall asleep while trying to masturbate. It’s all classic Rogan schtick. And for anyone who’s become too complacent in their lives, Rogan has a high-minded suggestion.

“You want to shit your pants? Pot cookie plus airplane,” he says. “That’s a religious experience. And it’s available for everyone.”

You can watch the full clip below.

All this explains why Joe Rogan wants everyone on marijuana.

This Is What Princes William And Harry Were Almost Named

How different would their lives be if Prince William and Prince Harry had totally different names? It almost happened.

If you couldn’t tell by now, The Royals stick to very traditional names when it comes to naming their heirs. And that’s certainly the case with William Arthur Philip Louis and Henry Charles Albert David, otherwise known as Prince William and Prince Harry. But their dad, Prince Charles, originally wanted to name them something else until Princess Diana stepped in.

During her interviews with biographer and friend Andrew Morton for his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story (snippets of which were used in the documentary Diana: In Her Own Words — currently available on Netflix), she mentioned that she came up with her sons’ names. And from what she tells Morton, you can see why.

“I chose William and Harry, but Charles did the rest,” said the late Princess, telling him that Charles had something entirely different in mind: “He wanted Albert and Arthur, and I said no. Too old!”

Can you imagine? Albert and Arthur? Of course, the name Arthur didn’t totally go to waste. Prince William named his newest son Louis Arthur Charles. Maybe someday, we’ll find out if Harry will find a way to use Albert to name one of his offspring. But for now, Archie is close enough.

Meme Column: Meryl Streep’s Scream In ‘Big Little Lies’ Has Resonated Deeply With The Internet

“Big Little Lies” is one of those shows that does it all, winning every award and leading to great memes. From great lines of dialogue to great physical and comedic performances, it’s a show that’s been embraced by critics and pop culture, the perfect mix of entertainment and meaningful content.

Season two premiered this past Sunday and it featured the return of everyone’s favorite characters. It also introduced Meryl Streep in her first ever TV role, a momentous occasion that left hundreds rattled (I include myself in this demographic). Streep is playing Mary Louise, a grieving mother who doesn’t hold back an inch. There’s fake teeth involved and Streep utters every line of dialogue with a mix of sarcasm and contempt that results in really scary stuff.

The moment that stuck most with viewers was a big one. In grief, Mary Louise screams out in front of her grand-kids and Nicole Kidman only to laugh it off seconds later and claim that screaming is the sane thing to do. Twitter loves a good scream and it doesn’t get any better than this.

There’s a full season of Meryl Streep ahead of us. Let’s make the most of it.

Marijuana Etiquette For Backyard Barbecues

Summer is the time of year when Americans like to hang out in their backyards getting liquored up on fruity cocktails while slabs of meat cook on the grill. These mosquito-swatting soirees have been a custom in this country for decades, beginning shortly after World War II as a way for people who had tied-one-on in places like California and Hawaii to recreate those experiences at home.

But now that marijuana is legal in parts of the country, some party-goers are opting to bring cannabis products to these backyard events instead of the traditional bottle of wine or a six-pack of beer. Yet since the herb is still far from as socially accepted as alcohol – this is true even in states where it is legal — it is necessary, in some cases, to exercise a little couth when showing up to someone’s house with weed.

So, in the interest of not offending your hosts, here are a few weed etiquette tips for backyard barbeques.

Ask The Host If Bringing Marijuana Is Okay First

While a party host will always be happy to see that you’ve brought along a bottle of whatever, showing up to a backyard barbeque with marijuana is not always met with the same enthusiastic fanfare.

Depending on the situation, it might not be a good idea to have a bunch of people standing around outside, blowing pot smoke into the air for the rest of the neighborhood to smell. This could quickly turn into a situation where the cops show up and start handing out citations or even making arrests.

Even if the party is going down in a legal state, it is always polite to first check with the host to make sure the event is cannabis-friendly. Although they might not want a bunch of people smoking weed in front of their kids, they may be more than fine with the idea of their guests consuming edibles. Find out their preference before showing up. No matter which direction the conversation goes, any host will be more than appreciative that you respected them enough to ask.

Don’t Just Show Up and Immediately Start Toking

Even if the host tells you that it is perfectly acceptable to bring marijuana to their backyard barbeque, it is probably not a good idea to toke up as soon as you arrive. The host may have decided that all of the cannabis consumption is going to take place in a designated area to keep some of the more conservative guests from feeling uncomfortable. Once again, marijuana just doesn’t have the social acceptance to be used in some places as freely as booze. Hopefully, that will change one day.

Your host may also want to keep the weed odor from wafting over to their neighbors. There could be any number of reasons that smoking marijuana right out in the open might not be advantageous to their particular situation. And since they are the ones who have to live there, we must respect their rules. So, it is always polite to inquire before sparking up at any party. Just ask: “Hey Jim, are you cool with me firing this thing up right here, or did you have something else in mind?” They will provide you with the necessary guidance, we assure you. Just be courteous and follow the lead of your host.

Bring Enough To Share

Chances are there are going to be more people at a backyard barbeque who like getting stoned than you think. Everyone knows there is nothing more satisfying than catching a mean case of the marijuana munchies before digging into all of the grilled meats and sides that these parties tend to offer. But, unlike you, other guests may not have been forward-thinking enough to bring weed. Instead, they packed a cooler of Zima, the ingredients for Appletinis or something equally embarrassing.

Let them know that there is pot in the vicinity, and you had better believe that they will try to get in on the mix. It doesn’t matter if you only brought one joint, 20 people are going to want a hit off of it. So, bring plenty of marijuana along to share with others. We recommend edibles. They are versatile and it keeps everyone from having to swap DNA just to catch a buzz. This will be your contribution to the party, and, trust us, you will make a bunch of new friends before the end of the night.

Birth Of Harry’s Son Might End Feud And More

This week’s gossip round up including Birth of Prince Harry’s son Archie might be ending feud with brother

Via Fox News:

Katie Nicholl, an expert on all things royal, told Entertainment Tonight that a feud between the brothers definitely happened and that the newborn “has probably really helped to improve the relationship.” It seems the birth of Harry’s son might end the feud.

“I was told by a very senior royal source that actually they weren’t talking to each other at one point,” Nicholl said. “I certainly think now that Archie is here, it has probably really helped to improve the relationship. William is over-the-moon that his brother is a dad.”

Rumors of a crack between Prince Harry, 34, and Prince William, 36, have dominated headlines in recent months. At the family’s Easter service in April, the brothers were reportedly distant from one another, not speaking to each other outside of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, either before or after the service.

Nicholl previously said in a documentary the issue between the princes was sparked after William grew increasingly worried about his whirlwind romance with Markle.

“William was quite concerned that the relationship had moved so quickly,” she said “And being close to Harry, you know, probably the only person close enough to say to Harry, ‘This seems to be moving quickly. Are you sure?’ And I think what was meant as well-intended brotherly advice just riled Harry.”

But Archie — the first child of Markle and Harry, born 7 pounds, 3 ounces — might be bringing the brothers back together. Royal experts speculated the two would likely become closer now that they’re both parents.

“William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship,” a source close to the royal family said. “The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on.”

Gisele Bündchen, Tom Brady pack on the PDA in new photo

Via Fox News:

On Wednesday, the 38-year-old supermodel shared a photo of the couple looking very much in love. In the snap, the New England Patriots quarterback, 41, and Bündchen had their arms wrapped around each other as they shared a kiss while the sun set over the ocean in the background.

For the sweet moment, Bündchen wore white jeans with a flowy floral top and no shoes, opting to go barefoot, while Brady sported blue jeans, a tan sweater paired with slip-on sneakers. “Meu eterno namorado❤ My forever Valentine,” Bündchen adoringly captioned the picture.

Brady and Bündchen often post sweet sentiments about each other on social media — and their 10th wedding anniversary back in February was no different with the couple celebrating their special day with words of affection.

“I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since we’ve chose to walk this life together… and what incredible 10 years we’ve had!” Bündchen wrote alongside a photo from the pair’s nuptials. “There is nothing that I love more in this world than you and our family.”

Toronto Wins NBA Finals To The Smell Of Legal Weed

Toronto wins NBA finals to the smell of legal weed!  On Thursday night the Toronto Raptors won the NBA Finals for the first time in team history. Since 1993, no professional Canadian team in the four major sports—NBA, MLB, NHL, or the NFL—had won a championship until the Raptors victory this season. Suffice to say, Canadians had something to celebrate.

And boy did they celebrate.

Particularly in Toronto where denizens of the city swarmed the streets. Television anchors reporting live from the scene noted the jubilant and festive atmosphere coursing through the Canadian city. But they also sniffed something else in the air. As one TSN anchor coined it, “You can also smell marijuana is legal here in Canada.”

That wasn’t the only insistence of people on the ground feeling a contact high, either.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who was instrumental in pushing adult-use legalization in Canada, also joined the fun. No word yet if he also enjoyed the fact marijuana is legal in Canada.

Cannabis in Canada is legal for both recreational and medicinal purposes. Medicinal use of cannabis was legalized nationwide under conditions outlined in the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations, later superseded by the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, issued by Health Canada and seed, grain, and fibre production was permitted under licence by Health Canada. The federal Cannabis Act came into effect on 17 October 2018 and made Canada the second country in the world, after Uruguay, to formally legalize the cultivation, possession, acquisition and consumption of cannabis and its by-products.  Canada is the first G7 and G20 nation to do so.

A Caution On Canadian Marijuana Stocks

In the world of pot stocks, your options are seemingly limitless. To reduce the agony of parsing which stocks might be winners and losers, you might just settle on the biggest names out there. Companies like Canopy Growth and Tilray, for example. With legal marijuana sales growing at a rate higher than 20%, how could you go wrong?

But choosing wrong is exactly what you’d be doing, say Compass Point Research & Trading analysts. It’s true Canadian marijuana producers like Canopy and Tilray might receive higher valuations than those in the United States. But Canadian marijuana sales will only hit $2.7 billion in 2020, according to the analysts projections, while the U.S. forecasts at $4.8 billion that same year.

“[W]e cannot help but notice a striking level of disparity when comparing the major Canadian companies to the largest American multistate operators,” says Compass Point analysts Rommel Dionisio and Isaac Boltansky, according to Barron’s.

RELATED: A Simple Guide To Making An Investment In Marijuana Stocks

Part of the advantage in buying stocks in United States-based marijuana companies is the inevitable advent of more customers and growth through legalization efforts. Illinois just became the 11th state to legalize recreational marijuana, which grew the amount of Americans living in adult-use marijuana states to 30%.

This isn’t a catch-all analysis, but it does stand to reason why going American is the better choice for pot stocks. As Compass Point notes, major Canadian players like Canopy will likely remain an industry leader, but its shares are trading at a premium compared to its competition. More lucrative growth is available by staying away.

Colorado Surpasses $1 Billion In Marijuana Revenue In Just 5 Years

A word to states considering marijuana legalization: If you approve using the green plant, you’ll receive green back. That’s the latest lesson from Colorado, where state revenue from marijuana sales surpassed $1 billion for the first time.

Since Colorado adult-use cannabis program begin in 2014, the state has generated more than $6 billion in marijuana sales, according to the Colorado Department of Revenue. To be exact, Colorado has seen $6.56 billion in marijuana sales as of last month.

According to the Huffington Post, Colorado reached $500 million in revenue through licenses, fees, and taxes in its first three and a half years of legalization. Within just two years, it’s doubled that number.

“The cannabis industry in Colorado is thriving – the state has reached $1 billion in marijuana tax revenue,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said via Twitter.

“We must continue to lead the way,” he added. “We want Colorado to be the best state for investment, innovation and development for this growing economic sector.”

Analysts expected Colorado to generate between $5-22 million a year through marijuana taxes. But since 2015, marijuana-related revenue has exceeded $100 million each year. That revenue has been helpful in launching a number of programs, as the first $40 million in revenue is automatically allocated for school construction. The city of Denver also used marijuana revenue to launch its “High Costs” campaign, which has been effective in turning teens away from using cannabis.

Colorado has a 2.9% sales tax on medical marijuana while collecting a 15% special sales tax and 15% excise tax on retail cannabis, according to CBS Denver.
