Lori Loughlin Could Face Up To 40 Years In Jail; Gwen Stefani’s lips, hair criticized

Lori Loughlin could now face up to 40 years in jail after new charges

Actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, two of the 16 parents indicted on fraud and money laundering charges in the college admissions cheating scandal, could face up to 40 years in prison—a maximum of 20 years for each of the charges, a report said.

The “Fuller House” star and her husband, along with 14 other parents, are being charged with a “second superseding indictment with conspiring to commit fraud and money laundering,” the Department of Justice revealed in a statement to Fox News on Tuesday.

Last month, Loughlin and Giannulli were charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud. They allegedly paid $500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits, even though the young women did not play the sport.

“The second superseding indictment also charges the defendants with conspiring to launder the bribes and other payments in furtherance of the fraud by funneling them through Singer’s purported charity and his for-profit corporation, as well as by transferring money into the United States, from outside the United States, for the purpose of promoting the fraud scheme,” the statement added.

The two charges the parents now face—conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering—each carries a maximum of 20 years in prison, along with a combined fine of $750,000, according to the New York Daily News

Gwen Stefani’s lips, hair criticized

Some Gwen Stefani fans were shocked by the singer’s look at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday — and not necessarily because of her show-stopping attire.

After Stefani, 49, posted a photo of herself to Instagram from the awards show, some commenters were quick to say the singer didn’t look like herself, specifically referencing her lips, makeup and hair, among other features.

“New lips who dis?” one user commented.

“Don’t like the hair,” another said.

“Sorry Gwen, I am not really a fan of this look for once…too much [and] too fake, it doesn’t fit you I think,” wrote another.

Some questioned whether or not the star had cosmetic surgery.

“Chill on the surgery,” one Instagram user commented.

But others came to singer’s defense, writing she looked “gorgeous” at the ACM Awards.

“Very beautiful,” one wrote.

Dogs Can Tell When Their Owners Are Upset And Will Try To Help Them

A new study confirms what we all know: dogs are the best and they have a special bond with their owners, especially when these are feeling sad or distressed.

The study, published in the journal Learning and Behavior, analyzed 34 dogs and their owners, bringing them into a lab for some trials. Scientists separated owners from dogs and put them within eyesight of each other. Owners were told to yell “Help!” every 15 seconds, with either an unaffected or a distressed tone.

The recordings of the tests showed a pattern. Although most dogs were eager to return to their owner whenever they spoke, they tended to run towards them 40 seconds faster when the demand was distressed.

RELATED: This Is Why We Value Dogs More Than Cats

The sample size of the study is small, so conclusive evidence can’t be drawn, but this attentive behavior from dogs is quite common. Data demonstrates that most dogs are very attuned to their owner’s feelings, much more in tune to them than they are to the feelings of fellow dogs, giving them the chance to know when humans are depressed or sick. According to  The Atlantic, dogs have a highly developed sense of smell and hearing, helping them notice changes in your moods and health that you might not even be aware of.

Your tone of voice or tears will attract your dog’s attention and make them more attentive of you. Maybe it’s because they love you unconditionally or because they find your behavior curious and want to understand it. It’s cute either way.

Apple Might Launch 5 iPhones This Year, Some Of Them With 3 Cameras

A new report claims that this year, Apple will launch a grand total of five iPhones. Three of these devices will be upgraded versions of last year’s models, with the other two being new smartphones with three rear cameras and larger lenses.

The report comes from Japanese tech blogger Macotakara who cites sources from Apple’s supply chain in China. It includes a mock up of images showing off the look of the devices, which have a cluttered back with three camera slots with large lenses. Although the mock up suggests some serious camera power, it lacks Apple’s traditionally sleek design.

According to the report, these phones will have a similar width and length to Apple’s current lineup of iPhones, only being a few millimeters thicker and including upgraded chips and features.

While some people find it hard to believe that Apple would release five phones within the span of a single year, other experts point out that Apple is working hard to switch things up. Their current lineup of iPads includes five models with different specs and prices.

We’ll have to wait until this Fall to confirm Apple’s plans, but it’s safe to assume that multiple cameras will be featured. During the past couple of years smartphone makers like Huawei, Samsung and Nokia have included up to five cameras on their devices. It doesn’t make for the most discreet look but the resulting photos are gorgeous.

Tiki Barber Explains How NFL Players Beat Marijuana Drug Tests

If you’ve been watching closely, we’ve been dropping hints about the worst-kept secret in the NFL—a lot of football players consume marijuana. Most teams don’t care all that much if their players use it either, which is why owners have already prepared to concede cannabis regulations ahead of the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement with its players.

All this begs the question: If so many players use cannabis now, despite it being against the current rules, how do they all get away it? Luckily, former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber recently shed light on it all in an interview with FOX Business. The drug tests, according to Barber, were extremely easy to beat.

“We always used to call it like the ‘dummy test’ because you know when the test is going to happen so just be clean and as long as you’re not in the program you can probably get away with it even if they technically know that it’s happening,” Barber told FOX Business.

Barber has a closer insight between cannabis and football than most. The former player has since launched an investment firm that assists marijuana startups navigate the beginning tangles of such a nascent industry. The company is called Grove Group Management, which Barber started with business partner Kevin Shin, and has already begun working with a number of a small businesses.

“It’s simply a business opportunity,” Barber said. “We wanted to put a group together that could attack this cannabis space in an intelligent way that makes sense for not only the business opportunity but also for minority communities and create a message of social progress.”

But Barber, who uses CBD-infused products to manage residual pain from his playing days, believes the NFL needs to change its approach in letting players use marijuana for pain management.

“It’s an evolving conversation with the league and I’m sure come 2020 or 2021 with a new collective bargaining agreement going to be negotiated, it’s going to be a talking point. Guys are tired of managing their pain with things that are going to destroy their livers and make their lives down the line very untenable in some ways,” Barber said.

Thomas Markle Won’t Ever Meet His Grandchild, Says Royal Expert

It’s been a rough patch for Thomas Markle. In less than a year, he bailed on his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry, he was outed as profiting off her newfound celebrity, and exploiting her “controlling” personality to gain media attention. To put it bluntly, Meghan Markle’s father has made a name for himself by playing the victim.

And now he’s paying the price.

In a preview for the new TLC documentary “Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story”, royal expert Duncan Larcombe, author of “Prince Harry: The Inside Story,” admitted Thomas Markle likely won’t get to ever see his own grandkid.

“I can’t think for a moment that Thomas Markle will ever be able to meet his grandson or granddaughter,” says Larcombe, followed by a clip of Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha, claiming that Meghan is now playing the victim after hurting her family.

The one-hour special premieres tonight at at 8 P.M. ET/PT.

Scarlett Johansson Shames Chris Hemsworth And More

Duchess Kate found out William cheated during her third pregnancy

A palace insider spills the tea on a reported affair between Prince William and Kate’s former close friend, Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley.

What IS up? According to speculation in posh circles, it’s really bad. “There are rumors that William had an affair and could have cheated on Kate while she was pregnant,” a palace insider says, explaining that whispers started over a year ago, before Kate gave birth to Prince Louis in April 2018. And when Kate heard them last fall, says another source, she immediately cut ties with Rose.

Kate’s worst nightmare: “It’s not surprising the rumors about William and Rose finally leaked to the public – something as big as this can’t be kept a secret forever,” says the insider, addition that the whole ordeal is “Kate’s worst nightmare.”

How Kate has reacted: Kate was humiliated and she “was told William has carried a torch for Rose for years – he’s raised eyebrows with his comments about her grace and beauty and even confided to pals that she was ‘the one who got away.’ Kate immediately confronted him, demanding to know the truth about his relationship with Rose but he just laughed it off, saying there was nothing to it.”

Kate feels threatened: “Kate is suspicious when she thinks about himflirting with Rose, and envious.” Kate, a commoner, feels especially threatened because of Rose’s posh background, notes the insider.

Scarlett Johansson shames Chris Hemsworth for sneaking his daughter on a Disneyland ride

While appearing alongside some of his Avengers: Endgame co-stars on Jimmy Kimmel Monday night, Chris Hemsworth shared a story about how he broke sacred Disney rules for his kiddo by sneaking her onto a ride. “I took my daughter on it a couple of years ago when it was previously called the Tower of Terror or something,” Hemsworth said. “She wasn’t tall enough. And she was really upset. And I was like ‘Nah, forget this. Come here.’”

RELATED: Science Says Medical Marijuana Improves Quality Of Life

In order to get his daughter on the ride, Hemsworth decided to stuff her shoes with Snicker bars.

“So I grabbed a couple of Snicker bars and slammed it in the back of her shoe under the heel,” Hemsworth explained. “And they’re like, “OK. In you come.’”

While Hemsworth was proud of cheating the rules, Scarlett Johansson was not impressed with his parenting choices.

“It’s wildly irresponsible as well,” she told him.

After receiving flack from his castmates, Hemsworth acknowledged that faking his daughter’s height to get on a ride wasn’t the best idea after all.

“I grab onto her, she is screaming the whole way down,” Hemsworth said.

What Impact Does Cannabis Consumption Have On Our Hormones?

What are your reasons for consuming cannabis and different cannabinoids? Is it because of the plant’s wide array of medicinal and therapeutic benefits? Is it because of the well-being and quality of life improvements it can deliver? Or does it serve a different purpose in your life?

Although we have our specific reasons for consuming cannabis, it’s important to understand the role it plays internally and externally. Specifically, cannabis impacts a plethora of hormones including, but not limited to: estrogen, testosterone, and growth hormones. But how so?

Keep reading to learn about the role cannabis plays in hormone production, the significance of the body’s endocrine system, and different research findings that shed light on the relationship between cannabis and various hormones.

The Significance of The Endocrine System and Various Hormones

Within the human body, different systems work together to maintain homeostasis and fulfill their designated responsibilities. In particular, the endocrine system is responsible for producing hormones and being the body’s head of communication. The endocrine system consists of the hypothalamus, pancreas, sex organs, and the following glands: thyroid, pineal, and adrenal. These glands communicate with other body parts that are responsible for producing hormones. Then, hormones act as messengers for the body’s endocrine system.

RELATED: 8 Ways Marijuana Seeds Can Be Used For Everyday Medicine

In addition to the variety of systems the body is made up of, we all have an endocannabinoid system (ECS), and the ECS shares a link with the endocrine system. Let’s not forget about the impact cannabis has on the endocrine system and different hormones though. Unfortunately, there’s little research about cannabis’s interaction with the body’s endocrine system. However, the existing research findings are certainly noteworthy.

Although there are many hormones within the body that serve their own purpose, several widely known and discussed hormones include testosterone, estrogen, cortisol, insulin, progesterone, prolactin, and thyroid. These hormones can help with fertility, increase growth, control immunity, affect moods, and alter one’s metabolism.

Research Findings About Cannabis’s Impact on Hormones and Hormone Production

Recently, it was discovered that regular cannabis consumption may have the ability to impact prolactin, adrenal, thyroid, and growth hormones. Thus far though, from the findings of a preclinical study, THC is the one cannabinoid that’s responsible for regulating different hormones.

Why is this though? Researchers believe THC has a massive impact on the body’s hormones because the cannabinoid can change different neurotransmitters within the hypothalamus or neurotransmitters within the body’s central nervous system. For those who don’t know, the hypothalamus is the lower central section of the brain that connects the endocrine system with the central nervous system.

Additionally, it has been revealed that cannabis does in fact impact hormone levels and hormone production. Cannabis usage especially THC has even shown to impact the body’s vital sex hormones. The main hormones that have been found to be the most impacted by cannabis include estrogen, testosterone, and growth hormones.

As far as research findings go, one study discovered that the chronic usage of cannabis and various cannabinoids could change the function of several reproductive organs.

Cannabis’s Impact on Female and Male Hormones

For years, research has focused more on the relationship between cannabis and hormone production in males than in females. We know that cannabis consumption results in a testosterone production increase. Oppositely, we also know that high THC levels can promote anti-estrogen activity.  Many researchers also believe that when women are ovulating, they experience a strong sensitivity to cannabinoids like THC.

To learn more about the link between cannabis and hormone production in women, additional research must be conducted including human clinical trials. In recent years though, it was discovered that high prolactin levels can lead to changes in women such as the following: elevated stress, mental health issues including anxiety and depression, infertility, aggression, osteoporosis, and even estrogen dominance. This is where some of cannabis’s medicinal and therapeutic benefits can play a vital role.

On the other hand, low prolactin levels can decrease the risk of developing testicular and breast cancer. Although low prolactin levels are better than high levels, when prolactin hormones are suppressed, postpartum and fertility can be negatively impacted.

How Does Cannabis Affect Other Hormones?

Moreover, currently, there isn’t much research on the impact cannabis usage has on the body’s thyroid. However, cannabis may be able to lower TSH—the thyroid-stimulating hormone that controls the functioning of the thyroid. There’s still much to learn though, and researchers are remain unsure about the exact role cannabis plays in  thyroid functioning.

Next is the body’s human growth hormone (HGH), which is released from the pituitary gland. HGH is strongly impacted by the ECS and CB1 receptors. When it’s suppressed, it also suppresses the spreading and growth of cancerous cells—a valuable benefit. This hormone is also essential for the functioning of female fertility and the natural cycle a woman’s body goes through in addition to aiding in the growth and development of a person mentally and physically.

Overall, more research must be executed to fully understand how cannabis influences and impacts the endocrine system and hormone production. Although cannabinoids can deliver analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, antidepressant properties, and many more benefits, future discoveries will continue to be made regarding the body’s endocrine system and how cannabis impacts hormone production. Stay tuned to find out more!

Prince William Is Kind Of A Spy Now

In an unexpected twist, Kensington Palace announced that Prince William has been hard at work with the MI-6—you know, that British organization made infamous in movies and spy novels. The royals are really out there, doing it all at once.

This announcement was made through Kensington Palace’s Instagram account, where they explained that the Duke of Cambridge had been shadowing different secret service agencies for the past three weeks and learning all about the country’s security against terrorism threats, technological discoveries that aid these developments, and more.

“Spending time inside our security and intelligence agencies, understanding more about the vital contribution they make to our national security, was a truly humbling experience.
These agencies are full of people from everyday backgrounds doing the most extraordinary work to keep us safe. They work in secret, often not even able to tell their family and friends about the work they do or the stresses they face,” said Prince William, fulfilling the fantasies of old ladies and making this situation seem more like a movie.

Amidst all the gossip surrounding the royals, the possibility of Prince William being considered a spy is one that Kensington Palace probably encourages. Better to have the people wondering about spies than to have them focusing on tacky royal feuds.

The US Will Never Elect Another Anti-Marijuana President

Over the past several years, cannabis legalization has moved from a previously fringe issue to a dominant conversation in the 2020 Election. Democratic nominees for President have been tripping over themselves in recent months to prove just how much they support marijuana. Cory Booker, Beto O’Rourke, and Kamala Harris have all asserted some cannabis credentials in recent months, albeit with varying levels of success.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) recently told Marijuana Moment that this trend won’t change anytime soon. In fact Blumenauer, who’s been on the frontlines of national cannabis reform and legislation, said that supporting marijuana prohibition and demonizing users is an inevitably losing strategy in the political sector moving forward.

RELATED: Why Marijuana Advocates Believe This Is The Year It Could All Come Together

“I don’t think there will ever be another president who will be anti-cannabis. It won’t happen,” Blumenauer said. “Either the Republicans or the Democrats. It is something that is supported overwhelmingly by the American public, it’s supported by a majority of Republicans and Democrats. It ain’t going to happen.”

That could spell trouble for someone like former Vice President Joe Biden. While he hasn’t announced he’s running for the Democratic nomination just yet, Biden has a history of being hard on cannabis and voting for anti-drug legislation.

RElATED: Is Federal Marijuana Reform On Its Way?

“Nobody is going to survive the nominating process who doesn’t have a reasonable position on cannabis,” Bluemenauer said when Marijuana Moment inquired regarding Biden’s anti-marijuana record. “They will not be nominated. I say that unequivocally.”

That, by the way, doesn’t discredit Donald Trump in the 2020 election. During his 2016 campaign, Trump said he supports medical marijuana “100 percent.” In addition, reports have surfaced that Trump blasted former Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ marijuana obsession behind closed doors. He’s also voiced support for the STATES Act, which would provide federal protections for states to create their own systems of cannabis regulation. So while America might not ever vote for an anti-cannabis President again, that doesn’t exclude the one we already got.
