Florida Congressional Candidate Claims To Speak With Aliens

I think it’s safe to admit some unexpected weirdos have become politicians lately. Your left or right leaning views aside, possible candidates for various political positions have been appearing in some unorthodox locations as of late.

Take Florida for example. The state currently counts Bill Nelson as a U.S. Senator. Nelson is well-known for flying on the space shuttle Columbia, an accomplishment worth touting and certainly grants him a different perspective than his peers.

But as uncovered by the Miami Herald, one congressional candidate out of Miami is trying to one up Nelson. Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, a Republican House candidate, claims to have visited a spaceship of aliens. Yes, like as in extraterrestrial beings. She stated the ship had “round seats” and was powered by “quartz rocks.” Since visiting the aliens at the age of 7, she confesses that these aliens have telepathically communicated with her over the years.

The proof comes from two Spanish-language YouTube videos. In the footage, here are among the things she says the aliens have told her.

Via Miami Herald:

▪ There are 30,000 skulls — “different from humans” — in a cave in the Mediterranean island of Malta.

▪ The world’s “energy center” is in Africa.

▪ The Coral Castle, a limestone tourist attraction South Miami-Dade, is actually an ancient Egyptian pyramid.

▪ “God is a universal energy.”

When asked by the Herald among her alien buds, Rodriguez Aguilera released a statement. She touched on the Space Age and beyond, but failed to mention anything regarding extraterrestrial beings.

“For years people, including Presidents like Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and astronauts have publicly claimed to have seen unidentified flying objects and scientists like Stephen Hawking and institutions like the Vatican have stated that there are billions of galaxies in the universe and we are probably not alone,” she told the Herald. “I personally am a Christian and have a strong belief in God, I join the majority of Americans who believe that there must be intelligent life in the billions of planets and galaxies in the universe.”

That being said, 2017 is by far the strangest year I’ve been alive.

Want To Work For Prince William And Kate Middleton? You Need To Hurry

0

There’s only a few days left to get your application into one of the most coveted positions ever. October 26 is the deadline for anyone who wants to apply to work with the Royal Family (we’re not talking about you, Kardashians).

Kensington Palace is hiring a senior communications officer to support the work of Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton. The full time role is a fixed term, maternity cover contract and requires about 38 hours a week. The gig will involve a focus on charity work, along with managing daily news flow to the press and communicating with audiences on traditional, digital and social media.

And before you start polishing up on your British accent, you should know the position, which is posted on LinkedIn of all places, is already closed on the popular networking site (most likely due to an overwhelming number of applications). However, it appears applications are still being accepted on the official Royal site.

According to the LinkedIn posting:
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of the communications strategy for The Royal Foundation and producing and delivering creative communications campaigns. They will take the lead on The Royal Foundation communications plans and the delivery of engagements as necessary and will work closely with both TRH’s Communications Secretary and the CEO of the Foundation. Drafting and circulating Press Lines will also be a key part of the role, as well as organising and giving press briefings and responding to out of hour’s media enquiries. The Senior Communications Officer will also be required to conduct research for special projects and contribute to strategic discussions and will provide support to the overall Household communications team.

Applicants must have extensive experience within a marketing, media or PR office, with a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) and, ideally, have experience of working within the charity sector. The ability to make decisions, using integrity and judgment whilst exercising caution, is also an essential requisite for the job, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion at all times.

The position was posted over the summer, so while it’s not impossible you’ll land the gig at this late juncture, it’s improbable. But you didn’t really want that job anyway, right?

Gossip: Hackers Threaten To Release Proof Of British Royals’ Plastic Surgery; Kardashians Hire PI To Follow Blac Chyna

A hacker group known as “The Dark Overlord” has reportedly swiped loads of sensitive data from a London-based plastic surgeon to the stars — including patient records and photos — which they are threatening to release.

“We have TBs [terabytes] of this s–t. Databases, names, everything,” they said. “We’re going to pitch it all up for everyone to nab. The entire patient list with corresponding photos. The world has never seen a medical dump of a plastic surgeon to such degree.”

Speaking through a representative, the hackers described how they recently infiltrated the computer servers of London Bridge Plastic Surgery, which describes itself online as “one of the leading plastic surgery clinics in the UK.”

“We can confirm that the clinic has been the victim of a cyber attack,” LBPS told the Daily Beast in a statement.

“We took measures to block the attack immediately in order to protect patient information and we informed the Metropolitan Police who launched an investigation,” they said. “Regrettably, following investigations by our IT experts and the police, we believe that our security was breached and that data has been stolen. We are still working to establish exactly what data has been compromised.”

The group tried to extort money from the streaming giant earlier this year — the group’s MO — after claiming to have stolen the fifth season of “Orange Is The New Black.”

“We are horrified that they have now targeted our patients,” LBPS concluded in their statement.

“Security and patient confidentiality has always been of the utmost importance to us,” they said. “We invest in market-leading technology to keep our data secure and our systems are updated daily. We are deeply saddened that our security has been breached. We are profoundly sorry for any distress this data breach may cause our patients and our team are available around the clock to speak to anyone who has any concerns.”

Kardashians Hire Private Investigator to Follow Blac Chyna

The feud between Blac Chyna and the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan is getting serious. The reality TV royal family has been dealing with this baby mama for less than a year. In that time, she’s proven to be quite a nuisance to them even though she hasn’t won the fight yet.

“Game is on. The family has fired a private investigator to follow her and dig up all the dirt on her,” sources tell Naughty Gossip. “They are stick of her thinking she has the upper hand. She has messed with the wrong family. Now they are going to destroy her.”

Chyna has taken up arms against every one of them, but the clan has stuck to the story that they had nothing to do with the crazy drama in her life. Before a verdict is reached in this matter, the Kardashians found one way to protect themselves from further damage at the hands of Blac Chyna.

This Study Proves That Medical Marijuana Can Help Children

Medical marijuana has demonstrated to be a helpful therapy for adults, but administering it to children remains a controversial topic. But a promising new study suggests that cannabis can help children with certain maladies.

According to a report published this week title “Medical Cannabinoids in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review” in  journal Pediatrics, “evidence for benefit was strongest for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, with increasing evidence of benefit for epilepsy” among children. But the researchers say there still is not sufficient evidence that cannabis can help adolescents with other ailments.

“Children and adolescents can legally access medical cannabis if they have certification from a doctor and from their legal guardian,” said Dr. Shane Shucheng Wong of Harvard’s department of psychiatry and a lead study author. “As a result, doctors and families really need to understand what we know and what we don’t yet know about medical cannabis to make the best decision for the child’s health.”

Medical marijuana programs are legal in 29 states (plus Washington D.C.) and, as the researchers note, “has led to a widening gap between the accessibility and the evidence for cannabinoids as a medical treatment.” The research attempted to discover acceptable use for children.

The study did not find evidence that medical marijuana was effective for children with ailments such as chronic pain, PTSD or Tourette’s syndrome. The researchers concluded “additional research is needed to evaluate the potential role of medical cannabinoids in children and adolescents.”

But some experts point to this study as a positive sign. As Paul Armentano, deputy director of NORML, told Healthline:

“The real-world results of these programs indicate that cannabinoids can play a role in pediatric care, particularly in the treatment of life-threatening seizures, and that they can do so in a manner that is sometimes safer and more effective than conventional treatments.”

According to Children’s Hospital Colorado, epilepsy affects 1 in 26 people at any point in their lifetime. More than three million Americans, including almost 400,000 children, currently live with epilepsy, with one-third living with treatment-resistant seizures.

Senator Orrin Hatch Continues To Be All In On Medical Cannabis

The medical benefits of cannabis can clearly no longer be ignored. If Sen. Orrin Hatch, a Republican, Mormon senator from Utah is on board, even Attorney General Jeff Sessions has run out of excuses.

“The evidence shows that cannabis possesses medicinal properties that can truly change people’s lives for the better,” said the Senator last month, while introducing legislation to take away roadblocks impeding studies on marijuana’s medical potential. “I strongly support research into the medicinal benefits of marijuana, and I remain committed to helping patients find the help they need, whether they suffer from cancer, severe seizures or any other chronic disorder.”

Since making the statements, Hatch has made cannabis a talking point wherever he goes. Even in tweets and videos, the senator and seemingly his staff have made marijuana a priority for outreach.

And it seems like a punchline. The senator previously had been vocally and voraciously opposed to cannabis reform.

Even if the senator claims his stance hasn’t changed as he’s for “any good medicine,” it has, and quite substantially. In fact, his “just say no” record goes back to a 1977 vote on decriminalizing small amounts of cannabis, saying his “no” vote was in order to not send the wrong message. But he didn’t stop there.

Even though the vote still cleared the panel 6-4 without his support, after that 1977 vote, Hatch threatened to call for an amendment adding prison time for small amounts of possession. The panel then dropped the original decrim plans.

Almost 20 years later, Hatch was promoted to the chair of said panel, at the end of 1996 Clinton was in office and California and Arizona had just voted in the first medical marijuana laws.

“Perhaps the most effective way to handle this would be to work with concerned citizens in Arizona and California who want to modify or repeal these initiatives,” he said. “I would like to know what the administration’s thinking is in this area and who is going to make these decisions as soon as possible because I think we can’t let this go without a response.”

Then, he cited the DEA and other governmental cannabis opponents, Hatch said the “asserted medical benefits of marijuana have been rejected,” “marijuana is likely to be more cancer-causing than tobacco” and that the cannabis state initiatives “send the wrong message to our youth and easily could worsen the problem.”

That’s a pretty big 180°, but we’ll take it! Now if we could just get Sessions to see the light.

Marijuana Can Help The 12 Million Patients Suffering From Spasticity

Could cannabis be the new, improved answer for patients suffering from spasticity? The roughly 12 million people worldwide who are thought to suffer from the condition would love to hear that news. Spasticity, like it sounds, refers to a variety of involuntary muscle spasms and stiffness. It is a very common symptom of multiple sclerosis, but it can also be the result of other conditions such as cerebral palsy, stroke and brain or spinal cord trauma.

Using cannabis for calming muscles is not a new approach. In the mid-1840s, before prohibition, physicians prescribed cannabis tinctures and extracts for inflammation, muscle spasms, delirium tremens (DTs) and a host of other conditions.

The traditional modern treatments for spasticity includes use of muscle relaxants like baclofen, injecting people with botulism and physical therapy. Sometimes the situation is so dire that the patient even resorts to surgery to implant muscle relaxant pumps and to permanently sever the roots of nerves.

Times and approaches change. Since 2010, Canadian patients have had access to Sativex, a prescription combination of THC and CBD in a peppermint flavored oral spray.

A large study looked at the use of Sativex by over 900 patients in the UK, Germany and Switzerland with treatment-resistant multiple sclerosis spasticity. The patients were given the drug for daily dosings and evaluated to see how well they maintained their therapy regimen. The study revealed that 68 percent of the patients voluntarily stayed on their cannabis medicine at least one year. An additional 207 Spanish patients in specialized MS centers had equally successful “continuation rates” of staying on the cannabis-based medicine.

Additionally, German researchers studied 16 young patients ranging in age from 1 to 26 with “complex neurological conditions with spasticity.” The subjects were given daily drops of a synthetic cannabinoid, dronabinol (Marinol). Researchers concluded that “in the majority of pediatric palliative patients, the treatment with dronabinol showed promising effects in treatment resistant spasticity.”

It’s not magic, but it may feel that way to people whose conditions have been hard to manage and have not had success with other therapeutic approaches. THC is believed to engage the endocannabinoid system to block inflammation and improve the natural communication between muscles and nerves. Some researchers believe that this reduction in inflammation can even slow the progression of the disease and the increasing disability it creates.

The good news is that the word is spreading about the potential impact of cannabis on spasticity, particularly among the MS patient community.

In Canada alone, one in five MS patients currently use medical marijuana in some form. For these patients and others who experience the debilitating condition of spasticity, this is hope, and hope is profoundly important.

4 At-Home Hacks To Make Your Marijuana High Last Longer

Smoking weed produces effects that generally last for short periods of time. If you’re looking for simple ways of prolonging your marijuana high for whatever reason (because you’re running out of weed or because you don’t want to waste any more money) you can try these four simple solutions.

Even though these methods are not scientifically proven – because research in this area is extremely lax –  there’s enough anecdotal data gathered from all over the web that makes us believe that this list is worth your time.

Mangoes

https://giphy.com/gifs/google-mango-google-doodle-fruit-games-l2SpXJld9scAQIVbi

The pairing of marijuana and mangoes works really well, especially when consuming the fruit some time before you smoke a joint or bowl. Mangoes work best when consumed raw and juicy, but the effect it has on you depends on your body and the type of marijuana you’re consuming. Mangoes contain myrcene, a chemical that’s also in marijuana, interacting with each other and producing a stronger and lengthier high.

Tea

According to MarijuanaBreak.com, tea contains antioxidants that make a smooth combination when paired with cannabis, binding with our cannabinoid receptors. This combination will improve your mood and it’ll also produce a relaxing, mellow, and long lasting high.

Nuts

Nuts are a great option for the munchies, satisfying your craving and providing a healthy amount of calories that won’t make you feel super guilty. They also contain large amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids, which bind with the cannabinoids in marijuana.

Beer

https://giphy.com/gifs/shakeshack-beer-cheers-steins-mOOuUUIEEgq6A

While not only prolonging the high, drinking a beer will also make it extra strong due to the alcohol (that increases the THC’s power) and the terpenes that are available in hops, the raw form of beer. There’s a reason why these two are such a pleasant and common pairing.

Former Manager Of US Aerospace Program Claims UFOs Are Real

To The Stars Academy Of Arts And Sciences is a public benefit corporation founded by Tom DeLonge, you know, that guy from Blink 182 and Angels and Airwaves. Tom has had a life long passion for the galaxy, the stars, and the world’s mysteries, which made him develop this program that wants to advance and develop the necessary technology to solve the world’s “unexplained phenomenons” and mysteries.

The company has three main areas of focus that are aerospace, entertainment, and science, and it counts with the support of important people within different fields, such as Luis Elizondo, a man who’s had experience in the DOD and who’s worked for over 25 years at the CIA, and Steve Justice, who worked for the defense of aerospace for over 30 years.

While To The Stars has some standard goals such as developing entertaining and well researched science fiction content, it’s members also believe that they can provide information that the U.S. government hasn’t shared with the world, and that this could potentially change the way we live our lives.

The Huffington Post reports that during a conference, Luis Elizondo confirmed the existence of UFOs. He’d made this discovery while working for the DOD, and his current plans include sharing this information with the public.

We are also planning to provide never before released footage from real US Government systems…not blurry, amateur photos, but real data and real videos. We are inviting our Government colleagues and friends in Defense to participate regularly with their own findings.”

Elizondo claims that the discovered unidentified objects did not exhibit overt hostility, but that the U.S. government didn’t understand how they worked. To The Stars plans on gathering the necessary knowledge and information to solve these mysteries and to share it with the world.

Learning All About CBD Beer With Portland’s Coalition Brewing

Portland, Oregon based Coalition Brewing has the distinction of being one of the only breweries in the United States that currently brews a CBD beer. According to Phil Boyle, Beer Ambassador for Coalition Brewing, they became interested in doing a CBD beer back in August 2016 after they heard about a CBD beer made by Dads and Dudes Breweria in Colorado.

Researching CBD Beer

With their interest peaked in the possibility of brewing a CBD beer they began conducting research which they have made available on their website. They didn’t want to produce a gimmicky beer where they simply added CBD oil into an already brewed beer. Rather, they explored how to create a synergy using these two plants’ profiles. So, they learned about the similarities between cannabis and hops and how both plants produce similar organic aromatic compounds known as terpenes. These terpenes include myrcene (a relaxant found in both hemp and hops), limonene (the primary component in lemon oil, also prevalent in hemp and hops), and pinene (an energizing term found in basil, hemp, hops, and pine).

Then Boyle and head brewer Elan Walsky were invited to the Canna Society Soirée in September 2016 where they met Bill Stewart, with Half Baked Labs, a chemical engineer and cannabis chef. Stewart recalls that encounter. “We ended up sitting together and talking all evening about the project. The following Monday, I got together with them with samples of various hemp infusions so that they could learn about the flavors, aromas, and routes of infusion for hemp.”

Two Flowers CBD Beer

Walksy designed the first brew around the flavor and aroma of fresh pressed hemp juice to make their first CBD beer. Two Flowers, a West Coast style IPA (ABV: 6% and IBU: 55) possesses grassy citrus notes and a crisp hop forward taste thanks to its combination of Cascade and Sentinel hops, hemp juice, and a proprietarily CBD oil (product) blend made so that it’s OLCC compliant.

They followed up this year round beer with seasonal CBD beers such as a Lemon and Basil CBD Sour. These added flavors to the beer are also closely related to hops and cannabis on the terpene spectrum, Boyle added they plan to release a Double Chocolate Stout in November. As Coalition Brewing is only a 10-barrel brewery, they choose to focus on producing select quality seasonals designed for those who appreciate the quest to find a singular craft beer.

Presently, their CBD beers are only available on tap from their tasting room, as well as select other locations listed on their website. Boyle adds they will not be bottling any CBD beer until they receive approval from the Federal government.

In addition to brewing CBD beer, they plan to offer social events. For example, recently, they hosted a CBD dinner that consisted of four courses of food infused with CBD and Hops and paired with their CBD beers. At these social events Boyle hopes to introduce the normal beer drinker who doesn’t use cannabis into the health and wellness benefits of trying a CBD beer. Conversely, he would like for cannabis users who don’t drink beer to experience the sensation of adding beer to their CBD consumption.

Boyle stresses that as these beers are made without THC, they do not produce any psychoactive effects. Also, many peered reviewed studies on our website state those who consume CBD beers will still pass a drug test.

Celebrating Oregon Craft

Just as Boyle has formed relationships with craft hops farmers and craft distillers like Indio Spirits, he’s begun to cultivate similar relationships with craft cannabis farmers such as Yerba Buena and Cascade High Organics. These partnerships highlight the unique synergy that can be found within Oregon’s growing legalized recreational market.

Photos by Becky Garrison

Take for example Oregon’s Fresh Hops season, the annual harvesting of Hops which occurs in early Fall. This harvest that happens to coincide at the same time that outdoor cannabis is harvested points to the unique attributes of this region as a place that can celebrate both cannabis and beer. Coalition partnered with Crosby Hops Farms and Boring Hemp Company to produce a beer first of its kind. This is one of the only regions geographically where brewers can get both fresh hops and cannabis that have been harvested less than three hours ago. This combination of freshness produces a singular product that cannot be found anywhere else.

Though CBD beer remains in its infancy, Boyle has hopes for the future. “I predict the CBD beer trend will continue as we get more into the market and people become more educated about CBD. We cannot tout overall benefits even though we strongly agree with them unless we are referencing a specific study.”
