Prince William And Kate Middleton Want Another Baby

It may not seem like the best time for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to expand their family, what, with those pesky rumors surrounding them regarding not only an alleged affair, but their reported feud with in-laws Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. But there’s talk that the couple is planning a fourth child. And before you start thinking this would be the ultimate PR stunt (Band-Aid kids are nothing new), a source who claims to be a friend of the couple’s says Kate and William desperately want to expand their brood.

“They adore being parents,” the friend tells Closer Weekly.

“William and Kate definitely want to have one more child — they’d love to have two girls and two boys!”

Regardless of timing, it makes sense that both would want a little sis for Charlotte to bond with. Kate has a close sister in Pippa Middleton and William grew up incredibly close to his brother. Who does Charlotte have? Louis and George will likely be the two siblings with the most in common, no?

And while personally the timing couldn’t be worse, it is actually a good time for the couple to bring another kid into the world. Charlotte joins big brother George in attending school full-time in September, which means only Louis is left at home during the day. Says the friend, “They’re at their happiest when they are surrounded by their family.”

Earlier this year, Middleton chatted it up with a 5-month-old little boy and his father, Alan Barr, during a trip to Northern Ireland. “He’s gorgeous. It makes me feel broody,” Duchess Kate said of the tot. For those of you who don’t speak British slang, “broody” basically means “nesting.” Like, Kate was saying she felt like she wanted another baby. Or was she just making small talk?

Barr straight up asked Kate, “Baby number four?” in which Middleton replied with a laugh and a  “I think William would be a little worried.” Maybe things have changed, now that baby Archie has arrived. Perhaps the new royal has sent those maternal instincts into overdrive? We’ll find out soon enough.

New York Strikes Deal To Decriminalize Marijuana At The 11th Hour

While it wasn’t exactly the expansion marijuana advocates desired in New York, the state took a significant step toward marijuana reform nonetheless in the closing moments of its legislative session. Lawmakers agreed to further decriminalize cannabis in New York and automatically expunge low-level marijuana offenses across the state. The bill will head to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s desk, who is expected to sign it into law.

This is no doubt a big deal for New Yorkers. Possession up to two ounces will now be considered a violation, rather than a crime. Those caught with less than an ounce will face a $50 fine while up to two ounces will net a $200 penalty.

“This is not the final step, but it will lay the groundwork for full decriminalization and legalization,” Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said in a statement.

The measure was the state legislature’s apparent Plan B after talks stalled, and eventually crumbled, around legalizing cannabis for adult-use in New York. Gov. Cuomo had made grand gestures toward pushing through such legislation, and some even thought there was a possibility of a last-second deal, but nothing of that nature came to fruition.

Cuomo was high on the decriminalization bill, saying in an interview with WMAC this will make a big difference for those unfairly punished by the criminal justice system.

“It does a lot, makes a major change,” Cuomo said in the radio interview. “It makes the situation much better especially for the black and brown community that has paid such a high price.”

Taylor Swift’s ‘You Need To Calm Down’ Buzz

Taylor Swift is no stranger to controversy and polarizing opinions. Her style has always been sincere, with the subtlety of a freight train when it comes to exposing her feelings — a jarring fact for the unconverted. This week, with the release of a new single and an accompanying music video, Taylor Swift fans and haters have had tons to talk about and fight over.

“You Need To Calm Down,” a song dedicated to the LGBTQ community, features cameos from queer superstars like the Fab 5, Adam Rippon, Hayley Kiyoko and Ellen DeGeneres. It also features Katy Perry in a burger costume, resolving one of the most iconic celebrity feuds in the last decade.

Many members of the queer community have been thankful and grateful for the representation, but a large percentage have accused Swift of pandering. It’s not hard to see why once you realize that the video tries to do a little bit of everything. In 4 minutes it resolves a celebrity feud and packs in tons of celebrity cameos that are there because Swift has the power and influence. Also, the song is not good at all.

No matter people’s opinions and the video’s controversies, a lot of memes were born and published. Check out some of the funniest reactions below:

Which Is Better, Indoor Or Outdoor Weed?

Take a walk around any cannabis-related event this summer and you’ll meet pot growers from all over the country. You will know they are on the cultivation scene right away since they won’t be able to stop yapping about how their weed is the best, how it produces higher yields than most and comes packed with more THC than any other strain known to man. But which is better, indoor or outdoor weed?

In a lot of ways, marijuana growers can be more arrogant than musicians, chefs and other creative professions where bringing something to life is all part of a day’s work. But if you really want to have some fun with these people, just engage them in a conversation about which cultivation method is better: indoor or outdoor. Rest assured, they will be closing the gates on you long before these guys and gals sort it out.

Now that marijuana is legal in more parts of the world, cultivation is done mostly indoors. It allows science and technology to step in and take a lot of the guesswork out of the steps needed to ensure healthy plants. But for many years, long before there was ever such a thing as Chong’s Choice or Willie’s Reserve, marijuana was grown exclusively outdoors. In fact, researchers recently discovered that the herb was used 2,500 years ago in the Pamir Mountains in western China. This is the earliest known civilization to consume marijuana to get high. These people didn’t have indoor plumbing, let alone some snazzy inside operation to grow pot. They just let nature do its thing.

RELATED: So, You Want To Learn How To Grow Marijuana Outdoors

In spite of all the technological advancements over the past few decades, marijuana is still grown outdoors in the United States. It is found more in the southern parts of the nation as a means for producing weed to be sold on the black market. But it is also a concept being embraced in legal states.

Here’s why.

Outdoor grow operations are far less expensive to set up and maintain than building some elaborate indoor cultivation center with lighting, temperature controls and automatic watering mechanisms. Sure, the indoor digs allow the grower more control when it comes to manufacturing this delicate crop, but it could also be argued that it eliminates some of the skill from the process. Above all, outdoor growers must rely on sunlight, the Earth and makeshift irrigation systems to produce results.

Meanwhile, as with nature, outdoor growers must be prepared for the schizophrenic weather conditions that can take its toll on plants. In some cases, there is also the added risk of law enforcement eyes from the sky. Therefore, outdoor plants grown in areas of prohibition may endure a rush harvest, as opposed to the “we’ve got all the time in the world,” mentality that is allowed with indoor operations.

RELATED: Power Of The Plant: Growing Your Own Medical Marijuana

Many argue that the quality of the marijuana grown indoors is vastly superior to a product left to mature in the elements. There is no denying that giving cannabis plants the special care that comes from being in a controlled environment brings to life some rather potent, tasty buds. But there is still something to be said about marijuana that was organically grown outdoors where it got its start 28 million years ago.

There are even some consumers that prefer outdoor weed to indoors. And a lot of times, the quality of the product doesn’t differ enough so that the average person could tell which setting the weed was actually grown. Pot consumers in Georgia do not care that the marijuana they’re getting might have a smidge less THC than the scientifically produced stuff coming out of Colorado.

Make no mistake about it, all of the pot consumers in this country, regardless of whether their marijuana is grown indoors or outdoors, are getting as stoned as they want to be. Some scientists even say that there comes a certain point when pot potency really has more to do with individual tolerance than THC percentage points. So, there’s that. In the end, marijuana wants to grow. We’ve said this before. If you don’t have the financial wherewithal to go full blown mad science with your cannabis crop, you can produce a favorable result by just partnering with nature.

Meghan Markle Appears In Trailer For Final Season Of ‘Suits’

Via iHeart Radio:

Meghan Markle departed USA network’s popular legal drama Suits at the end of its seventh season to become the Duchess of Sussex. Her on-screen husband, Patrick J. Adams, exited the show at the same time. Their characters, Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, rode off into the sunset together after their long-awaited wedding. While neither character appeared in the eighth season, Suits recently announced Adams would return for the ninth and final season.

After it was revealed Mike Ross would be back to stir up some trouble for his former colleagues on the show, fans were left wondering what would happen to Duchess Meghan’s character Rachel. Suits continued to tease fans by including Rachel in the season nine trailer.

So, will Duchess Meghan appear in the final season of Suits? Despite being heavily featured in the teaser, the possibility of a cameo remains unlikely. The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, spoke to Deadline about the speculation regarding Rachel recently. “I can tell you that those things in the papers, I have no idea what they’re talking about,” he said.

A source involved with Suits told The Daily Star a different story, though. “We could create a storyline where Rachel and Mike have created new lives for themselves and are starting a family, with Rachel showing an obvious baby bump,” the sourced said. “I believe we could get away with only one or two lines from Rachel, perhaps saying how she would never have believed she would have such a wonderful life. This particular route would beautifully mirror real life.”

Number Of People Driving After Smoking Weed Is Surprising

0

The number of people driving after smoking weed is surprising. The report also found that almost 7 in every 10 Americans believe it’s “unlikely” police will pull them over for driving under the influence of marijuana. What’s more, they’re probably right. Nearly 15 million Americans got behind the wheel of a car within an hour of smoking marijuana in the past 30 days, according to a study released by AAA.

Only a blood test can determine THC impairment. Unlike alcohol, this makes it highly difficult for officers to prosecute charges of driving under the influence. While there are officers who can identify THC-impaired drivers, only an estimated 8,300 police officers nationwide have received such training.

RELATED: Marijuana And Impaired Driving: This Study May Surprise You

“Marijuana can significantly alter reaction times and impair a driver’s judgement. Yet, many drivers don’t consider marijuana-impaired driving as risky as other behaviors like driving drunk or talking on the phone while driving,” Dr. David Yang, Executive Director of the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, told ABC 7. “It is important for everyone to understand that driving after recently using marijuana can put themselves and others at risk.”

However, the report highlighted that attitudes about the dangers of driving while high are unlikely to change anytime soon. Over 13% of Americans considered driving within an hour of smoking marijuana “slightly dangerous” or “not dangerous at all.” Previous studies actually highlighted that number being even higher, as half of marijuana users think they can drive while high.

We dove into the dangers of driving under the influence of marijuana before, and how traffic deaths rose following the months of marijuana legalization, only to drop back to previous levels several months later. When it comes to the law, you should also know the potential consequences of driving while high nationwide.

Why Meghan And Harry’s Nanny Only Lasted Two Weeks

Having a new baby is work and a disruption in a previous non-baby household. So things change and you might consider getting some help, including in-laws or professionals. Having already cycled through the first one, here is why Meghan and Harry’s nanny only last two weeks.

It’s being reported the couple’s first nanny left after two weeks. Did she quit? Was she fired? It’s unconfirmed, but it sounds like maybe she quit because the Lady of the House had control issues.

RELATED: 5 Things To Know About The Royal Nanny

Australian gossip magazine New Idea spoke to a source that claimed, “Meghan likes to be in control of everything.

“She just can’t have anyone be alone with Archie. She’s ignoring help.

“No one has looked after him but her.”

RELATED: Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Might Hire A ‘Manny’ To Care For Their Baby

The source says Meghan won’t let staff near her baby. That does make it hard for a nanny to do their job. Maybe Archie can learn how to Face Time?

Harper’s Bazaar confirms that the royal couple hired a new (second) nanny ahead of Harry’s busy summer schedule:

While the couple are hoping to keep personal details of the new staff member private, BAZAAR understands that the British-born female nanny is not permanently based at Frogmore Cottage or working weekends.

Norland College in Bath, England is where nannies are taught everything from child brain development to first aid to evasive driving techniques. The key skill of a modern royal nanny: the ability to always be present when needed but never to overstep.

“In the past, royal nannies were employed almost entirely on the basis of referrals from the extended royal family and British aristocracy,” says Carolyn Harris, author of Raising Royalty. “Today, royal nannies need to strike a delicate balance between providing care and emotional support for their charge while not being seen to interfere with the decision-making of royal parents.”

RELATED: Why Prince William Waited 7 Years To Propose To Kate

While her personal details may be a secret (at least for now), the fact that she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement is not. According to CheatSheet, the NDA was an extensive hard-hitting legal document that bound the new caregiver to a life of secrecy. No tell-all book for the Sussex’s! At least not one from their nanny.

Lots of drama, but know you know why Meghan and Harry’s nanny only last two weeks.

Questions If You Think You’re Boring

Worse that trying to maintain an engaging conversation with a boring coworker would be to discover that you’ve been the source of boredom all along, and that no one has had the guts to come out and say it. Here are questions if you think your boring you should ask yourself.

While boring people are exhausting and hard to communicate with, there are ways of knowing what makes them act this way, creating the chance to resolve this behavior. Psychology Today published a questionnaire developed by psychologist Barbara Greenberg, who discovered themes and patterns that boring people follow. Here are a few questions you should ask yourself in order to know if you are boring.

How are your listening skills?

https://giphy.com/gifs/maury-listen-hear-up-xT8qAXAERiWiL17OYU

RELATED: 5 Ways To Make Friends Outside Of Work And School

Boring people are poor conversationalists, and poor conversationalists tend to be the worst listeners. Communication is as much about talking as it is about being silent and listening to what the other person is saying. An engaging conversation isn’t one that’s filled with the funniest jokes and the most interesting stories, it’s one where both people are listening to each other and are active participants. Try to be as curious as possible, listening to people’s stories, asking relevant questions and letting them express themselves.

Do you interrupt people or not talk at all?

https://giphy.com/gifs/vmas-katy-perry-video-music-awards-l4FsH9C52X3aYVM1a

While basic “your turn, my turn” conversation etiquette is learned from a young age, it’s surprising how many people have no self-control and allow themselves to take over conversations without giving the other person a chance to speak. Control your impulses and push yourself to listen to others. If your problem is that you’re too shy and have a hard time opening up, try to practice and to find ways of making yourself more accessible and of speaking your mind.

Are people bored when they speak to you?

RELATED: Teens Have Less Face Time With Their Friends—And Are Lonelier Than Ever

Keep an eye out for people’s body languages whenever you’re talking to them. If they look distracted, are avoiding eye contact and keep on trying to change the subject then you are probably acting very annoying and boring. Train yourself to pick up on these hints and social cues and try to avoid overstaying your conversational welcome.

Are you too vulnerable?

https://giphy.com/gifs/theshadowsfx-Y3SI1GdBsEiGCYZzR8

Balance is one of the most important parts of conversations but it’s also pretty hard to define. Vulnerability is needed for a meaningful exchange, but too much of it and it’s kind of disastrous. Complaining about how awful your life is and how unfair your job will not gain you any friends, even if this is a common behavior. Always aim for sincerity and get to know your audience; don’t tell a stranger your deepest and darkest secrets.

Willie Nelson Just Invented The Best Job At His Marijuana Company

By now, you would think Willie Nelson has discovered all the ways to consume as much cannabis to last him a lifetime. The Red-Headed Stranger launched his cannabis company, Willie’s Reserve, to great acclaim, and Nelson partially credits the quality of product to its success. In a recent interview on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Nelson says he has a direct hand in ensuring the product’s quality. Now Willie Nelson just invented the best job at his marijuana company.

And what exactly is his role in doing so, you might ask? That would be CTO, or Chief Testing Officer, a job Nelson created for himself at his company.

“[I’m] chief tester,” Nelson said. “I haven’t run across any that I didn’t like.”

RELATED: Why Marijuana Companies Are Rebranding Themselves As Health Care Companies

Nelson also says marijuana saved his life, a story similar to the one he shared to Rolling Stone when he was on the cover for the magazine’s “Weed Issue.”

“I used to smoke two or three packs of cigarettes a day and drink whatever there was there to drink. I had pneumonia four or five times, my lung collapsed, I almost died,” the singer said.

“I said, ‘Wait a minute. I ain’t getting that high off of Chesterfields.’ So I throw out the cigarettes, rolled up 20 joints, stuck it in there. I haven’t had a cigarette since,” he added.
