Meme Of The Week: ‘And I Oop’ Is The Internet’s New Favorite Expression

This meme is ancient in internet years, having made its first appearance in a 2015 video from Jasmine Masters called “Jasmine Masters handle your liquor.”

In it, Masters, a drag queen from “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, advises people on how to handle their liquor. Although the content is valid and very entertaining, the thing that made it go viral doesn’t happen until the very end of the clip, when the now iconic expression is introduced.

Like with many internet things, it’s hard to find what makes this video so appealing to so many people, although I think there’s just something very truthful and hilarious about Masters’ reaction.

The ‘and I oop’ memes have been making their rounds full-force during the past week, with some people even adopting the term outside of the internet. Here, we’ve included some of our favorite reactions. Check them out:

Nick Jonas Was Afraid Siblings Would ‘Never Speak to Me Again’; Kylie Jenner Called ‘A Scam’ For Skin Promo Video

Nick Jonas Was Afraid Siblings Would ‘Never Speak to Me Again’

Via People Magazine:

In an upcoming interview with CBS This Morning, brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas, open up about the impact their 2013 split had on their relationship as bandmates and siblings.

“I checked out in my mind that – that was it. There’s going to be no more brothers ever,” Joe, 29, told host Tracy Smith in the interview, which will air in full on Sunday.

“And I feared that, you know, we – they would never speak to me again,” added Nick, 26, who has previously admitted that he was responsible for breaking up the band.

Opening up about what led to the split, Nick shared that there was no “simple” explanation.

“To call it creative differences is almost too simple,” he said. “And I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren’t selling. We were making music that I don’t think we were all super proud of, and it wasn’t connected.”

“So I had a very tough conversation with them where I laid it out for them,” Nick explained. “I said, ‘You know, I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more, and we should go on individual journeys.’ And it didn’t go so well.”

However, while the brothers went through their share of difficulties, Joe believes it’s all been worth it.

“We definitely were supposed to go through all of what we went through to get to this point,” he shared. “I think it was, it was kind of, I guess you could say destiny, whatever it may be, but yeah, we got a do-over, and I think this time around we’re going to do it right.”

Kylie Jenner Faces Backlash Over Kylie Skin Promo Video: ‘You’re A Scam’

Via Lite FM/iHeart Radio:

Right after launching Kylie Skin, the 21-year-old billionaire faced criticism for including a walnut face scrub in her new line. That type of ace scrub (think St. Ives Apricot Scrub) have fallen out favor with dermatologists and consumers in recent years as it’s believed the walnut/apricot pieces can cause tears in the skin.

Some fans went off after Kylie recommended using the scrub as frequently as three times a week and called it her “secret to a fresh face.” One fan replied to Kylie Skin’s official Twitter account, saying Kylie’s “secret” is actually “being a billionaire who gets consistent facial treatments by professionals, as well as cosmetic enhancements like fillers and has access to exspensive skincare products.”

Well, Kylie is facing similar outrage after sharing a Snapchat video where she can be seen washing her face with the Kylie Skin Foaming Face Wash. In the short video, Kylie can be seen rubbing the face wash into her skin for less than ten seconds before rinsing it off and drying off with a white towel. There are three problems with this video. The first is that Kylie barely spends any time actually using the product. The second issue is that a ton of foundation comes off on the towel when Kylie wipes her face. Lastly, Kylie is using a Snapchat filter in the video, so, it’s actually hiding her skin from her followers.

Not long after sharing the video on Twitter and Instagram, fans started calling Kylie out for “lazy” promo video. Some even went so far as to call Kylie a “scammer.”

Ben & Jerry’s Needs Your Help To Make CBD Ice Cream

Ice cream flavors with names like Half-Baked and Phish Food should’ve been enough to realize Ben & Jerry’s is a fan of cannabis. Just in case you hadn’t made the connection yet, the hippie ice cream company wants to make it crystal clear with its latest announcement: Ben & Jerry’s really wants to make CBD ice cream and wants your help to do it.

The problem is infusing CBD into food and beverages is currently prohibited by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Although the FDA isn’t known to passionately enforce that rule, the federal administration will have a public hearing May 31 on the issue. Ben & Jerry’s has already submitted its supportive comments, and wants consumers to join the cause.

“We’re doing this for our fans,” said Ben & Jerry’s CEO Matthew McCarthy. “We’ve listened and brought them everything from Non-Dairy indulgences to on-the-go portions with our Pint Slices. We aspire to love our fans more than they love us and we want to give them what they’re looking for in a fun, Ben & Jerry’s way.”

According to restaurateurs and chefs, cannabis and CBD-infused dishes will be the food trend of 2019. Ben & Jerry’s very much wants to participate in that trend. By the way, this isn’t another case of a company joining the cannabis bandwagon to turn a quick buck. On 4/20 this year, the company also called for criminal justice reform in conjunction with cannabis legalization. In fact, the company said, “Legalization without justice is half-baked.”

To learn more about how you can contact the FDA about changing its ordinance on CBD-infused food, you can visit the Ben & Jerry’s website here.

Let’s Talk About Your Drinking Habits And How Harmful They Might Be

We’ve all been there. Those weeks where there’s just too much drinking going on simply because circumstances lend themselves to it. Maybe you have family and friends who are visiting or you’ve had a tough week at work, prompting you to drink more than usual. Whatever the reason, one study shows a 30% increase in high-risk drinking in Americans between 2002 and 2013.

While there are new health trends that are positively affecting a large percentage of people, alcohol still is one of the main providers of fun and stress relief in the world.

RELATED: The Key To Treating Alcoholism With Medical Marijuana

If you’re growing concerned by your drinking patterns, it’s important to ask yourself two questions: Is there a history of alcoholism in your family and how important is alcohol to your everyday life?

Alcohol and drug use are influenced by genetics, increasing your odds of suffering from the same conditions as your parents and grandparents. Another red flag is asking yourself if alcohol has affected your personal relationships and professional opportunities.

RELATED: What To Expect When Combining Alcohol And Cannabis

Here’s what you can do to confront this problem:

Hold yourself accountable

If you think that you’re drinking too much, reduce the amount of alcohol you’re consuming on a weekly basis. Save drinking for social activities and special occasions, avoiding a beer or a glass of wine after work, at least for a period of time. Put a cap on your social drinking, limiting your amount of drinks per outing. Try ordering smaller portions and have smaller sips. Drink water in between alcoholic drinks in order to manage and delay alcohol’s effect on your bloodstream.

Go on a break

If you find it easier to simply go on a break, then do that. Set a time limit and commit to it, trying out other options if you find yourself in social situations and confiding in friends so that no one pressures you into breaking your promise.

Try marijuana

While substituting one addictive behavior for another is not the best thing you can do, marijuana has proven itself as a viable option for people who want to take a break from alcohol and its negative side effects. Marijuana produces no hangover and no harmful physical damage. It’s important to remember that all drugs should be consumed in moderation, no matter their side effects.

Talk to someone

Having an honest discussion with someone who’s close to you can help a lot, keeping you accountable and keeping an eye out for your behavior. This person can also help you when you’re out, reminding you of your break or keeping track of the amount of alcohol you’ve consumed.

Get help

Do some research and figure out the different options that you have at your disposal. Your health insurance provider should provide you with options regarding different kinds of treatment. If you prefer something more private, try out the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration at 800-662-HELP.

The Sneaky Way Kate Middleton Is Stealing The Spotlight From Meghan Markle

Before Meghan Markle came along with her Hollywood status, lifestyle blog and idolized fashion sense, Kate Middleton ruled the royal roost. But now that Markle has a newborn baby and Prince Harry to keep her in the spotlight, the Duchess of Cambridge is subtly letting people know she’s not going to take a backseat to anyone.

If you’ve noticed, Kate has been in the news more than usual lately. Sure, one of the reasons is because her husband is accused of cheating on her, but the Kensington Palace Instagram account is filled with family photos. Cute behind-the-scenes look at royal life? Sure. Well-time PR stunt? Absolutely.

May 19. Any royal watcher knows that’s the date of Meghan and Harry’s wedding anniversary. Coincidence? It could be, but it’s unlikely, as royal social media platforms aren’t managed on a whim. They photos are intentional.

“What you have is a couple not wanting to be overshadowed and a couple not wanting to be sidelined,” royal expert Camilla Tominey told UK’s This Morning show recently, adding, “Why would you release photographs that [the newspapers] all want to run? It seems like there’s a bit of a clash.”

Study Links Adolescent Cannabis Use To Memory Loss

A new study reveals that using cannabis as a minor could lead to developing memory problems later in life. Researchers found that the more adolescents used cannabis, the lower they scored on memory tests, inhibition control, and reasoning.

According to Newsweek, these findings were announced at the 13th Annual Canadian Neuroscience Meeting and are expected to be published in the American Journal of Physiology later this year. To reach these conclusions, scientists polled 3,826 students from grades 7-11 attending schools in Montreal, Canada. Students were guaranteed their answers would be anonymized and protecting, encouraging them to answer as honeslty as possible.

RELATED: Does Using Cannabis Make You Forgetful?

The survey included questions on whether the students used cannabis or alcohol. If so, what was the frequency they used those substances on a 6-point scale ranging from “never” to “everyday” and how much they’d consume in a given instance. Students also gave information on socioeconomic status and sex to determine if other variables factored into the equation.

Then the students were given tests on “their memory, visual reasoning skills and inhibition levels.” Adolescent alcohol usage did not create the same cognitive problems that cannabis did. Researchers also found in a follow-up interview that those cognitive problems also presented themselves later in the adolescents’ lives.

“The work highlights some of the cognitive problems young people experience at a point in their life when they need optimal memory, problem-solving and concentration to ensure they maximize their educational potential, cannabis appears to impair their cognitive ability,” Ian Hamilton, a University of York professor not involved with the research, told Newsweek.

RELATED: Your Brain On Weed: Concussions And Cannabis

But Hamilton also mentioned the possible limitations of the study.

“We also don’t know how many young people just happened to use cannabis at the time the researchers assessed them, equally there could be young people who weren’t using cannabis at the point of assessment but did use cannabis at other times between assessments, we just don’t know.”

As legalization movements march onward, it’s important to keep this type of research in mind as well. Cannabis affects everyone differently. Until we know more, it’s best to discourage chronic or frequent teen substance use.

NBA Commissioner On Basketball Players Using Marijuana: ‘It’s A Complicated Issue’

Thanks in part to the NFL’s announcement it would study cannabis as a pain management tool, the intersection of marijuana and professional sports has entered the mainstream as of late. Curiosity abounds on whether the plant could be used in recovery and possibly preventing traumatic brain injuries for professional athletes.

With top-level sports leagues like the NBA and NFL still testing and punishing its players for marijuana use, despite players living in legal states and former players admitting to using cannabis, those leagues are being forced to re-examine their stance on cannabis.

RELATED: James Harden’s Eye Injury Inspired A Relatable Meme For Marijuana Users

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was recently posed this question on an episode of the Yahoo! Sports “Posted Up” podcast. Silver emphasized that any changes made to the league’s substance policy would first have to be collectively bargained between the player’s union. But he did mention that it’s a conversation happening around the league.

“When I’ve talked to players about it, I think they have mixed feelings. It’s not so much about what guys do in the summer,” Silver said. “If they want to smoke pot, whatever, it’s legal in a lot of states. We have no issue with that.”

He mentioned that some players worry others are smoking too much marijuana during the season. Their concern isn’t so much about play on the court — “It’s certainly not a performance-enhancing drug,” Silver said — but what’s happening off the court that drives a player to consume so much marijuana.

“One of the things I’ve been talking more about in the past several years is mental wellness of our players,” Silver said. “Some guys are smoking pot in the same way some guys would take a drink. Just using it to calm down a little bit or using it to relax, no big deal. It’s no issue, which is why I think it’s been legalized in a lot of states.

“On the other hand, there’s guys in the league who are smoking a lot of pot,” he added. “Then the question becomes, ‘Well, why are you smoking a lot of pot?’ And that’s where mental wellness comes in. Because I’ve directly talked to players who say I’m smoking a lot of pot because I have a lot of anxiety and I’m struggling.”

And while Silver did acknowledge feelings over the NBA still testing for marijuana was seen as “uncool,” he wanted more research available before making any conclusive decision. Like the NFL, the NBA is studying how the plant could be used for pain management. But the league also wants to be sure because of what possible message they’re sending to kids.

“When we change our policy we have to be really careful because we’re clearly sending a message to young people,” Silver said. “Just like with alcohol, you have to teach young people how to use a substance appropriately and responsibly so it doesn’t overwhelm your life. It’s a complicated issue.”

5 Tricks That Will Help You Cope With Deadline Panic

Procrastination is a real problem (for some of us more than others). Still, everyone at some point in their lives feels like they could have managed a situation better, like taking advantage of their time and ensuring that they’re not finishing up a complex task in 15 minutes when they had an entire week to prepare for it

Situations like these lend themselves to panic and anxiety, leaving you staring ahead at a wall unable to move instead of, you know, just doing the thing that you’re supposed to be doing. These feelings of discomfort can be triggered by a lot of things, like having a lot of responsibilities or realizing that your to-do list was way too ambitious for your own good.

Here’s what you can do in order to shake off that feeling of panic and get to work.

Take deep breaths

https://giphy.com/gifs/true-and-the-rainbow-kingdom-cat-netflix-3o6fJ46kqfVubBCc0g

If you have an hour to complete a task, you can still take a five minutes to take some deep breaths and chill out. Your stressed out work won’t be your best. You screwed up already, so breathe from your stomach, forgive yourself and re-frame that hour in your head. View it as a period of 60 minutes, making you realize that you still have some time to get some decent work done. When you’re in a serious time crunch it’s important to complete your task as best as possible and to learn from the situation. You should avoid these scenarios since they feel awful and they are completely avoidable with some foresight.

Keep things simple

https://giphy.com/gifs/will-ferrell-lol-weed-Ct2fBe0rc69nq

If you have too many tasks, keep it simple and prioritize. Avoid multitasking since this just dilutes your attention and complete the work that is most pressing and that needs to be delivered first. If you keep your to-do lists neat and simple, you’ll realize that some time consuming tasks can be completed later on when you’re not so stressed out.

Get help from nature

https://giphy.com/gifs/parks-and-recreation-ron-swanson-finale-5yLgocAcF0DYJHZtQqs

In a panic, we tend to freeze and look at our screens without doing any work. Instead of wasting your time while stress sitting in your chair, go for a change of scenery. Go to a cafe or for a walk, allowing your brain a few minutes of peace, and get back to work feeling refreshed. Studies have found that a nice view and some headspace facilitates work from students, making them more productive.

Work in 90 minute intervals

RELATED: The Good News: Check Out These 5 Health Benefits Of Stress

Most of us have relatively short attention spans, making the task of working for four hour straight seem daunting and unrealistic. Set a timer for 90 minutes where you disconnect from your phone and social media. Focus for that period of time and relax when your timer goes off. You’ll get more work done though this method instead of spending hours trying to study or complete work when you’re not completely invested in what you’re doing.

Reward yourself with something nice

https://giphy.com/gifs/drpepper-diet-dr-pepper-lil-sweet-YjRQ4FfNbKfZcxG6gY

If you have a week filled with commitments and things to do, schedule your days in advance, marking your work hours just as your recreational ones. During these periods of time do something you want to do, like reading a chapter of a book, watching a 30-minute episode of a TV show or having a facetime call with a friend. These activities will make your workload less daunting and provide you with some much needed fun.

Google Cracks Down On Marijuana Sale And Delivery Apps

The Google Play store is no longer allowing apps to facilitate marijuana purchases or deliveries, no matter the product in question or the state’s legal status of the plant.

Here are some examples of common violations according to Google Play:

  • Allowing users to order marijuana through an in-app shopping cart feature.
  • Assisting users in arranging delivery or pick up of marijuana.
  • Facilitating the sale of products containing THC.”

Google gave companies 30 days to adapt to these new policies, which, according to company statements, are only concerned with removing delivery and sale features from the Play Store.

RELATED: ‘Not For Kids’ Strict Labeling For Marijuana Products For Washington State

“These apps simply need to move the shopping cart flow outside of the app itself to be compliant with this new policy. We’ve been in contact with many of the developers and are working with them to answer any technical questions and help them implement the changes without customer disruption.” said Google in a statement to Android Police.

Following a crackdown on internet security — largely focused on children’s safety — and an FTC complaint in December that prompted investigations into kids apps on the Play Store, Google is trying hard to clean their image and to remain a safe space for children.

RELATED: Is Facebook Blocking Marijuana-Related Searches?

Android users will be able to download marijuana delivery apps through other sites but these new rules could hinder some cannabis businesses, particularly those located in states where marijuana is legal. Google’s crackdown is excessive, ignoring state laws and being unwilling to find solutions like enforcing age restrictions on apps that facilitate cannabis services.

Southern Lawmakers Still Seem Apprehensive About Marijuana

When searching for some of the most depraved parts of the United States, all one has to do is head south. This friendly area may give off the vibe as being a Bible-thumping cult of Jesus Crispies, a place that, for better or worse, is built on strict moral fiber and family traditions – and it might just be.

But it is also where the Devil lives.

Anyone who has ever spent time in New Orleans can attest to this. It’s where the bars seldom close and drugs, well, everything from cocaine to heroin is readily available on the streets. It’s no wonder why this is where you’ll find some of the highest addiction rates in the country.

RELATED: Cancer Patients Should Just Buy Marijuana On The Streets, Says Alabama Senator

This also happens to be where lawmakers are most apprehensive about drug reform. This is especially true when it comes to the legalization of marijuana.

In Alabama, a state where opioids are doled out with rabid enthusiasm, even the concept of medical marijuana is still difficult to embrace.

The state Senate recently put its stamp of approval on a measure intended to give patients with a variety of health conditions (including pain syndromes and opioid addiction) access to therapeutic cannabis. It was a sign that real change was on its way in the southern states. That is until the measure was sent to the House Of Representatives and tangled with Speaker Mac McCutcheon.

RELATED: Here’s What Happened When New Orleans Decriminalized Marijuana

The Republican felt the issue wasn’t quite ready to be put up for a vote in the lower chamber, so he proposed the state enter into a study phase instead.

“We’re listening to the opponents and proponents on it,” McCutcheon said. “We’re gathering information. And that’s one reason that this study commission idea, I think, is going to be very significant.”

As of Thursday, that’s exactly where medical marijuana is headed in Alabama – commission mode. A proposal calling for a 15-member council to dig deeper into the legislative verbiage and regulations is now on the table. The idea is to see what might work, what will rest comfortably on the bipartisan palate, and then, whenever it feels right, take the state down that road.

Lawmakers close to the situation believe it is a compromise.

“It’s at a point where we can all work with it,” Senator Tim Melson, the bill’s sponsor, told the Montgomery Advisor. “It’s a big step and everybody is stepping out of their comfort zone.”

Further south, in Louisiana, nothing Earth-shattering is happening either with respect to marijuana legalization.

Earlier this week, the House Criminal Justice Committee took a look at a bill intended to legalize the leaf for recreational use. The proposal would have given adults 21 and older the right to possess up to an ounce of marijuana without catching any heat from the law. It would have also established a taxed and regulated retail system similar to those in other legal states.

But in the end, state lawmakers just weren’t ready to get into weed.

“We are always the last one,” said the bill’s frustrated sponsor Representative John Bagneris. “Other states are doing it, making millions and billions of dollars. We are not here to invent the wheel. The wheel is already there.”

It was no surprise that Louisiana couldn’t find a way to recreational marijuana. The state is still struggling to assemble a functional medical marijuana program. Although lawmakers passed a restrictive medicinal cannabis law in 2015, many patients are still waiting for the day when they can gain access. Because right now, there is none. The delays with cultivation and processing have been just as impressive as they are embarrassing.

Medical marijuana cannot be sold in smokable form, so all plants must be made into oils and topicals before they are retail ready. There are also snags concerning product testing. The situation is so bad that patients that were cleared to use medical marijuana over a year ago by their physicians are still waiting for the opportunity to get their hands on this medicine. It is possible that some could be serviced later this summer.

Interestingly, all of the public opinion polls published in recent months shows that both Alabama and Louisiana voters believe marijuana should be legal. Just like other parts of the country, however, lawmakers do not share in this enthusiasm. But really, these states are no more stuck in the mud than places like New York and New Jersey, which promised marijuana legalization was on the horizon. The only difference is the south isn’t making promises it can’t keep.
