Meghan Markle Is Being Defended By Actor George Clooney; Jennifer Aniston ‘Debated Back And Forth’ Inviting Brad Pitt To Her B-Day Party

Meghan Markle is being defended by actor George Clooney

DEFENDING MEGHAN …… “They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” Clooney told reporters at a press panel, according to Australia’s Who magazine.

“She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself.” “We’ve seen how that ends,” Clooney said, Who magazine reported, in reference to Princess Diana’s fatal car crash in 1997 during which she was being cashed by paparazzi.

Jennifer Aniston ‘debated back and forth’ about inviting Brad Pitt to her b-day party

Jennifer Aniston wanted to make sure all the people she holds near and dear to her heart attended her 50th birthday party, including ex Brad Pitt, a source tells PEOPLE.

“Basically, every single person who Jen loves attended. That included Brad,” the source says. “The party was a celebration of Jen’s life…Brad, for long, was a very important part of Jen’s life. She debated back and forth with friends if she should invite him,” adds the insider. “She was very happy that he showed up. Many of his close friends were at the party too.”

Even though Aniston invited her ex-husband to the bash, she “didn’t really pay any special attention to Brad,” the source explains.

“They hugged and chatted for a bit, but Jen was busy making sure all of her other guests had an amazing time,” the source shares.

Being Martha Stewart’s assistant sounds AWFUL!

Martha magnanimously blogged about how her personal assistant, Shqipe Berisha, was tasked with sorting her kaleidoscope of cosmetics into labeled clear plastic tubs in the basement dressing room of her “winter house.”

“One by one, Shqipe removes items from the bins and re-categorizes every item, re-evaluating what is still usable and discarding items that are too old or expired. This process is tedious, but it is always a good idea to clean out makeup and other beauty care supplies every few months.”

Stewart proudly posted photos of the orderly finished product, including one shot revealing a full labeled box of “enema kits” (said to be a last resort for people with constipation, another box for “specimen collections,” “medicated patches” plus a tub of “pills” next to what appears to be an expensive tub of La Mer body lotion and Korean face masks.

Finstas Are Great For Self-Expression But Bad For Dating

0

Secondary Instagram accounts, also known as Finstas, have experienced a big boom among tweens, teens and some adults. These accounts bring some levity and genuineness to social media, allowing people to whine about their lives and process their problems in a way that’s social but also less subject to criticism. Finstas are like friend groups, or virtual journals, with accounts having around 10 or 15 followers on average.

Finstas have become such a big deal that they’ve become a point of contention between couples or people who are starting to date. An article from Mashable explains that finstas are a good place to vent about the complications on your romantic life, including those awkward dates or strange Tinder interactions. Having someone you like following you can screw up that balance.

RELATED: Finstagrams: Inside The New Social Trend

Mashable interviewed different people with finstas, finding that most of them prefer to keep their accounts to themselves even when they’re dating someone.

“If there’s life news or drama I’m posting about, he’s usually the first to hear about it anyway,” says Caroline Long. “And I’ve had my finsta for a while so there’s some old, old posts about former boyfriends and issues that I’m sure wouldn’t be fun for him to peruse.”

There’s nothing wrong with having a digital space of your own, even if it’s on Instagram. The tough part is explaining what a finsta is and why you’d want to keep it private. Julie Spira, online dating expert, believes that it’s okay for couples to have a virtual space of their own.

“When you’re in a relationship, there are always things that you share with your close friends that you just might not share with your partner,” she explains.

Finstas are new and hard to understand. The account is not a friend group but it’s also not a part of social media, at least not in the traditional sense of the word. Social media apps keep finding new ways of bringing us together, giving us new tools of self expression. Sadly, there’s still no way of getting rid of the anxiety that they produce.

5 CBD Valentine’s Gifts Better For Your Health Than Chocolate

On Valentine’s Day, large romantic gestures are a given. Hold the giant heart-shaped box of truffles, though. Unfortunately, boxes of chocolate don’t exactly scream that you care about your partner’s health (or their waistline!).

Instead of candy bars, fudge, and chocolate truffles this year, why not give your beloved a CBD-infused candle, massage oil, or cannabis-scented bath salts instead? They will not only be feeling the love, but the romantic and calming vibes as well. (Plus, these gifts last longer than roses.) And on the holiday that Hallmark created, we could all really just use a bit more time to relax together, after all.

1) Infused Massage Oil

Sure, you could book a couple’s massage. That can be expensive, though, and potentially awkward—depending on whom you both get as a masseuse. We say cut out the middleman and stay home and massage each other instead. (So much more romantic this way.) This CBD-infused massage oil can work out your partner’s toughest knots, pain, and reduce inflammation. Bonus plus: It smells wonderful, too.

2) Cannabis Scented Candle

Candles are always appreciated as gifts, but don’t go for the expected scents like vanilla or sea breeze. Instead, set the scene for a romantic evening by gifting your partner this cannabis-scented candle. It also has notes of lemon, pepper, and wood-oak moss. The seductive scent is an aphrodisiac in itself.

3) CBD Bath Salts

Now that you’ve lit candles and poured a glass of wine, CBD bath salts can help you unwind for the rest of the evening. Your partner will instantly relax as their stress melts away, which may be the best form of self-care out there. These help with soreness, aches, and pains, too.

4) Fragrance oil

Perfume is a thoughtful gift, but you don’t want your partner to go around smelling like flowers or cookies, do you? (That’s a definite no to the smelling like baked goods.) Instead, gift your love this roll-on perfume oil that has hints of cannabis, patchouli, and dry amber. It’s a fresh scent that is also timeless and your number one can enjoy each and every day of the year.

 5) CBD Almond Butter

Searching for a gift that’s healthier than CBD chocolate? Try gifting your foodie partner this fancy CBD almond butter instead. Each morning they can have their toast with a side of calm and set the stage for an anxiety-free day. Warning: You might end up stealing more than a few spoonfuls for yourself.

Would Denver’s ‘High Costs’ PSAs Deter You From Smoking Weed?

Back in November 13, Denver voters approved a 3.5% tax that would be used to regulate cannabis, as well as enforce cannabis reform efforts. The tax also was designed to collect resources for education efforts around informing the city’s youth about using cannabis and the potential long-term consequences that might have. One campaign resulted in the first cannabis game show for kids called “Weeded Out.”

The city also recently launched a new “High Costs” campaign, which includes 15-second PSAs that feature pizza, burritos, and wacky, waving, inflatable, arm-flailing tube man. These ads aim to teach youth how expensive weed habits can be, how marijuana offenses could deny students federal financial aid, and inhibit motivation.

“Our High Costs campaign is designed to help Denver’s youth understand the legal, educational, health and social risks that come from using marijuana underage,” Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said. “Conversations about marijuana happen everywhere, and our goal is to provide facts that are not only accurate about the risks and realities of marijuana use, but that resonate with youth across Denver.”

Give credit where credit is due: the city of Denver wants to discourage teen marijuana use and educate them about potential consequences. This is both positive and noble. But are these all that effective? Would watching an inflatable man sink over himself make you second guess using?

Who knows. Maybe I’m only capable of looking at the ads as a 26-year-old dude instead of a whippersnapper teenager. Watch them below to decide for yourself.

Ways That Medical Cannabis Can Ease Chronic Pain

For chronic pain patients, medical cannabis is often touted as a safer alternative to prescription pain medications. It’s also more effective for long-term use than many over-the-counter remedies. These are four ways that medical cannabis can help to improve overall quality of life for people who experience chronic pain, whether due to bodily injury, disease or illness, or other conditions.

1) Treating Muscle Pain

Myofascial, or muscular pain, is one of the most common forms of chronic pain. Medical cannabis patients often use the plant for relief of persistent, intense muscle pain.

Their use is evidence-based: A study in The Journal of Pain and Symptom Management indicated that 94% of patients with HIV experienced significant muscle pain relief. Similarly, research in Pain showed that medical cannabis was effective in treating muscle pain among chronic non-cancer pain patients.

2) Easing Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic pain, or nerve pain, affects 1-2% of the population. Neuropathic pain is a common result of physical trauma, illnesses, or intensive medical treatments, from spine surgery and chemotherapy to amputation, HIV, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, or spinal cord injuries. Neuropathic pain is often persistent and intense and can be debilitating if not treated effectively.

Medical cannabis has been shown to significantly improve symptoms of neuropathic pain. One study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal showed that, when smoked three times a day for five days, marijuana lessened the daily pain intensity experienced by patients with chronic neuropathic pain.

Another study in Pain Medicine similarly revealed that symptoms of pain were significantly improved in patients with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, and multiple sclerosis who used medical cannabis.

3) Boosting Mood

Mental health symptoms and chronic pain often go hand in hand, exacerbating one another. The experience of persistent pain can increase symptoms of depression and anxiety, while patients with clinical depression and other mental illnesses report chronic pain more often than their peers.

Medical cannabis is known to boost mood and to curb depression and anxiety symptoms, which can in turn reduce pain. One study, which assessed the physical symptoms, social functioning levels, sleep quality, anxiety, and depression of medical cannabis patients, found that patients reported significantly less severe symptoms of depression after cannabis treatments.

4) Decreasing Severity of Sleep Disturbances

Like mental health symptoms, sleep disturbances—including insomnia and poor-quality sleep—often accompany and exacerbate chronic pain. Medical cannabis improves both the duration and quality of patients’ nightly rest. Research in Anaesthesia suggests that medical cannabis increases patients’ average sleep duration, as well as the amount of sleep they describe as “good quality.”

A study in Neurology on medical cannabis patients with multiple sclerosis showed similar results, with participants reporting fewer sleep disturbances after regularly using cannabis.

Arizona Considering Categorizing Porn As A Public Health Crisis

0

An Arizona state representative sees porn as a danger for the public.  In fact, she wants Arizona conferring categorizing porn as a public health crisis. The law would have no direct legal effects but it would state that porn “perpetuates a sexually toxic environment that damages all areas of our society.”

This measure was introduced by Republican state representative Michelle Udall, who argues that porn is very much like the tobacco industry and that something must be done in order to control its damages.. She claims  that porn, when viewed by minors, can affect their self-esteem, create body images, lead to eating disorders and perpetuate problematic sexual activity from a young age.

“Potential detrimental effects on pornography users include toxic sexual behaviors, emotional, mental and medical illnesses and difficulty forming or maintaining intimate relationships,” explains the measure. Udall also emphasized porn’s effect on women, and how society treats them.

According to Yahoo News, the measure passed out of the House Committee on Health & Human Services with Republican support.

While some Democrats agreed that porn addiction has become a serious problem, others believe that there’s not enough evidence to support the measure’s claims. Different democratic state representatives say considering porn a public health issue is a stretch, and these efforts should instead be focused on improving sex education on schools.

“If we really want to look at this, we should start with education. It’s embarrassing that we are one of the states that does not have medically accurate sex education. In testimony, they were trying to blame everything on pornography. That is a stretch,” says state Rep. Pamela Powers Hanley.

For this measure to pass it must first face a vote in the House and finally be approved by the Senate.

Kamala Harris Smoked Weed In College While Listening To Snoop Dogg

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) clarified her positions regarding marijuana legalization in a recent interview, where she admitted to previous smoking weed and, unlike Bill Clinton, she did inhale. The admission came during an interview with The Breakfast Club, after co-host Charlamagne Tha God brought up rumors that Harris was anti-legalization.

“I did inhale,” Harris said, laughing. “It was a long time ago, but yes. I just broke news!”

Harris added that she’d smoked a joint in college and also recalled what music was playing in the background.

“Oh yeah, definitely Snoop. Tupac for sure,” she said.

The move is not exactly groundbreaking for Harris, who announced her presidential run last month. In her book released earlier this year, she also called for legalizing marijuana as means to dismantle the failed war on drugs. During the Breakfast Club interview, Harris added that half of her family is Jamaica, which supposedly aimed to underscore her marijuana roots, and that legalizing would open the doors to necessary cannabis research.

“But I am absolutely in favor of legalizing marijuana. We’ve got to do it. We have incarcerated so many particularly young men and young men of color in a way that we have not for the same level of use of other young men,” Harris said. “And we’ve got to deal with that in addition to dealing with the fact that not all drugs are the same, and when we’re talking about marijuana.”

While Harris wasn’t the strongest ally of cannabis reform as California’s attorney general, her record as senator has been rooted her within ending prohibition at the national level. Most notably, she added her name to Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) legislation that would remove cannabis from the controlled substances list.

“Listen, I think [it] gives a lot of people joy,” Harris said. “And we need more joy.”

Meghan Markle’s Natural Birth Plan Includes A Doula And An Acupuncture Regimen

Everything that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry do, from moving into their own apartment to having a natural birth plan, is coated with a layer of radicalism. They are members of the royal family and they’re also kind of hipsters, a match that makes British tabloids’ brains short circuit.

Vanity Fair reports that Meghan Markle is planning on having her baby in the most natural way possible. Her birth plan includes an acupuncture regimen and learning a labor technique called hypnobirthing.

“Meghan has been having regular acupuncture sessions to help her unwind and relax. It’s brilliant for the blood circulation and boosting blood flow to the uterus. She plans to use acupuncture right up to her due date,” says an anonymous source.

Hypnobirth, despite its futuristic sounding name, is a technique that involves deep breathing and that’s meant to provide pain relief during labor.

The Sun reports that Meghan and Prince Harry also hired a doula, making them the first royal couple to do so in centuries. Doulas are birthing assistants who provide support to the woman before and during the birth process.

Lauren Mishcon, a doula from North London, is said to have been in conversations with Markle to fill this position. Although these rumours are unconfirmed, Mishcon is said to have been coaching Prince Harry on how to be a supporting partner throughout the birth process.

Former House Speaker John Boehner Leads New National Lobbying Group In Washington

If marijuana legalization is going to take hold in the United States like alcohol and tobacco, then it must be represented in Washington the same as other inebriation industries have done for decades. The cannabis industry seems to finally get this concept, and it is now in a position to be taken seriously on Capitol Hill rather than be the butt of constant jokes and jabs. The seriousness of this issue can be only more solidified now that one of their own is on the other side of the table.

Former House Speaker John Boehner, who joined the board of a medical marijuana company last year called Acreage Holdings, has been named the honorary chairman for the new pot lobby group the National Cannabis Roundtable (NCR). This organization, which is said to be heavily funded by the cannabis industry, is on a mission to legalize marijuana for veterans and further research on the herb that prevents it from being recognized as a legitimate medicine under the parlance U.S. standards.

RELATED: Boehner’s Cannabis Flip-Flop: Is It A Money Grab Or Is It Legit?

“The states have led on this,” Boehner told reporters on Friday. “The federal government is lagging behind.”

Although more than half the nation has legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes, the U.S. government still considers it a Schedule I narcotic. This makes it difficult for scientific minds to dig deeper into the therapeutic possibilities of the substance, and allows it to touted as a cure for severe conditions, like cancer, without substantiated evidence. Still, there is a body of anecdotal evidence out there that suggests the herb could be beneficial in the treatment of a variety of conditions. But without extensive research, the truth of its effectiveness may never be revealed.

Boehner, whose company Acreage Holdings produced the medical marijuana ad that was rejected for Super Bowl LIII, admits that he will not be a registered lobbyist for the organization but he will provide guidance for the NCR team.

Interestingly, the former House Speaker spent his entire political career opposing marijuana reform. It wasn’t until recently that he said his “thinking on cannabis has evolved.”

In additional to fighting for medical marijuana, the NCR will also work to further the ability for banks to do business with marijuana businesses and for states to have the right to legalize the leaf without federal interference.

“As the cannabis industry grows and matures, it’s vital that we work together for a common-sense legal framework for cannabis policy,” Boehner said in a press release.

RELATED: Washington Marijuana Sales Expected Grow To Over $2 Billion By 2020

The National Cannabis Roundtable is not the only cannabis lobby group working to change the minds of Congress.

Earlier this month, the Cannabis Trade Federation revealed the addition of 15 lobbyists in Washington pushing to get more lawmakers behind the Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act. The goal is this organization is to take pot reform to the next level the most straightforward way it can by getting lawmakers on board with a bill that President Trump has indicated he would sign.

It remains uncertain whether these two lobby groups will work together in any capacity to further likeminded agendas, or whether they will do as the cannabis movement has done for decades and get in each other’s way.

The Grammys Tried To Explain Why They Cut Off Drake’s Speech Mid-Sentence; Warner Bros. Looking at Robert Pattinson For Batman Role

The Grammys tried to explain why they cut off Drake’s speech mid-sentence

Drake was cut off during his speech right after a pause and saying “But…,” leading viewers to speculate whether show producers deliberately gave him the yank — amid some mild shade he was throwing at the very idea of awards shows — or whether they just figured he’d wrapped up.

Gracious and grateful las he seemed, Drake was not about to let past perceived snubs at this and other awards shows go completely un-alluded to. (He’s also made a point of avoiding Canada’s Junos, after going unrewarded on that show, even as he hosted it.) He called it “the first time in Grammy history where I actually am who I thought I was for a second, so I like that.” He asked “the kids watching, those aspiring to do music, and all my peers that make music from their heart, that do things pure and tell the truth” to “know we play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. It is not the NBA… This is a business where sometimes it is up to a bunch of people that might not understand what a mixed race kid from Canada has to say… or a brother from Houston right there, my brother Travis.

“You’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you are a hero in your hometown. If there is people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you, you already won.” And then, mid-sentence, the show cut to commercial, leading to a groan in the media room that could probably be heard all the way into the arena, where Drake was presumably still finishing his eloquent speech.

After the show, a representative for the Grammys clarified that producers did not intentionally cut off Drake but were under the impression that he had finished his speech.

“During Drake’s speech, there was a natural pause and at that moment the producers did assume that he was done and then cut to commercial,” said Sunshine Sachs’ Michael Samonte. “However the producers did speak with Drake following his speech and did offer him to come back on stage to finish whatever his thoughts were. But Drake said he was happy with what he said and didn’t have anything to add.”

NERVOUS … A new report says Taylor Swift has NOT been so confident on the set of her upcoming movie CATS.

Warner Bros. Looking at Robert Pattinson For Batman Role

Rumors about who will replace Ben Affleck in Matt Reeves’ The Batman have been swirling since his departure from the role was confirmed two weeks ago.

Several actors, both young and old, are purportedly being considered for the part, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling, Jack O’Connell and Jon Hamm. Disney star Nick Jonas has even expressed interest in becoming the Caped Crusader. However, a new rumor suggests Warner Bros. is looking at Twilight and Harry Potter star Robert Pattinson as a potential successor to the cowl.

Fan artist BossLogic shared photoshopped artwork of Pattinson as Bruce Wayne on Twitter. However it was the popular fan artist’s caption that started fueling rumors. “A choice that I never would have thought to try but been hearing some background chatter about Robert Pattinson being looked at,” BossLogic wrote, “if the talks (source) are true then all of our predictions were wrong. This might be your new Bruce.”
