Gossip: Barbara Walters Is Missing; Blac Chyna Says Tyga And Rob Kardashian Linked To Lies About Her

Yesterday, Blac Chyna spent the breakfast hours going HAM on Tyga via Snapchat. She incoherently accused him of spreading lies, not paying child support, being gay and some more s#!t.

All if this appeared to come out of nowhere, but today we have a lil’ more clarity according to a TMZ report.

Chyna allegedly went postal after she heard Tyga’s friends telling people that she wanted to work things out and get back with him despite her failing relationship with Rob. Chyna contends that she doesn’t communicate with her Cairo’s father and the only reason she speaks to him is because he had not paid their nanny, the “Jenny” she mentioned.

Moreover, Tyga believed that the reason Chyna hit him up was to talk about getting back together…which he went back and told his new friend Rob Kardashian!

It appears that Tyga and Rob have been doing a lot of chatty Patty about Chyna and Rob has been telling Chyna everything the eskimo baby daddies discuss.

Gossip: Barbara Walters Is Missing Friends Claim

Close friends of Barbara Walters want to know what has happened to their friend whom they haven’t seen in months.

“No one has seen her for a while. It is like she has gone into hiding,” sources tell Straight Shuter. “After living such a public life for as long as she has, she has suddenly disappeared. She was always walking red carpets at premieres and spotted rushing in and out of the city’s best restaurants. She loved seeing her picture in the paper and in magazines. But now she just wants to stay home, hidden from friends, fans and the cameras.”

Walters’s publicist tells Straight Shuter that she sees Barbara about every two weeks and that they talk all the time on the phone. But her old colleagues from “The View” add that the woman who used to send notes to them at least once a week has gone radio silent.

19 Hilariously Awkward Things New Baristas Have Done On The Job

Lots of things can go wrong when working in a coffee shop. There’s scalding coffee, blenders, hot water, and lousy customers to look out for. Throw in a new employee and things can really spiral out of control.

Instagram account @barista_life posted a question for its followers(h/t Foodbeast), asking them to share funny stories about new employees.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BSFxsIpAtdU/

Ironically, most of the comments hinted at the fact that a lot of new hires didn’t know you had to grind the beans before you brewed them. Or that espresso shots didn’t belong in chai and green tea lattes. Perhaps it’s time to reconsider a job in coffee, guys.

Colorado Restaurants Have Trouble Recruiting Help Because of Legal Marijuana

Ever since the legal cannabis market opened up tens of thousands of new jobs in Colorado, restaurateurs all across the state have found it increasingly more difficult to recruit staff. It seems that more people would now prefer to earn a living working in weed rather than in a kitchen, a shakeup that has put the state’s restaurant labor market at “Defcon 5,” reports Bloomberg.

In Denver, which was selected last year by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best places to live in the nation, the restaurant scene has been exploding over the last two years with new fine dining experiences, especially in the downtown area. This growth, of course, has created an elevated demand for culinary professionals and kitchen support staff.

But, right around the same time the city was going through this culinary transformation, the retail cannabis market was launched, creating a wave of high paying job opportunities in grow facilities and retail dispensaries throughout the state. This unique situation has caused many young workers to shuck their aprons for the business of bud.

“Our work force is being drained by the pot industry,” said Bryan Dayton, co-owner of three popular restaurants in Denver and Boulder. “There’s a very small work pool as it is. Enter the weed business, which pays $22 an hour with full benefits. You can come work in a kitchen for us for eight hours a day, in a hot kitchen. It’s a stressful life. Or you can go sort weed in a climate-controlled greenhouse. It’s a pretty obvious choice.”

Other restaurant owners agreed, adding that the cannabis industry is even taking possession of some of its key professionals.

“Cooks take trimming jobs and make $20 an hour, but it’s not just that. Pastry chefs are in high demand in the pot world,” said Jennifer Jasinski, owner of Stoic and Genuine and Rioja. “Laced candies and gummy bears are sought-after treats when they are made well, so pastry chefs and cooks can make them for three to four times the money a restaurant can pay. All this just exacerbates an already tight work force in Denver.”

Although the solution may seem as easy as offering restaurant workers higher wages, owners say it is “impossible” for them to compete with legal weed due to their extremely small profit margins.

“If you make 10 percent profit in the restaurant business, you are in the hall of fame as a great operator,” Stuckey said.

Some restaurant owners say they have also experienced between a 2-4 percent decrease in overall alcohol sales since the legalization of marijuana, according to Bloomberg.

Still, while complaining about hardships in the realm of human resources, some say they have seen “more hungry,” “more sophisticated” customers as a result of marijuana legalization.

Now, if they could only hire enough people to help feed them.

Richard Branson: You’ll Make More Money If You Swap Cows With Marijuana

Sir Richard Branson, the brash billionaire with friends in high places and a propensity to say what is on his mind, has some advice for New Zealand farmers: Forget about cows and think about cannabis.

The progressive British business magnate, philanthropist and pro-legalization advocate, was in New Zealand speaking at charity event. He made his comments while being interviewed by Newshub.

On legalizing cannabis as a crop, Branson told Newshub:

“You should legalise it, grow it, tax it, regulate it. I think that would be wonderful because obviously the amount of dairy cows that New Zealand has is damaging the rivers, if you could put some of that land over into growing cannabis would be just as profitable for them, if not more profitable.”

For years, Branson has supported progressive marijuana reform and has fought against the costly war on drugs.

“We’ve done a lot of studies on the war on drugs and it’s been an abject failure, and what is absolutely clear to us is that drugs should be decriminalized and people who have drug problems should be helped,” Branson said in the Newshub interview.

Newshub reached the Federated Farmers, the island nation’s leading independent rural advocacy organization, to get its reaction to Branson’s business idea. The group’s president, William Rolleston, wasn’t completely opposed.

“Farmers welcome any opportunity to add another string to their bow, and would look at that option only if it was legal and profitable to do so. … But that is a long way down the track,” he told Newshub.

Gossip: Khloe Kardashian Had No Idea Lamar Odom Was Going To Tell All: Big Britney Spears Tour News

Khloe Kardashian put on a brave face on Wednesday after her ex Lamar Odom spilled details of their failed marriage to a magazine – but she wishes he had given her the heads-up.

“Khloe found out about the tell-all when everyone else did. When the magazine hit newsstands was when she read it, like everyone,” sources tell Naughty Gossip. “Lamar didn’t tell her that he did a big interview and she was surprised. She has read the story and is shocked about some of the things he said. For the moment, she is choosing not to respond. She is taking the high road. But she would like to know how much money the magazine paid him.”

The former NBA player revealed she knew about his cheating and drug use.

There’s Important News About A Britney Spears World Tour

The “Hit Me Baby One More Time” singer is set to leave her residency in Las Vegas, embarking on overseas dates.

Rumors have been swirling for some time about a world tour, and now Britney has revealed two official dates on her Twitter.

The former teen star will be jetting off to the Philippines in June and Israel in July for special performances.

It’s also believed there’s a world tour about to be announced too. The Daily Star reports that she will be doing a string of dates, taking in South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

An insider told Daily Star Online: “Britney has wanted to tour for ages, her time in Vegas has given her so much more confidence and she can’t wait.

“The current plan is for the Piece of Me show to be duplicated around the world instead of a whole new set being created from scratch but discussions are in the early stages.”

The newspaper reports that Britney will play shows in Japan, Argentina, Brazil, France and England, which are soon to be announced.

Britney is expected to reprise that show, which she’s been performing since 2013, after finishing her international dates.

Kids Outing Boozy Parents On Reddit Will Be The Best Thing You Read All Day

What started out as a photo a mom posted on Reddit of the lunch her four-year old packed for her (applesauce, oatmeal, snack bar, mac & cheese…can of Miller Lite), quickly turned into story time, with parents sharing all the accidental shade their kiddos threw at them and their mild drinking addictions. Score one for boozy parents.

When we’re kids, we judge adults. When we’re adults, we judge kids. And when we’re kids acting like adults, we judge the fact that our parents might love their booze slightly more than their family. It’s how Tila Tequila happened (probably). You can’t even walk into a BevMo without the little buggers asking loudly if the superstore was now the family’s second home. Where do they learn this stuff? These Reddit comments are a small snapshot of the men and women who personally know the wrath of a child who clearly needs to be cut off.

Is The First In-Theater Playground Hell On Earth Or Heaven For Parents?

0

Welcome to the ninth circle of hell: A movie theater that doubles as a playground for parents who want to bring their popcorn-covered offspring to date night.

Opened in two Southern California locations this month, the Cinepolis Junior movie theaters screened the new Beauty and the Beast remake. Designed for kids ages three to 12 — by someone who apparently has never taken a child to a public place, let alone to a space meant for quiet focus — the new theaters charge $3 extra for the added benefit of a jungle gym alongside the rows.

The play structures will be 55 feet long and 25 feet high, and include slides and bean bag chains. Families will be let into the theater early to play, and allowed to stay 15 minutes after the movie for more playtime. The company is considering leaving the house lights on during the film so no one breaks anything playing on a jungle gym in the dark, according to the Kansas City Star.

“It’s really intended to make kids feel welcome and comfortable,” Cinepolis USA Chief Executive Adrian Mijares Elizondo told the LA Times. “The whole idea is to make it easier for parents to take their kids to the movies and let the kids have more fun.”

“Some may argue that it’s disrespectful to the movie, but in this scenario it may be the best way for the kids to experience the film,” box-office analyst Paul Dergarabedian of ComScore added. “You might actually get more parents to come and bring their kids. Even in the greatest movies, kids get restless and bored.”

Cinepolis, the world’s fourth-largest cinema operator, was also among the first theater chains to add alcohol to the movie-going experience. If the kid-friendly experiment takes off, the company plans to add three or four new playground theaters per year for the next four or five years. Hopefully, all of them also come with a full bar.

The Creator Of ‘The Wire:’ The War On Drugs Is A Massive Failure

It’s no secret that David Simon, the creator, executive producer and writer  for HBO’s groundbreaking series “The Wire,” believes the War on Drugs has been a massive failure.

For Simon, a former crime reporter for the Baltimore Sun, marijuana regulation is, above all, a social justice issue. In 2014, he wrote:

Certainly, marijuana enforcement is an opportunity for law enforcement to profile, harass and penalize minorities.  And certainly, a marijuana arrest can be used to establish a criminal history, achieve probationary verdicts and put people of color under the control of the criminal justice system.  To the extent that defendants opt for suspended sentences and then are rearrested, or find themselves arrested in that minority of states with retrograde marijuana codes, incarcerative outcomes do occur.

Later this month, Simon will be awarded The Denver Press Club’s Damon Runyon Award, named after the celebrated Prohibition-era journalist. In an interview with the Denver Post, Simon discussed journalism, politics and a host of other issues.

In the Post interview, Simon had this to say about marijuana legalization:

Q: You’ve railed against what you see as the futility of the drug war, but it seems a lot of “regular people” are just now waking up to the ravages of heroin, for example, because they can’t ignore it. Since Colorado was the first state to legalize recreational marijuana, how do you see that trend advancing nationally?

A: You tell me. Is (Colorado’s) Oxycontin use up over other states, or is there any appreciable difference since marijuana was legalized? That’s the primary argument against the liberalization of marijuana: that it’s a gateway drug to other things. Even though, yes, all the rummies drinking rye down by the Cross Street Market, 94 percent of them started with a beer. So is beer a gateway drug? On some level, 94 percent of all murderers who picked up a gun probably had a traffic ticket. Do traffic violations pose the inevitable route to violent crime? There’s a specious equivocation we were sold for 50 to 60 years of the drug war. People who have compulsive disorders are going to struggle with addiction regardless of where they begin, whether it’s caffeine or a beer or a barbiturate. They’re going where they’re going unless it’s interrupted in some definitive way externally. The (anti-marijuana forces) are ignoring the fact that millions upon millions upon millions have used it recreationally and haven’t become drug addicted in the same way that millions have used alcohol and not become drug addicts. So I’m really dubious on the gateway drug part of it.

Q: And certainly, you’ve said in the past that the drug war is as much about social and cultural control as it is about public health or safety.

A: The reason we have the drug war is to police our feared other, and not necessarily to police dangerous drugs or drugs that do the most harm, or we wouldn’t be chasing marijuana, we’d be chasing Anheuser-Busch and R.J. Reynolds. On the other hand, I have a counter-intuitive argument against what Colorado did, which has nothing to do with my concerns about marijuana. And I’m sort of alone in this, but I see this as being political inevitably: If we could get marijuana separate from the drug war, this country would allow the police and prison system to beat the (crap) out of brown people and poor white people disproportionately. Once middle-class white kids can get their high legally, it’s like the military getting rid of the draft. We weren’t taking kids of opportunity, so wars of choice became much more viable with a volunteer army. The military’s never going back to a draft because it’s given them much more credibility to fight even interminable wars of attrition as long as everybody’s there of their own volition. White, middle-class kids stopped protesting wars on campus once they weren’t vulnerable to fighting them. The opposition to the drug war should be comprehensive and should have a real, sustained sense of how laws are used disproportionately on black kids. If you’re really serious about addressing this nightmare, the totality of it, it’s probably a bad idea to be looking at marijuana separately, but not meth or heroin.
