The chart-topping trio shared how hard their journey from child musicians to Teen Choice Decade Award recipients was during Sunday’s broadcast.
The eldest of the musical trio, Kevin, said he was bullied in middle school because he sported frosted tips.
“I started to hate to go to school, I started to hate my hair, I started to hate myself,” he recalled of the torment, revealing the crude nickname classmates called him. “And, at the same time, I went on my very first acting audition… and then they hired me because they liked my frosted tips.”
“The same haircut … was what started my actual career,” the 31-year-old added, “and it’s also the reason I’m standing on this stage receiving this award today.”
Nick, 26, said he was also targeted in school, though his adversaries were teachers, not students. Early Broadway success earned him “a bit harsher treatment than everyone else,” he said.
“And I still remember one birthday in particular,” Nick continued, “I was quite young, I was very excited, as well all get on our birthdays (and) my teachers yelled at me saying, ‘Stop drawing attention to yourself.’ I had enough self-doubt as it was, I didn’t need to be told how little I really was. But if I had stopped what I was doing … I wouldn’t be here today receiving this award.”
Nick told the Fox broadcast’s young viewers that “those things that you feel like you’re singled out about, you’re bullied about that define you in your teen years can become the thing that make you special: it’s your gift, it’s your power.”
Kylie Jenner was flooded with happy birthday messages as she turned 22 on Saturday — but one in particular caught the Internet’s attention.
While celebrating her youngest daughter’s big day, Caitlyn Jenner accidentally posted a picture of herself from back in the day with Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner, 23, instead.
“Life was so simple back then, but life is so good today,” Caitlyn, 69, captioned the post. “Happy birthday to my little baby @kyliejenner.”
Seemingly realizing the mistake, Caitlyn then deleted the post (captured by Here for the Tea on Instagram) and replaced it with two photos of her with Kendall and Kylie as young girls.

“Happy birthday @kyliejenner,” she wrote.
Fans were quick to point out the switch, playfully teasing Caitlyn for the mix-up.
“Changed that picture real quick,” one commented.
“Ahhh pics with them both,” commented another. “Better not to risk it!”
“Glad you got the right daughter this time, sis,” added another.
It was way more appealing to me than anything blow torch operated, and seemed no different than a bong or hookah if we’re being real.
The Fresh Toast – Being curious, I had to go – here is my first time at a weed dab bar experience.
When you’ve never done a dab, you just don’t grasp its power and allure. This method of consumption involves heating up wax, butter, shatter, and certain types of hash to a specific temperature, and clearing the vapor as deeply as you can for maximum effect. It’s growing in popularity mainly due to it’s anecdotally fast relief time from pain and other medical concerns. It also has a clean, smokeless taste that’s similar to the smell of fresh flower when the quality is supreme.
Concentrates taste great in pens on-the-go, but being super honest leads one to admit that the optics of sucking them down in the typical bong-like “rig” method with a blow torch doesn’t do many favors for cannabis normalization. It’s intimidating for a reason — to the cannabis layperson, it looks eerily similar to street drugs.
Between this less-than-societally acceptable imagery and the costs and safety associated with at-home dabbing, it’s just not on the same level of popularity and acceptance as it is in many recreationally legal cannabis states, like California. Using concentrates isn’t just normal in Cali, it’s a natural progression of what must be a pretty high THC tolerance for many medical patients at this point.

For this and many other very chill reasons, San Francisco is among the first cities to allow consumption lounges, many of which allow safe, precision dabs in a clean and private space. It was this curiosity that led me to Barbary Coast Dispensary in the Civic Center/SoMa neighborhood, where trying a dab in a social setting— and after having access to the best products— is a real thing.
Buyer Kit Hall set me up with some of the highest quality 710 Labs Do-si-dos ice water hash to sample in their functionally chic glassware, equipped with an electronically controlled skillet to melt all types of concentrates at the perfect temp. It was way more appealing to me than anything blow torch operated, and seemed no different than a bong or hookah if we’re being real. After cleaning off the mouthpiece with alcohol, I was ready to try a hit. This being only my second dab ever, we kept the total to under an estimated 10mg of THC, but some doses go up to 100mg.

I can’t speak to the recreational effects of such a dab, as it was strong, but I needed it for a medical purpose, and it performed nearly instantly on some severe menstrual pain. The taste was exceptional, like a distilled version of cannabis. I’ve tried oils in pens and joints before, but when you taste an electronic dab with such a clean oil as 710‘s, it was like pure terpene and cannabis flavor, not unlike the highest quality buds on your first spark.
All of this is found right in the shop, which was expanded to include the dab bar as California warmed up to full legalization over its first eight months. Barbary Coast also has an adjacent smoking lounge with full combustion options, so you don’t have to stick to vapes and dabs like many other lounges. If you’re curious about dabbing or looking for a safe place to try it, a reputable dispensary is probably a lot safer than torching in someone’s garage.
From THC levels to smokeability to looking like the prize winner you want to be toking, properly dried weed can make or break a bag.
One of the most important steps to a great bag of weed is the curing process. First, the buds are hung to dry, then they’re trimmed and the buds are put into airtight jars that are opened and closed according to the grower’s cure schedule. It’s an imperative set of actions towards a final product to be proud of.
From THC levels to smokeability and looking like the blue ribbon winner you want to be toking, properly dried weed can make or break a bag. Luckily, if you got some too fresh bud that’s still packed with moisture you can finish out the drying process yourself. Just be aware that you likely didn’t get what you paid for to begin with, as wet weed is heavier.
Before going and drying out your cannabis, be sure you’re not mistaking extremely sticky buds for yet too much wet. Sticky icky was likely cured perfectly, it’s just going to, naturally, stick to your fingers and feel suspiciously damp. But as long as it doesn’t squish when lightly squeezed, leave the sticky alone.
Photo by Panos Sakalakis via Unsplash
If it’s just a little too moist, putting the buds in a paper bag and then closing it for a few hours could do the trick. If they’re a little more damp than that, rotate having the paper bag opened and closed every 8 hours or so until it crisps up to your standards.
Now if the weed truly was just harvested, the colors will be very vibrant and the plant will feel extremely humid from the inside out. If you’ve broken up a bud that’s wet through and through, it’s time to get your own cure on. Place the ripe nuggets into glass jars as stated above and also routinely open and close the jars.
Depending on just how wet the weed was, this could be a process that takes more than a day and more like a week or so. The smaller popcorn buds will dry faster and can thus be plucked for smoking before the real meaty ones are properly dried and cured.
Truly, genetics and taking care during the grow play major roles in quality cannabis, but if you don’t have a proper cure, it’s not going to be showtime for your buds. A perfect cure means easily ground, evenly smoked, delicious cannabis packed with terpenes and that shows off all the hard work that the breeders and growers put into it.
The DEA spent $18 million last year eradicating illegal marijuana grows, though it allegedly doesn’t know where most of the money went.
Following the tragic shootings in Texas and Ohio last week, the nation asked what more could be done to fight domestic terrorism. Donald Trump was on board to help, promising federal officers “whatever they need” to effectively counteract homegrown terrorists. But as VICE News reports, Trump should first look at the money his administration spends destroying marijuana plants.
Because while domestic terrorists have killed more Americans than foreign ones over the past two decades, Trump has cut funding for programs designed to fight homegrown extremists. That includes the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Community Partnerships, which focuses on supporting local communities to counter extremism. Under the Trump administration, the OCP has lost $18 million in funding, which is the same figure spent on searching for and eliminating cannabis plants.
“This administration has shown that they are minimizing the issue of domestic terrorism,” said Daryl Johnson, a former DHS analyst, told VICE News. “At a time when we have heightened activity and the body count keeps rising, training is being defunded and grant money taken back.”
Previously, under the Obama administration, the OCP enjoyed a $21 million total budget that afforded them a full-time staff of 16 employees and 25 contractors. Trump cut that budget to below $3 million a year and only 8 full-time employees, while also re-branding it “The Office of Terrorism Prevention Partnerships.” The majority of the grants previously given to the OCP is now dedicated to programs that “explicitly target minority groups, including Muslims, LGBTQ Americans, Black Lives Matter Activists, immigrants, and refugees,” according to a Brennan Center for Justice study at New York University School of Law.

In May, former head of the OCP, George Selim, told Congress, “The government in fact has reduced resources to counter domestic terrorism, leaving our communities vulnerable to the next inevitable tragedy,” reported VICE News.
However, a 1970s-era program designed to uncover and eradicate illegal marijuana grows is still going strong. The Drug Enforcement Agency program, called the “Domestic Cannabis Eradication and Suppression Program,” costs around $18 million. Most of that funding is spent in California, where marijuana is legal, though the state maintains a highly lucrative black market. While helicopter rentals account for the highest cost, the DEA allegedly doesn’t even know where most of that allocated budget goes, according to the Government Accountability Office.
Some other exorbitant expenses from the Trump administration includes $21 million spent on furniture by the DOJ last September. In the same month, the DHS blew $51 million on public relations. And the DOJ and Department of Defense spent around $14 million for Trump’s four visits to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida between February and March 2017.
Maybe the first step, however, is recognizing that fighting domestic terrorism requires more funds than maintaining marijuana prohibition in states where the plant is legal.
CBD is still unregulated, which is good for companies looking to cash in on its popularity. But what actually works?
Cannabidiol’s rise to prominence has been unprecedented. One day no one knew what it was and the next we all had at least one wellness product containing CBD in our bathrooms. While these fads and trends tend to be little more than smoke and mirrors, research and anecdotal evidence say that CBD is legitimate, helping people cope with a variety of symptoms.
While there are some really great CBD products, there are hundreds that are just using the compound for marketing purposes. Lack of regulations complicate things further, giving companies plenty of openings that allow them to take advantage of your lack of knowledge. Don’t fall in their trap; learn about CBD and get to know the brands that are making the products you want.
The Cut compiled a list of certified CBD products that have provided positive results. We’ve compiled our favorites below and split them according to your needs:
Baggy eyes just happen, sometimes when you feel rested and have slept eight hours. Cannuka CBD Calming Eye Balm was designed for relieving these symptoms. Containing honey, the balm is silky and smooth, providing a cool and alleviating feel on your skin, de-puffing the bags under your eyes and hydrating you.
For your hair
Although less popular than the work it does with skin, CBD is also a good supplement for your hair and scalp. Due to it’s anti-inflammatory properties CBD infused hair products can relieve irritation on your scalp and soften your hair. June Grooming Oil is great for all kinds of hair, including facial or the one on your head. This product is used before or after showering and contains bergamot, neroli, sandalwood and clary sage.
For your skin

There are hundreds of lotions and creams containing CBD. The compound works really well when applied to skin, reducing inflammation and nursing it back to health. If you’re interested in a CBD face mask check out Lab to Beauty The Green Cure Mask. If you want a serum a deeper hydration, check out Ildi Pekar Tissue Repair Serum Infused with CBD Oil.
For a bath
There are plenty of relaxing bath salts containing CBD since the compound works really well when absorbed through the skin. Prima’s Soak It In Bath Gem contains all sorts of relaxing botanicals, such as rosemary, eucalyptus and lavender, leaving your skin silky and hydrated after each use.
If you suffer from headaches or muscle pains, CBD products like Dr. Kerklaan’s Natural Pain Cream works by rubbing in some cream on each temple or over your neck, lower back and joints. Unlike many of the creams used for relieving pain, this product is non-greasy and smells like lavender, making it a good option to have on the go.
Marijuana users still outrank homicidal maniacs on the government’s implied “sketchy people who should not own guns” list.
While no laws exist to restrict alcohol users from buying guns in America, a double standard is in place with regard to cannabis users. Medical marijuana patients face a difficult choice: Be a card-carrying medical marijuana patient, or a card-carrying gun owner, but not both.
New patients may be shocked to learn that federal law restricts their ability to purchase a gun if they use marijuana — even for medical reasons
The memo states, “Federal law makes it unlawful for any person to sell, or otherwise dispose of, any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing, or having reasonable cause to believe, that such a person is an unlawful user of, or addicted to a controlled substance.”
“Having reasonable cause to believe,” puts doing business with the general public at the discretion of gun shop employees. It is up for them to decide whether or not they think someone is a marijuana user, even if he or she declares that they are not on the necessary paperwork. Currently, there are no such guidelines granting gun shop owners discretion not to sell to anyone suspected of having a violent mental health issue. Gun owners have discretion not to sell to anyone they choose, but they could be sued.
Pot users still outrank homicidal maniacs on the government’s implied “sketchy people who should not own guns” list. Why are gun shopkeepers supposed to size up their buyers and “pot profile,” them?

Additionally, the memo states, “Therefore any person who uses, or is addicted to, marijuana, regardless of whether his or her state has passed legalization authorizing marijuana use for medical purposes, is an unlawful user of, or addicted to, a controlled substance, and is prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition. You may not transfer firearms or ammunition to them. Further, if you are aware that the potential transferee is in possession of a card authorizing the possession and use of marijuana under state law, and you have reasonable cause to believe that the person is an unlawful user of a controlled substance, as such you may not transfer firearms or ammunition to that person, even if the person answered no on the ATF Form 4473.”
In other words, according to the ATF, anyone who uses marijuana for medical purposes is an addict and can’t own a gun.
Federally, marijuana is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance having no medicinal value, even though 30 U.S. states and the District of Columbia have medical marijuana programs.
The Controlled Substance Act prohibits anyone who is an “unlawful user of, or addicted to, any controlled substance from shipping, transporting, receiving, or possessing firearms or ammunition.”
According to an interpretation of the CSA’s edict, any medical marijuana patient who works in retail, such as in a sporting goods store, may not ship or receive inventory, handle mail orders, or stock shelves.
Violation of Privacy
Attorney David Holland, Esq., Director of Empire State chapter of NORML (National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws), said, “Since when are gun shop owners qualified to identify, or second-guess, the propriety of a diagnosis of eligibility as a medical marijuana patient? Personal health information is a protected status. Asking customers to disclose their patient status is a violation ofHIPAA laws that protect a patient’s privacy.
Additionally, what criteria make medical marijuana users unfit? How does one spot a marijuana user over any other kind of user? A gun shop owner should not interrogate people who have a valid medical condition. They should not be subject to arbitrary and capricious decisions by a gun shop owner, e.g., that they are not fit to exercise a constitutional right to possess a weapon.
Furthermore, the ATF is giving all the power of gun regulation to the gun shop owners, rather than the legislature, the doctors, or anyone else. Who are they to override the legislature? How ironic for second amendment hawks to say that the people who sell guns are the ones who get to decide who gets to buy one. If their goal is to sell guns, why should they care if someone is a valid medical patient?” Holland said.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has not endorsed the cannabis industry. However, former NRA president David Keene wrote in an op-ed in the Washington Times, “refusal of the federal government to accede to the judgment of the states on the issue has created problems for tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of gun owners. They are being forced to either trade their Second Amendment rights for a chance to live pain-free, or risk prosecution and imprisonment.”
Prescription opioid and opiate users have a fairer shot than marijuana users do at obtaining a firearm, because some opioid and opiate use is legal.
Paul Armentano, Deputy Director of NORML, commented, “There is no credible justification for a ‘marijuana exception’ to the US Constitution. Responsible adults who use cannabis in a manner that is compliant with the laws of their states ought to receive the same legal rights and protections as do other citizens. It is incumbent upon members of Congress to act swiftly to amend cannabis’ criminal status in a way that comports with both public and scientific opinion, as well as its rapidly changing legal status under state laws.”
Nintendo should come out already and admit Galarian Weezing is a stoner Pokémon icon.
Pokémon is ostensibly a children’s game. But a new trailer for Nintendo’s upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield gives us some real adult fumes, we must admit. The trailer features several Pokémon new to the Galar region, including a Weezing that looks like a straight-up bong.
Those who played the original Pokémon back in the day will remember Weezing. However, the new iteration of the game features old-school creatures like Weezing, but who have adapted/evolved to their new climates in the Galar region. You can see where we’re going here — Galar region got some primo weed.
To be fair, both Koffing and Weezing have long been associated with stoner culture. They’re literally named after coughing and wheezing, two acts anyone who’s hit the weed a little too hard will recognize. But it feels like Game Freak—the video game studio behind the new Pokémon—is making the connection more explicit than ever before.
Check out this description on the game’s official website. Tell us this doesn’t sound like the effects of smoking marijuana.
“The toxins accumulated within Weezing’s body form into concentrated poison gas clouds that leak out and drift around it. This gas is so potent that even a whiff is enough to stun and immobilize an opponent,” reads the website. “It is Weezing’s best weapon during battles.”
Whether it was intentional or not, the internet has adopted Galarian Weezing as a stoner icon. Nintendo might as well embrace it. Just add “Cookies and pizza attacks are super effective against Galarian Weezing” already.
Sex ruts are common although rarely discussed in most long-term relationships. While they can have a negative effect in other areas of your life, they can also be managed by trying out new activities.
It’s natural to want to improve your sex life, especially if you’ve been involved in a long term relationship and have been feeling a little stuck. Though rarely addressed, these feelings of boredom and restlessness are common and potentially harmful, affecting your self esteem and making you feel like perhaps you’ve outgrown your relationship.
Distance in sex is reflected in many areas of your relationship, like when you’re not paying attention to what your partner is saying or neither of you is creating the space for activities that help break up monotony. The good thing is that as sex trickles down into most aspects of you relationship, the reverse is also true. If you work on being more spontaneous, open and communicative, your hard work will pay off.
Here are five things you can do in order to make your sex life more exciting:
Work on your body image
Body image fluctuates, with some days our bodies feeling better and healthier than others. According to sex therapist Joy Davidson, body image has a big impact on women’s in particular, with those who accept themselves having an easier time enjoying sex. “Typically, when a woman looks at herself, her eyes go straight to her problem areas. She carries that feeling into the bedroom, and when her partner’s kissing her thighs, she’s busy thinking, ‘God, I’m so fat!'” she explains to Psychology Today.
To improve your own body image, try to absorb the fact that there isn’t an ideal body type and ask your partner about the things about your body that they love and appreciate. Keep these in mind when you look at the mirror, and make it a priority to pay attention to the parts of your body that you like.
Take a break from sex
Since sex is embedded into our routines sometimes what you need is a soft reboot, taking a short break from the habit so that you miss it a little, and can return with full batteries. This method, although extreme, is very effective according to experts. In the simplest of ways, by telling yourself that you won’t be having sex for a short period of time, you’ll want to do it even more. Just make sure to discuss it with your partner and to not cut them off with no explanation.
Sex ruts tend to be reflected in other aspects of your life, making you feel stuck in work, friendships and everything you do. By working on going out more, having more date nights, and making the time to cook something special, you’ll start to feel better, like there’s a purpose to things. You can also try to experiment with your sex life, having a conversation with your partner and agreeing on new activities that are interesting and different for you both.
Go to the gym
Psychology Today explains that one of the best sex boosters is a healthy workout regimen, because time sweating can make you feel better about your body, while stimulating your brain and nervous system. When done consistently, exercise improves your blood flow and gives you some minutes to relax and think about nothing except your workout.

Try a new hobby
Activities that excite you and make you passionate about something new are always great for your sex life, breaking your routine and making you feel excited. When trying out new activities with your partner, you’ll see them in a different setting that won’t remind you of the person you’ve grown used to, maybe even giving you the chance to learn a new and interesting thing about them.
Social media influencer Olivia Jade gives the bird to all the media writing about the USC scandal; and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their friends uncomfortable with their PDA.
Olivia Jade Giannulli, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli’s younger daughter who is engulfed in the college admissions scandal, is slamming tabloids for spreading rumors about her enrollment.
In a rare post since the scandal broke, the 19-year-old social media influencer shared a NSFW photo of herself holding up two middle fingers with a caption to clear up exactly who those hand gestures are meant for.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B1CHX5_gN5b
“@dailymail @starmagazine @people @perezhilton @everyothermediaoutlet #close #source #says,” she wrote.
In the past few days, several stories have surfaced with “insider knowledge” claiming she’s not planning on returning for her sophomore year at the University of Southern California later this month and instead wants to focus on building her own brand. USA TODAY has reached out to USC for comment.
At this point, it feels like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have commanded headlines for just about every silly reason under the sun. Yet, there was at least one complaint about the royal couple we hadn’t heard… until now. The newest criticism? Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are breaking dinner party etiquette with their PDA, and it’s reportedly becoming a problem for the people in their inner circle. In fact, the royal pair’s pals are apparently worried Meghan and Harry’s touchy-feely behavior could put guests “off their food.”
According to Mail on Sunday, the root of the problem appears to be that Meghan and Harry ignore longstanding etiquette that would seat them across from other. Rather, the loving couple “insists” on sitting next to each other. Not surprisingly, poor Meghan seems to be shouldering the blame for this — the Mail reports that people in their social circle assume the Duchess thinks the separate seating rule to be “exclusive” and “traditional.” This perspective is allegedly “frowned upon” by Harry’s society circle, who “roll their eyes” at Meghan’s “American ways.”
The rapper, an outspoken cannabis consumer, believes that cannabis should be legal everywhere, and is calling for further studies on the medical potential of the plant.
Redman, an American rapper made famous by the Def Jam label in the early 90s, and known around the world for his collaborations with Method Man, 2Pac, and Eminem, among others, has been a long time advocate of marijuana. He first made the cover of iconic cannabis magazine High Times in 1993, and has since collaborated with them in numerous occasions.
An outspoken cannabis consumer, Redman has made a lifestyle out of weed. Over the years, he’s released numerous songs about the herb, worked on pot-themed movie scores – including “How High”, launched a 420-themed clothing line, and even invested in a cannabis-related app.
As part of his activism for the cannabis community, Redman recently participated in Cannaramic, an online summit that features more than 20 cannabis experts including Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, NORML’s David C. Holland, former NHL players Ryan VandenBussche and Riley Cote, U.S. Army veteran José Belén, UFC champion Frank “The Legend” Shamrock, investor Jeff Siegel, and chef Dee Russell.

Redman’s class, which coincidentally aired right after mine on May 22, was titled “The Fight For Cannabis Legalization — Coast to Coast.” Here are some highlights from a very interesting conversation the rapper had with Cyrus Langhorne of Cannaramic.
In an ideal world, cannabis would be legal everywhere, Redman said, calling for further studies on the medical potential of the plant. “If I could snap my fingers [and suddenly live in an ideal world], that part of the government [controlling dangerous and over-the-counter drugs] would be losing money and the real people that had something to do with cannabis, that believe in it, and have the same dream as me — about just helping people. If I could just snap my fingers, then we would be running the government on the medical side.”
Cannabis In The East Coast
Redman first got into cannabis legalization in the U.S. and the hurdles it faces in the East Coast. “It’s like the beginning on the East Coast for cannabis,” he said, noting many states are still skeptical or straight out “ignoring that it [cannabis] will help not just the economy but the people as well.”
But the rapper understands the process to legalize cannabis is complex. States like New York or New Jersey are “just trying to figure out the right way to monitor this plant. Like I said, I think we’re in the beginning stages of it. Hopefully it’ll get more lenient.”
In his opinion, people are still focusing on the cons of legalization too heavily. “If they put the pros onto the table, they would get a better understanding on how it would help the community; how it could help schooling; and how it could help getting computers for schools that don’t have computers; and helping homeless people…”
But, for that to happen, people need to take a step back and look at the economy as a whole, and understand that the pros of cannabis legalization outweigh the cons heftily, he said, bringing up the example of the West Coast, where people seem to support marijuana, and understand the plant and different strains, a lot more than they do in the East Coast.
“We need to have a better understanding on how this plant can help your economy, your state, your people… But, unfortunately, that means there will be money lost on another field [like pharma], and you know how that goes. Choices need to be made.”
The Gateway Myth
Moving on, Langhorne brought up fears around cannabis being a gateway drug, meaning its use often leads to “harder” drugs like cocaine, LSD, heroin, etc. Recent studies and statistics have shown this is not the case, though.
“I never got that… For a person who starts off with weed and ends up on heroin… he/she was bound to end up on heroin. Bottom line. That’s just the way it is,” Redman answered. For him, it’s all about quality: if you get good enough cannabis, weed that gets you high enough, “there’s no reason to go no higher than that.
“That’s just my opinion. I figure if you were bound to end up on coke or crack, or anything else, you were destined to be there. Weed ain’t have nothing else to do with it. At all.”
Parenting And Pot
As the conversation progressed, Langhorne got into parenting, cannabis and concerns related to youths getting easier access to marijuana as it gets legalized.
“Well, the youth can access a gun right now; the youth can access liquor; the youth can go access a bat and hurt someone. We all have these choices, but like I always say: it always starts from the home, and how you raise your kids, and how you tell them they should be, and how to live their lives.”
Redman says he does not hide his cannabis consumption from his kids, but rather educates them about it. This does not mean he smokes around them: second-hand smoke is still not good for children, he argues.
Now, if he had to chose between his kids buying liquor behind his back and his kids buying cannabis behind his back, he would rather have his kids “go buy an eighth than go buy some liquor… Marijuana doesn’t really bring a kind of… attitude where you want to hurt someone. I’ve never known weed to do that. Liquor? Yes. But it’s easy to buy.
“What can we do? As parents, all we can do is start from the home and teach our kids what this [cannabis] is… If you’re going to be a smoker like me, you definitely have to have your priorities straight and know where you’re going in life, because you can get burnt out smoking everyday with no plan. That can happen. You can get lazy. But then again, if you’re smoking sativas, you can get energetic. You can get creative. You can teach your kids from the door about this plant at the end of the day. You just have to bring awareness to it.”
