Former Congressman Believes U.S. Will Legalize Marijuana By 2022

Former Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher wants the American population to know that marijuana legalization at the national level is coming by the year 2022, and it is all going to happen courtesy of President Donald Trump.

The longtime federal lawmaker recently shared some of his thoughts on the issue with TMZ, suggesting that 2019 was a complete and total bust with respect to marijuana legalization, but that changes at the federal level were already being discussed behind closed doors.

“I don’t think anything is going to happen one way or the other this year anyway,” Rohrabacher told the gossip source. “Congress is in session for two years. The second year of that session is usually when major reforms are passing because people are getting ready for the election, they want to show what they’ve accomplished and what they stand for. And I think that’s what’s going to happen with cannabis.”

When asked whether some type of marijuana reform would be passed in the United States within the next few years, Rohrabacher said: “Congress will do it [legalize marijuana] in coordination with this president who will help shape the compromises necessary to push the bill through Congress.”

At face value, it would seem that the one time U.S. Representative might be onto something. After all, he was part of the scene that led to the passing of an amendment that currently protects law-abiding members of the medical marijuana community from being prosecuted at the federal level. Before losing his seat to Harley Rouda last year, the 15-term representative of Orange County was considered one of the most vocal supporters of cannabis reform in the nation’s capital. Many believed that his leadership helped to make cannabis reform more of a bipartisan issue.

But he is also a bit of a kook.

As a longtime member of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, Rohrabacher testified that global warming was a long con. Although scientists were able to provide the committee with evidence showing that humans are the culprits behind climate change, Rohrabacher insisted that “dinosaur farts”were more likely the cause. He also once asked NASA officials whether it was possible that Martians could one day inhabit our solar system and threaten our way of life here on Earth.

RELATED: Are There Any Downsides To Marijuana Legalization?

Beyond his comments on space and climate change is his obsession with conspiracy theories. He believed that the Oklahoma City bombings were done by Muslin terrorists and not some white bread local boys. This is mild in comparison to how Rohrabacher reacted to the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy. To prove that the LAPD was part of some elaborate cover-up, he dressed as a woman to secure an in-person interview with Kennedy’s killer. He also made several disparaging remarks over the years regarding the racist uprising attributed to the Trump administration. In fact, he called the neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia “a total hoax,” and he believed the entire scene was staged by liberals to make President Trump look bad. He even told some news sources that the violence was all orchestrated by Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

But then again, after spending nearly three decades on Capitol Hill, Rohrabacher, who recently became a board member for the California-based cannabis advertising site BudTrader, should have an understanding for how things might shake out with respect to the marijuana issue. At least one would think. But you’ll have to forgive us for being a little apprehensive about his predictions.

Beyonce ‘Will Never Trust’ Jay-Z After Cheating Scandal

Via Radar Online:

It’s been three years since the rapper’s wife Beyonce revealed to the world on her “Lemonade” album that Jay-Z cheated on her and RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal she still had major trust issues!

“Unfortunately, she will never be able to trust Jay-Z. She has him on a tight leash and always will,” a source close to Beyonce, 37, said.

On June 5, Beyonce and Jay Z, 49, were sitting court side at an NBA basketball game between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors when the owners wife, Nicole Lacob, started chatting it up with the rapper.

Needless to say, Beyonce was not having any of it — giving Lacob a death stare that instantly went viral on social media.

“Beyonce is incredibly controlling and she gets very upset when she sees him talking to another woman,” the source told Radar.

“Beyonce is not the type of woman to hide how she feels and the instance at the game was a perfect example of this.”

“Their marriage is constantly hot and cold and Jay-Z has morphed into what Beyonce wants him to be. He has lost his individuality and she definitely wears the pants in their marriage.”

7 Binge Worthy Shows You Should Watch

0

it seems options are endless…with some good and some not so good…and others just bad or boring.  Here are some binge streaming suggestions for you.

It seems there is a new era of quality entertainment.  Options are neck-deep in it with incredible content, be it cable, network television or streaming services. You can be absorbed watching hit series like “The Office” or Sons of Anarchy” again and again, or you can sit back and explore some streaming originals, imports, or deep cable gems. Here are 7 binge worthy shows you should watch.

‘Bad Blood’, Netflix

Traditionally, if a show is an international hit, American producers will buy the rights and adapt it for a US audience. Netflix bucks the trend, opting to buy international distribution rights and providing dubs/subtitles instead. Bad Blood, a Canadian mob drama based on the real-life story of the Montreal-based Rizzuto crime family, is such a series. Often called the “Canadian Sopranos,” this gritty crime series features TV drama vets such as Anthony LaPaglia, Kim Coates, Paul Sorvino, and Enrico Colantoni.

‘Marvel’s Runaways’, Hulu

RELATED: Rainy Weather Cocktails

While Netflix has abruptly cancelled all their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows, Runaways has been renewed for a third season by rival streamer Hulu. Based on a series by the same name, the show follows a group of teens bonded by their parents’ membership in a secret, human-sacrificing cabal that controls Los Angeles’ legitimate and illegitimate business world called Pride. They decide to unite against their evil parents, having their world unraveled as they uncover secrets about themselves and their parentage, all while going through the typical teenager stuff.

‘White Gold’, Netflix

Jointly produced by BBC2 and Netflix (the latter has global distribution rights outside of the UK) White Gold is a sitcom based in 80s Sussex and follows ambitious, avarice-filled, and narcissist window salesman Vincent Swan as he chases the thrill of the sale, with complete disregard for those around him. The comparisons to film Wolf of Wall Street are fair, but this is a solid performer, and like so many British sitcoms, only a handful of episodes exist (12 over 2 seasons), so it’s a breezy binge watch that provides enough laughs to keep watching.

‘Future Man’, Hulu

After a solid first two seasons, this self-aware sci-if dark comedy adventure show follows a slacker janitor who’s devoted his entire life outside of professional and personal obligations to finishing an unbeatable game. That game ends up being a simulator to find a warrior that will save the future (if the premise sounds familiar, save it, like I said, it’s pretty self aware). Hulu has renewed the show for a third and final season, and you can binge the first 2 seasons now on Hulu.

‘Bodyguard’, Netflix

This one is another “Netflix Original” that’s really produced for the BBC for which the streamer has distribution rights outside the UK. A smash hit in the United Kingdom, but maybe not noticed as much elsewhere, this political drama-thriller is centered on Police Sergeant David Budd, a PTSD-suffering veteran who is assigned to protect the Home Secretary, with whom he strongly disagrees with politically. Only 6 episodes total and as taut as a drumhead, the opening sequence digs its claws into your attention and doesn’t let go until you’ve finished the entire series.

‘Red Oaks’, Amazon Prime

RELATED: The Most Popular Marijuana Flavors

Amazon’s Red Oaks is another series that takes place in the 80s, and is very true to the era as it tells a coming-of-age story set at a New Jersey country club. The series is bolstered by a strong cast that includes Richard Kind, Paul Reiser and Gina Gershon.

‘You’re The Worst’, FXX/Hulu

What is FXX? Is that some kind of porno channel? If you were just as confused over name of Fox’s cable network as most everyone else, you can hardly be blamed. One gem from this mess of branding however is You’re The Worst, a comedic look at modern dating set in NYC. Critically acclaimed, it never really managed to burst all the way through their deep cable abyss like IFC’s Portlandia did, but thankfully the entire run is available to binge watch and appreciate on Hulu.

What Doctors Know About Marijuana For Prostate Cancer

Cannabis may have the ability to slow the growth of the cancer or allow us to use less hormonal therapy to control the disease.

What Doctors know about marijuana for prostate cancer from a physician.

Recently there has been interest in prostate cancer and treatment with cannabis. I have treated men with prostate cancer for over 35 years. I have personally been treated for prostate cancer. Therefore any article regarding this disease and any potential treatments are very interesting to me.

At this time we are able to treat local cancer of the prostate with an attempt to cure. Initially we treat cancer with radical surgery, external radiation therapy, radiation seeds, cryotherapy or laser therapy. Metastatic cancer cannot be cured, but usually can be controlled for years. This is usually initially treated with hormone deprivation therapy. When this is no longer effective and treatment is still indicated, we resort to chemotherapy.

RELATED: Finally, The Truth About Marijuana And Prostate Cancer

Nonsurgical cancer therapy requires a treatment specific to the cancer cells, a good delivery system and targeting of the agent to the cancer cells to ensure adequate absorption, a high enough dosage to treat the cancer cells while limiting side effects. Basically we need to create a smart bomb of drug to focus on cancer cells without significant collateral damage.

Many medical marijuana authors quote two laboratory studies that showed either inhibition of growth or early programmed cell death of prostate cancer cells with cannabis. One study used virally induced cells grown in the lab and the other used prostate cancer cells grafted to the skin of mice.

Putting these studies together we see that cannabis may have the ability to slow the growth of the cancer or allow us to use less hormonal therapy to control the disease, but neither study shows the ability to prevent or cure prostate cancer.

While these studies show some promise for prostate cancer treatment with cannabis, more significant work is necessary to show adequate treatment levels of drug in the living prostate gland and clear positive treatment criteria. In metastatic disease we would have to show improvement in the tests that show metastatic disease in humans.

Should anyone consider medical marijuana as a prevention or cure of prostate cancer at this time? We do not have sufficient data to support this idea. For me it is too great a leap of faith from laboratory experiments to consider treating myself or others with medical cannabis for prostate cancer at this time.

In time with more experimental cannabis research, people are hopeful that medical marijuana will find it’s way into the treatment of prostate cancer.

Now you know what doctors know about marijuana for prostate cancer.

Could Meghan Markle Ever Actually Become Queen

Like a plot line out of Hallmark or the movies An American becoming Queen is like a plot line out of Hallmark or the movies – but is it possible?

The idea of Meghan Markle inheriting the role of Queen of the British monarchy is what Hollywood movies are made of. But is it actually feasible that the Duchess of Sussex, Britain’s queen of fashion, could ever call the throne her own?

As fairytale-esque as the idea sounds, while she can never a Queen like Elizabeth II, he can, become a Queen Consort like Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

RELATED: Here’s Why Princess Charlotte’s Kids Probably Won’t Have Royal Titles

Succession to the British throne is regulated by descent, which is why Prince Charles, the Queen’s son, is next in line, followed by her grandson Prince William. But those who marry into the royal family don’t get a place in the line of succession, which is why Kate Middleton will never be the Queen of England, even when her husband Williams takes the throne. Instead, she will receive the title of Queen Consort. If earning the title of Queen was a competition, Queen Consort would be runner-up.

But for Harry, who has a longer wait to be King (he’s sixth in line to the throne, behind Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ), it’s unlikely he’ll ever see the throne, which means his wife will likely never become Queen Consort.

If you find yourself ever having to “settle” for the title of Duchess, your life is pretty great already.

This Week’s Music: Róisín Murphy, Bon Iver And Jonas Brothers

This Week’s Music is a weekly column that discusses the week’s best, worst, and most interesting songs. We try to select songs of different artists and genres to keep things interesting and to please a variety of music fans.

This week’s column features Róisín Murphy’s new single, Bon Iver’s return and the much awaited release of the Jonas Brothers’ new album. Check them out!

Electronic

Róisín Murphy – Incapable

“Incapable” is an eight minute art pop song released in 2019. That fact alone is enough to raise a few eyebrows and to make people interested in something different to want to give it a listen. Róisín Murphy has always been known for her strange music, beloved for it and for the fact that she’s not scared to push boundaries and do unexpected things. “Incapable” feels like a throwback to disco and music from other eras, but also like something modern that would be playing in a chic museum. It’s a song that invites you to get lost in its repetitive rhythms and in the singer’s drone and powerful vocals.

Rock

Bon Iver – Hey, Ma

RELATED: This Week’s Music: Sleater-Kinney, Rosalia And Camila Cabello

Although Bon Iver hasn’t released new music since 2016, front man Justin Vernon’s presence is never too far from the spotlight, making collaborations with other artists and producing great songs. Still, Bon Iver will always be his most successful project. On “Hey, Ma” you can see some of the staple sounds that have made the band what it is today, like the union of old school instruments and tech, enigmatic lyrics and auto tuned vocals. It all results in a song that will please fans even if it doesn’t show us anything new. No matter what, it’s always great to have Bon Iver back.

Pop

Jonas Brothers – Happy When I’m Sad

The Jonas Brothers’ comeback has been a big deal for millennials of all ages, especially those who grew up with a steady diet of Disney channel programing. Their much awaited album “Happiness Begins” is their fifth, and it follows a six year break. The Jonas Brothers are a boy band that appear to be different from the rest; instead of being a group of boys put together by some marketing machine because they’re cute and can sing, the siblings appear to be honest and genuine, a reason why so many fans are still there, eagerly waiting for their music. “Happy When I’m A Sad” is a sweet and catchy song with vulnerability to spare. It might even work for listeners who didn’t grow up listening to Disney channel songs.

Dogs Of Instagram: Great Dane

While its large size can be intimidating, the Great Dane is a gentle giant that is patient with both adults and children, making it a desirable pet for many families. With a stature measuring up to 32 inches tall and a weight exceeding 175 pounds, adopting a Great Dane is a serious commitment. It’s no wonder the breed is referred to as the “Apollo of Dogs”.

The world’s largest dog, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is Zeus the Great Dane from Otsego, MI, measuring 44 inches at the shoulder, and 7 feet 4 inches on his hind legs. Currently, the tallest Great Dane is a British bloke named Freddy.

Here, we take notice of the greatest of great Great Danes on Instagram.

Here’s Why Prince Harry Wanted To Marry A Celebrity

It can’t be easy being the spouse of a famous person, especially a royal like Prince Harry, where you’re required to adhere to a certain code of conduct and scrutinized constantly by outsiders.

That’s exactly why Prince Harry preferred to marry a celebrity — someone who was already used to being in the spotlight.

RELATED: Prince William Reveals The Dish He Loves To Cook

That’s according to his buddies by way of The Sunday Times, which reports that Harry was already contemplating a celeb collab way before Meghan Markle because he knew a plebeian wouldn’t likely be able to handle the pressure of being his Forever Plus One. It’s believed to be the main reason several of his prior relationships hit the skids.

And while he reportedly wasn’t looking for a famous girlfriend when he met Suits actress Markle, it was likely a check in the plus column. A “close source” of Harry’s tells the Times:

It makes sense that he has ended up with a celebrity… he feels comfortable being with someone who has already come to terms with the price of fame in the way that his other girlfriends never could.

And as The Daily Beast points out, during Markle and Harry’s first sit-down interview, she definitely down-played her celebrity, saying: “There’s a misconception that, because I worked in the entertainment industry, that this is something I would be familiar with. But even though I had been on my show for, I guess, six years at that point and working before that, I’ve never been part of tabloid culture. I’ve never been in pop culture to that degree and lived a relatively quiet life, even though I focus so much on my job.”

Threesome Apps Are Real, But Do They Work?

Threesomes are a big part of our culture but they’re kind of like big foot. We hear of them a lot but there’s just no tangible proof. Suggesting to have a threesome in real life screams of awkwardness for everyone involved, especially now in our digital age when communicating and being physical with each other is becoming harder and more sparse. It’s 2019 so naturally, apps had to jump in and facilitate these meetings.

RELATED: Science Says Polyamory May Lead To Happiness

There are quite a few apps that are threesome oriented. There’s Feeld, the artsy and elegant one out of the bunch, which advocates for fluidity and has some really cool Instagram posts. There’s 3Somer which is more straightforward, separating people into singles and couples and pairing one with the other. There’s also the personals Reddit thread, which, believe it or not, has become the new Craigslist, facilitating cuddle sessions, threesomes and everything in between. While uploading your own posting on the site sounds like jumping into shark infested waters, some brave people have achieved their goals.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BioQ6-NA2yw/

Elle magazine interviewed some couples on their threesome app experiences and found that they had a lot of things to say. One couple claimed that Feeld had facilitated over 10 successful threesomes. Another couple said that they’d been using 3some for years and still had no success. “It’s just a numbers game—the more feelers we have out there, the higher the chances of meeting others that we can play with,” they said.

Most people agree that looking for threesomes is a tough and time consuming process. The interested parties scouting for partners are often left unsatisfied since most of the app users are there out of curiosity. Another aspect that was mentioned several times is the fact that threesome apps are similar to dating apps when it comes to their success rate; there’s a lot of swiping and not a lot of face to face meetings. “[My husband and I] have talked to lots of women but haven’t actually met with any of them yet […] I’m a little disillusioned by these apps.”

RELATED: Here’s How Often People Are Having Sex

It seems like threesomes remain elusive, no matter how much digital help there is at our disposal. People still have to scout for them the old school way: by getting drunk with a friend and never speaking of it again, or else stumbling upon an orgy. Good luck.
