Drunk Russian Man Crashes Stolen Tank Into Supermarket

0

Russians have a reputation of doing bold, strange things, especially during the winter, and this story is the boldest, stupidest, and craziest one we’ve ever read.

According to LADbible, a man weathered the freezing Russian temperatures to steal a tank from a military training organization and to use it to crash into a supermarket. All so he could steal a bottle of wine. You know, we’re not critiquing your methods here, but there are easier ways to steal some liquor, Mr. Russian Man.

That man is still unidentified, but the incident occurred in Murmansk, a city located on the northwest of Russia, where the temperatures are extremely cold. According to authorities, the man stole the bottle, left the tank abandoned, and ran off. Sadly, he was quickly caught and couldn’t even drink his prize.

Authorities confirmed that the man was drunk before stealing the tank, making this the craziest and most regrettable thing anyone’s ever done under the influence of alcohol. This story will surely lift your spirits the next time you get drunk and do something stupid. Hey, at least you didn’t steal a Russian tank.

Weed Is Legal In Cali! Here’s A List of Fun Things to Do When You’re High

Cannabis is now legal to purchase for adult recreational consumption in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Nevada, and as of January 1, 2018, California—making the Golden State the largest marijuana marketplace in the world.

Retail cannabis shops in California opened their doors to long lines of cannabis enthusiasts on January 1 and have continued to do brisk business ever since. If you’re buying weed in California, be mindful of the fact that although anyone over 21 can buy and consume cannabis legally, you have to do so privately. No public puffing! Discreet edibles are the way to go if you’d like to get lifted when you’re out and about. Vaping is also less obvious than hotboxing your car—but remember, all public consumption is illegal as is driving under the influence.

Where To Buy Legal Weed

There are currently only a few places to shop for legal weed in Los Angeles. Currently, you can visit Alternative Healing Health Services, MedMen, Los Angeles Patients and Caregivers Group and Zen Healing, all located in West Hollywood, to make your pot purchase.

In San Diego, check out Mankind Cooperative, The Healing Center San Diego, A Green Alternative or Urbn Leaf. If you’re out in the desert looking for some mary jane, Desert Organic Solutions, Desert’s Finest and Palm Springs Safe Access, all in Palm Springs, are open for recreational pot sales. So is Green Pearl Organics in Desert Hot Springs.

What Superhero Did ‘Black Panther’ Almost Introduce Into The Marvel Universe?

From the inception of its production, it seemed like there was no limit on what Black Panther and director Ryan Coogler could do. An all-star cast including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, and more? Check. A soundtrack produced by rap label powerhouse TDE, that prominently features hip hop’s innovative force of nature, a.k.a. Kendrick Lamar? Check. Set all-time advance ticket sales and be projected to establish a new opening weekend sales record for a superhero movie? Check.

With all the movie has already accomplished, it’s almost surprising any ideas might be left on the cutting room floor. Yet Coogler revealed to CinemaBlend this week that there was one superhero he wanted to introduce into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but couldn’t fit him in. Who might that be? Patriot, otherwise known as Elijah Bradley.

“Crazy enough, for comic book fans, we toyed with the character Patriot for a little bit,” Coogler told CinemaBlend. “Early on we were interested to get our hands on him, Joe [Robert Cole] and I, but that ended up going away so we could focus on Wakanda a little more.”

Those who aren’t readers of modern Captain America comic books might not know Patriot and his compelling backstory. Allow CinemaBlend to fill you in.

Via CinemaBlend:

For those unfamiliar with the character, Patriot was first created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung for the 2005 series Young Avengers, and was introduced as the descendent of Isaiah Bradley—one of only a few soldiers to survive horrific super soldier experiments during World War II (a Marvel parallel to the real-life Tuskegee experiments). He’s a great character with many fantastic twists in his arc, but he also has zero association with Wakanda or Black Panther, which explains why Ryan Coogler ultimately decided not to include him in the Black Panther movie.

Comic books are notorious for shoehorning a popular or lovable character into a narrative arc they have no business being in. This is, in some way, the entire strategy of Marvel’s major comic book events like Civil War and others, which heavily entices fans, but often limits the storytelling quality.

So credit for Coogler for demonstrating that restraint. It’s also worth noting that every other notable character in Black Panther was there since the beginning.

“The ones that you see were kind of always there. M’Baku, Killmonger, T’Challa, Nakia, Okoye, Shuri, Ramonda, Klaue, Everett Ross… they were always in every draft,” Coogler said. “So we had to make sure that they all had arcs, and it had something to do with that.”

Meghan Markle And Kate Middleton Are On Their Way To Becoming BFFs

In May, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle will officially be in-laws. But already, they are becoming fast friends.

People spoke to several of those close to Kate, including a source from her hometown of Bucklebury, England, who says, “I’m sure Kate will do all she can to help Meghan.” The Princess has been mentoring Meghan during her transition into the royal family.

As People notes, Meghan will have a bit more breathing room, seeing as how she is not poised to become the Queen anytime soon, unlike Kate, whose husband William is second in line to the throne. With the couple’s third child due in April, William’s brother, Harry, will now be sixth in line.

And even though Kate and Meghan, both 36, grew up in wildly different upbringings — Kate on the English countryside and Meghan in Los Angeles — both have reportedly bonded while being neighbors at Kensington Palace. Plus, both women fell in love with a Prince.

A source close to Meghan tells People that the actress, who is learning her new role on the job, “is funny and serious and extremely hard-working.”
I can imagine Kate will find a great friend in her.
According to Harry, Kate has been fantastic to Meghan during their courtship and even considers Kate the big sister he never had. Sounds like the best in-law relationship ever.

The Legal Cannabis Industry Brought In $9 Billion Last Year

Nine states and the District of Columbia have legalized recreational cannabis and 30 states have legalized medical use. Combined they brought in around $9 billion in sales last year and created over 100,000 jobs.

To put it simply, the industry is rocking, the people have spoken and there is no reason left for marijuana to remain illegal at the Federal level.

When Attorney General Jeff Sessions rescinded the Cole Memo with its protections against Federal prosecution, he was hoping for a maelstrom across the states. There has been some scrambling, but it wasn’t for the riot gear; it was to figure out compliance, production, how to keep the community safe and how best to move forward.

Stepping into that future and leaving reefer madness in the dust, is precisely what the movement is doing. Numbers don’t lie and with stats coming in from BDS Analytics, which tracks the pot industry, it looks like the cannabis dominion already rivals the Pampers’ diaper empire. Plus, with California going fully legal, the marketplace is expected to go from $9 to $11 billion this year and to $21 billion in 2021.

Keith Stroup, who founded the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), had this to say about Sessions and his big talk: “The only thing you could really do to put the genie back in the bottle, is just start arresting everybody. But I can’t see it leading to some massive crackdown. That just seems like political disaster for the administration.”

And indeed it does. It’s not just the US that’s ramping up its weed game. Canada is legalizing the plant nationally by July of this year. According to Forbes, while the US currently has 90 percent of the legal global cannabis market, that share should fall to 57 percent by 2020. This is projected in great part because of Canada’s moves, but also because countries in Europe and Latin America are also liberalizing their laws. In Germany, political parties are discussing recreational legalization as they consider forming a coalition government.

Mariuana’s momentum is spreading like wildfire, not only on our own soil, but to farther reaches of the world. Science and activism, persistence and resilience, love and caring: these have all attributed to the current, flourishing landscape. Here’s to the next five years of growth and, hopefully, to the descheduling of cannabis completely in the US. It only makes sense.

How California’s Legal Weed Caused Marijuana To Grow Up

When California launched its fully-legal recreational marijuana market at the beginning of 2018, there wasn’t as much noise surrounding the event as heard in other legal states.

That’s because marijuana has been considered legal there for the past 20 years. In some circles, California’s loose medical marijuana program was considered vastly superior to the recreational marijuana scene in spots like Colorado. Nevertheless, the voters in the Golden State approved a fully-legal market in 2016, essentially making medical marijuana cards absolute for all adults 21 and over.

One of the primary reasons advocates pushed for a fully-legal market was to stop police from busting thousands of people across the state for weed. The law now dictates that pot possession is legal and many people convicted of this offense, in the past, are now getting the opportunity to have their records cleared.

The legalization of recreational marijuana is allowing the industry to grow, too. As the New Yorker said in a recent piece, “gone are the purple bongs, sexy nurses, dancing bears. In place of these skanky, skunky holdovers is an array of alluring products whose seduction lies in their eminently rational design.”

There will always be those customers who prefer smoking marijuana, but cannabis companies, like Dosist and MedMen, are developing more socially acceptable products for the legal stoner. Products ranging from disposable vape pens to edibles to liquids are becoming more prevalent.  By all accounts, “the new consumer (or the old consumer, reimagined) is not zonked in a La-Z-Boy watching Wayne’s World with a bag of chips,” but rather someone who can allow marijuana to be a part of their “therapeutic” routine without having concerns of law enforcement hassles.

But edible THC-infused products are in a transition phase. After Colorado legalized for recreational use in 2014, there were reports are children getting their hands on potent THC gummies. Emergency room visits by both young and old also became more common. People who purchased these products simply didn’t understand dosage. State lawmakers eventually brought forward restriction on how cannabis edibles could be produced and sold.

When California approved its recreational market, it automatically put manufacturing restrictions on cannabis edibles in an effort to make them less attractive to kids.

But California’s edible marijuana market goes beyond gummies and other THC-infused dime store candies. Some companies, like Lord Jones, are working to make “good nutrition relevant and chic.” This brand is focused on producing cannabis edibles that are high in the non-intoxicating compound cannabidiol (CBD), which creates a body high without the stoned effects.

In addition to the retail scene, cannabis-infused cocktails and juices are also becoming more popular all over the state.

But the industry is still volatile. Although California is now the largest cannabis market in the United States, the federal government still considers all of this activity illegal.

In fact, the Department of Justice recently rescinded an Obama-era memo that has allowed states to “experiment” with marijuana legalization without much federal interference. No one with certain what U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will do next with respect to legal weed. Most are not even worried. The state’s pot economy has an estimated value of $7 billion. It is expected the state could see $1 billion in annual tax revenue. So, if Sessions does come in with all guns blazing, he’s definitely going to have a fight on his hands.

SF Will Erase Thousands Of Past Marijuana Convictions In Unprecedented Move

When Californians voted yes on Prop 64—which legalized recreational marijuana usage and sales in the state—it also allowed those with past marijuana convictions to petition courts to dismiss or reduce their cases.

But now in an unprecedented move, San Francisco won’t leave the decision as each person. Instead the city announced this week it would apply those laws to all past marijuana-related cases and will either remove or reduce individuals’ convictions. District Attorney George Gascón said the city’s efforts will stretch back decades.

Those with past marijuana convictions are often labeled with criminal histories that impede them from jobs or government benefits. The San Francisco Chronicle estimates this move will benefit thousands among city residents.

Via SF Chronicle:

“The district attorney said his office will dismiss and seal more than 3,000 misdemeanor marijuana convictions in San Francisco dating back to 1975. Prosecutors will also review and, if necessary, re-sentence 4,940 felony marijuana cases, Gascón said.”

[…]

“According to the Drug Policy Alliance, nearly 5,000 people statewide have petitioned courts to have their marijuana convictions expunged since Prop. 64 took effect. In San Francisco, however, fewer than two dozen people have done so, Gascón said.”

Gascón believes his office is the first in the state to enact such a policy. He understands it will involve a lot of clerical work, but hopes that it will encourage others to follow San Francisco’s lead.

“We’re hoping what we are doing here will not only benefit San Francisco,” he told the Chronicle. “We’re hoping other elected officials around the state will say this is the right thing to do.”

California’s legal cannabis market is expected to generate $5.2 billion in revenue in its first year of sales.

Ron Paul: Jeff Sessions Should Resign Over Marijuana Policies

It appears Ron Paul wants to join the growing party of those disgruntled and frustrated by Jeff Sessions in the political sphere. Paul called on Sessions to “step down” last month, after the attorney general announced he would rescind the Obama-era policies that protected states with legalized marijuana from federal prosecution.

Paul called Sessions’ action “unconstitutional” and that Americans should decide whether they want legalized marijuana, not the government.

“He represents something that is so un-American, as far as I’m concerned,” Paul told CNN.

“The war on drugs, to me, is a war on liberty. I think that we overly concentrate on the issue of the drug itself, and I concentrate on the issue of freedom of choice, on doing things that are of high risk,” he said. “And we permit high risk all the time. … Generally, we allow people to eat what they want, and that is very risky. But we do overly concentrate on what people put into their bodies.”

The Texas libertarian also discussed the issue of when the government tries to protect us from ourselves, which strikes against Paul’s notions of liberty. We allow people to choose what they eat, which can be very risky, Paul said.

For the record, he doesn’t believe Sessions will be successful. Not because the government will listen to the people, but because state governments want the lucrative tax revenue legal marijuana can bring.

“I predict that Sessions is not going to be victorious on this,” Paul stated. “And unfortunately, it’s for reasons that I don’t get excited about,” he added. “It’s because the states want to collect all of those taxes [on marijuana], so it becomes this tax issue.”
