‘Beautiful People’ Dating Site Releases List Of ‘Ugly’ Physical Traits

Beautiful People is a dating site that aims to offer their services to beautiful people only. Uglies need not apply. Launched in 2002, the site recently released a list of features and traits deemed “ugly” by its members.

There are two lists, one for men and one for women. Some of the most popular entries on both include poor grooming, bad skin, and weird facial features. Women say their biggest turnoff is “effeminate” behavior, while men prioritize women’s figures, having little tolerance for women who have no shape or curves.

The Mirror has listed all of the ugly traits for both sexes. Buckle up!

Top 10 ‘ugliest’ features according to women:

  1. Bad mouth — too small, no lips, poor teeth
  2. Obese/overweight
  3. Too short
  4. Bad skin
  5. Un-groomed facial or body hair — unibrow, nose hairs, wild beard, excessive back hair
  6. Crooked, large or otherwise ugly nose
  7. Balding or unkempt hair (not specifically styled that way)
  8. Bad posture
  9. Dirty or long nails or both
  10. Too skinny/scrawny/effeminate

Top 10 ‘ugliest’ features according to men:

  1. Obese/ overweight
  2. Eyes too far apart or close together or wonky
  3. Big/unsightly nose
  4. Bad skin
  5. Poor figure (No shape, curves)
  6. No butt, too much butt
  7. ThinFat — Skinny but; no body tone
  8. Bad mouth/teeth — too small, no lips, poor teeth
  9. Bad makeup (too much makeup, makeup not correctly applied)
  10. Unibrow, no plucking, too much plucking

Managing editor and founder Greg Hodge explains to The Mirror that most of the negative trains on these lists are just surface features, leaving room for improvement: “So many of the ugly traits listed are easily fixable, which means potentially there is a bigger market of beautiful people out there.” Interestingly enough, when the site was first released, Hodge was kicked out of it because he wasn’t considered beautiful enough.

Despite making headlines last year for offering rejected members plastic surgery consults, Hodge believes that the purpose of his site is a noble one. “Beautiful People members, through a democratic rating system, filter out the undesirables, in order to keep their dating community beautiful,” he told The Mirror.

While Hodge seems like a very annoying man, you can take some satisfaction in knowing that he is still too ugly to have a spot on his own website.

Karen Flips Out On Legal Cannabis Consumers

Seems they are everywhere…now a Karen flips out on legal cannabis consumers. The path to ignorance is paved with misguided intentions. This Karen thought she was doing a good deed.  According to the local police blotter posted by The Union, Nevada County’s local newspaper, this unnamed person smelled some pungent reefer wafting down the street and decided to call 911 about it.

Yes, someone called the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office on weed smokers in California, where marijuana has been recreationally legal since 2018. Curiously, it’s also legal for adult use in the two closest states to Nevada county: Oregon and Nevada state. And so police politely informed the Cali caller of this fact, which they weren’t happy about at all.

RELATED: Marijuana Problems Only New Yorkers Will Understand

“A caller near Banner Mountain Trail and Gracie Road reported three people smoking marijuana,” reads the police blotter. “The caller became irate when they learned marijuana was legalized in California.”

Somehow this wasn’t even the most ridiculous call police received in the area that night! That award goes to this caller “on Gracie Road, near Dorcelline Court, [who] reported that someone yelled at the caller because a friend told a loose dog to go home.”

Just a friendly reminder that police deal with some real goofy shit. Next time before calling the police, I don’t call, Google if weed’s legal where you are first? Would save everyone involved a lot of trouble.

Karen is a pejorative term used as slang typically for a middle-class white woman who is perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal. The term is often portrayed in memes depicting middle-class white women who “use their white and class privilege to demand their own way”. Depictions include demanding to “speak to the manager”, being racist, or wearing a particular bob cut hairstyle.

Meghan Markle Was Rushed To Hospital Despite Plan For A Home Birth

Even the best laid plans go awry, even if you’re a royal. Meghan Markle was rumored to be preparing for a home birth, but now reports are surfacing that she was instead rushed to the hospital Sunday night by Harry and his security detail.

Why? We don’t know yet. Maybe she was being induced? She was about a week late, after all.

Meghan was taken to a private London hospital, most likely the Portland, according to The Daily Mail, where both Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were born.

The Daily Mail reports that Meghan remained in the hospital overnight before her baby was born at 5:26 a.m. Monday morning and that her stay was so stealth, not even senior royals were informed.

Meanwhile, Harry’s brother William told the press today that he is “absolutely thrilled” over the birth of his first nephew. And said he’s happy to welcome his brother into the “Sleep Deprivation Society.”

Consider Marijuana For Mother’s Day Gift

0

In exchange for the traditional flowers and breakfast in bed, more moms would happily accept a less conventional type of gift for Mother’s Day this year. Despite the gender gap in the movement to legalize marijuana — 68% of men support legalization while only 56% of women do — we’ve got data that suggests many mothers feel pretty dang comfortable with the idea of a cannabis gift this year.

If you run in the mommy crowd or are friends with many moms online, it’s nearly impossible to make it through a day without some kind of reference to “wine o’clock.” There are rising concerns about this attitude that mom needs alcohol to survive daily life. One mother, Claire Gillespie, shared in a essay for Self that her own sobriety showed her that a bottle of wine after bathtime was replacing the development of real coping skills and self-care practices, and putting her and many mothers at risk for addiction.

RELATED: If Cannabis Addiction Is Real, How Many People Are Affected?

So what does this have to do with weed? We find it interesting that drinking among mothers is largely accepted while cannabis is not, despite the fact that marijuana use comes with a lower risk for addiction than alcohol. Add to that the fact that no deaths have been linked to weed while alcohol is to blame for 88,000 deaths each year and cannabis seems like a pretty great alternative.

Legalization of marijuana in some states and access to legal THC-free cannabis products with CBD in every state could be freeing more mothers to use cannabis products in an enjoyable and responsible way. Additionally, the mothers featured in a piece for Babble note that microdosing is more their thing; they’re using small amounts of marijuana for relief from anxiety and postpartum mood disorders without getting high, which allows them to keep on doing the mom thing safely and effectively.

So, what cannabis products are moms interested in most? It’s all about self-care.

Data from LeafLink, shared over email with The Fresh Toast, suggests that topicals are high on mom’s wish list when Mother’s Day rolls around. In 2018, they witnessed a 306% increase in the overall market share on Mother’s Day. Some of their bestselling topical products include Body Balm by Nordic Goddess and Muscle Freeze CBD by Mary’s Medicinals.

According to Headset, a data analytics provider in the cannabis industry, the other categories of cannabis products experiencing a massive boost on this weekend in 2018 include a wide variety of items that have us picturing mom getting a little peace and quiet this year. We love that mothers are using their their big day to relax with cannabis bath balms and soak, chocolates, elixirs, and mixes. Beverages like teas, coffee, and cocoa also see a big boost around Mother’s Day and Pre-Rolls were up by 7% on Mother’s Day in 2018.

HBO Responds To ‘Game of Thrones’ Starbucks Cup; Brad Pitt Laughs Off Jen Anniston Romance Question

HBO Responds to Game of Thrones Coffee Cup

Via Esquire:

Eagle-eyed viewers of Game of Thrones noticed a modern-day to-go coffee cup sitting near Daenerys in a scene from the fourth episode of Season Eight.

Our theory is that actress Emilia Clarke is the owner of the coffee cup, which must have indeed been coffee, although likely not from Starbucks by the looks of it.

Game of Thrones art director Hauke Richter told Variety that the mistake had been “blown out of proportion.”

“Things can get forgotten on set,” he wrote.

Now HBO has responded to the infamous cup with a statement that reads:

“The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

Brad Pitt played it coy when asked if he and  Jennifer Aniston would get back together

Via Radar Online:

Pitt, 55, was out and about in Los Angeles on May 3 when the question to the star was caught on camera.

The good-natured actor’s response?

“Oh my god,” he said with a laugh and smile before adding, “Alright, have a good one!”

As RadarOnline.com recently reported, Pitt was caught celebrating Aniston’s fiftieth birthday with her at the Sunset Towers in February.

Aniston and Pitt were Hollywood’s golden couple until their divorce in 2005, the result of the World War Z star cheating with his now-estranged ex, Angelina Jolie.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ And ‘Game Of Thrones’ Highlight What’s Wrong About Spoiler Culture

Last Sunday I had a late flight, making me miss a pivotal “Game of Thrones” episode. The minute the plane landed, I decided to cut myself off from all social media outlets, at least until the following Monday night when I had the time to catch up on the show. For an entire day I was walking to and fro with my headphones on, terrified of accidentally hearing someone’s conversation or of catching a glimpse of a spoiler on someone’s laptop.

Big cultural moments like the conclusion of the decade-long Avengers saga or the eight years we’ve spent crying and cheering over the fate of Starks and Targaryens have brought spoilers to the forefront of everyone’s minds. Our constant presence online only heightens this paranoia.

Spoilers have always existed, but it’s only recently that creators have started to comment on these issues, releasing heartfelt statements that beg people to protect their intended experience, as if a spoiler was enough to make or break something that has been years in the making.

This month is an exemplary one for spoiler culture and all that’s wrong with it. A week ago, a man in Hong Kong was beat up after watching Avengers: Endgame and loudly discussing key parts of the plot while standing outside the movie theater. Granted, that’s a very annoying thing to do, but it’s still shocking that it’s even happening in the first place.

Studios and developers behind these monster franchises have some responsibility over this problem. HBO and Marvel have ensured that their marketing relies on misdirection and spoilers, cleverly guiding viewers a little off the mark in order to pull the rug from them the minute they sit down to watch the final product. If you’re unlucky enough to stumble upon a spoiler, then your viewing experience is a different one, diminished in a way.

Knowing a key moment of a film or a show shouldn’t make or break your entire experience of it. By that criteria, no one should continue to enjoy Star Wars or the Harry Potter movies. Good storytelling should rely on more than a twist, but audiences and creators seem to be forgetting that, focusing on the big shock instead of consuming and making stuff that’s compelling despite all of the noise.

Weed Makes Seth Rogen ‘So Smart, So Focused, So Creative,’ Say Charlize Theron

Anyone who’s ever enjoyed a smoke session in a college dorm room likely had a philosopher guy in their group. He was the dude who, as soon as he lit up, would begin rhapsodizing about Nietzsche or the consequences of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Memorably, this moment was captured in Richard Linklater’s 2016 film Everybody Wants Some!!

“What is language? Language is a construct man, you know,” says Wyatt Russell’s Willoughby in the film, like he’s the first guy who ever said this ever.

In Hollywood circles that guy is apparently Seth Rogen, according to Charlize Theron. During an appearance on The Tonight Show to promote the pair’s new rom-com Long Shot, Fallon unsurprisingly brought up Rogen’s weed habits. “He comes across as a stoner but he really puts a lot of thought into everything,” said Fallon.

RELATED: Why Does Seth Rogen Hate Marijuana Edibles?

Theron went on to praise Rogen’s understanding of story structure and writing, adding, “and then he lit a joint and took a hit off it. And it was like I was in the presence of Einstein. It was off the charts.”

Apparently when Rogen smokes weed, “he gets so smart, he gets so focused, he gets so creative. On days I would literally follow him and [beg him,] ‘Please smoke. We need a hit. We need this movie to be great, please.’”

So to all you wise guy stoners at there, you should now recognize Seth Rogen as your philosopher king. Or something like that.

Is CBD Effective In Treating Toothaches

The effect of cannabidiol (CBD) has been widely embraced by all sorts of industries for the compound’s ability to provide relief against inflammation, pain, skin afflictions and stress. There’s a substantial amount of evidence that suggests CBD could also help people cope with tooth aches and dental afflictions.

While there have been no studies that look into the specific relationship between tooth aches and CBD, there is a lot of evidence — both anecdotal and scientific — that documents CBD’s power against inflammation, pain and bacteria, which are all important factors when it comes to dental health.

One study looking into cannabinoids with anti-inflammatory properties a lot of positive effects to CBD, being capable of controlling pro-inflammatory cells and reducing swelling and pain. Another study found antibacterial properties on CBD oil, making it capable of killing staphylococci and streptococci bacteria, both responsible for spreading infections and diseases.

Green Flower Botanicals says that full spectrum hemp oil has also been linked with pain relief, putting a temporary stop on tooth aches, stating that “when it comes to pain related to inflammation, hemp oil is one of the safest and most potent healing tools at your disposal.”

Dental surgeon Mark Burhenne says he recommends CBD oil for some of his patients to  calm the anxiety that comes with a visit to the dentist and speeding up the healing process of those who underwent dental surgery. “Besides relieving “going to the dentist anxiety,” I suggest my patients use CBD oil for pain, which is often caused by inflammation from dental work. CBD is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory compounds in the world and generally causes zero side effects. You can’t say that about any medication prescribed for pain!” he explains.

RELATED: Is Medical Marijuana Harmful To Dental Health?

While all of this evidence paints a great picture for CBD and oral health, it’s important to remember that no official studies have been conducted and that negative side effects have been found. For example, smoking marijuana has long been related to dry mouth, an issue that prevents the production of regular amounts of saliva. When it comes to mouth wounds, saliva is extremely important for the healing process, maintaining bacterial growth under control and contributing to gum and teeth health.

Jim Belushi: Marijuana Would’ve Saved My Brother

Jim Belushi’s transformation into a blue-collar weed farmer over the past couple years renders as one of the more intriguing instances of celebrities entering the cannabis industry. Other high-minded stars who also have become marijuana moguls like Snoop Dogg, Seth Rogen, or even Willie Nelson have been loud and proud about their cannabis love for decades-plus.

But Belushi’s more subdued, underground, content to run his weed farm without any special attention. Only after two years of market testing and careful curation selling his weed, did Belushi even decide to put his name on his product. And Jim believes that product could’ve saved the life of his brother, comedian and “SNL” powerhouse John Belushi.

“I think what we know about marijuana today, if we knew in the ’70s, a lot more people would be alive, including my brother,” Jim Belushi told The Stranger. “Danny Aykryod said, ‘If your brother John was a pothead he would be alive today.’”

“The medicine of marijuana will help prevent the collapse of families,” he added. “I came from a collapsed family and the trauma of John’s death, you could imagine, and I’ve always been in search of family because of it. And this family of marijuana cannabis people is a terrific family. They’re all being led by the plant.”

Belushi also admitted he’s actively trying to separate his canna-business from what the rest of celebrities who get into the industry. Though that takes more time, he believes it’s worth it in the long run.

“The difference between me and the men you just mentioned, all beautiful men by the way, is they are white labeling,” he said. “I am growing it. I am curing it. I am flushing out the irrigation to make sure the ash is white. I’m pruning it, I’m trimming it. And now I’m marketing it.”

Belushi’s also a strong advocate for the plant as medicine in people’s lives. While he only smokes his vape pen three times a week—though he uses CBD daily—Belushi doesn’t shy away from his belief that cannabis can assist in way not immediately apparent to those looking at the cannabis world from the outside-in.

“The wellness of cannabis is great for helping Alzheimer’s, people struggling with PTSD, people struggling with trauma,” he said. “The number one fear of life is death and the second is the collapse of family. Many people come from collapsed families, whether it’s divorce or a disease in the family that broke the family up, whether there’s a death like in my family, a loss of business, all of these people need some kind of medicine.”

Using CBD To Cope With Festival Anxiety

For the 18% of Americans dealing with an anxiety disorder, stressful situations can trigger intense and difficult to manage symptoms. While an individual with ochlophobia — an irrational, debilitating fear of crowds — may choose to avoid festival season altogether, this level of fear only affects a small number of people. But what about using CBD to cope with festival anxiety.

Instead, there are many individuals who have moderate anxiety who don’t want their mental health disorder to limit how they experience the world; they want to attend music festivals, but they want to be able to chill out enough to enjoy themselves.

Some might reach for marijuana, but this honestly isn’t the right choice for everyone. It is pretty well know that THC can actually make anxiety and paranoia worse in a small group of people. This means that, if you know this is how weed affects you, you should probably avoid it during festival season. And, if you’ve never actually tried to marijuana in a large crowd and you’re not sure how you will respond, it might be better to avoid trying it for the first time in a triggering situation like a music festival.

Manage Anxiety Without the High

The good news is that there is another cannabis product that can be use to manage anxiety. Cannabidiol doesn’t create a high like most marijuana products, but still has many impressive medicinal benefits. One such benefit is decreasing the symptoms of anxiety.

RELATED: 7 CBD Skincare Products That Will Change Everything

In 2011, research published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology observed a significant improvement in anxiety caused by public speaking. Additionally, a 2019 animal study observed showed improvement in the behaviors associated with anxiety in rats who were dosed with CBD.

More studies of the effect of CBD on anxiety are in the future. Until then, there is convincing anecdotal evidence that this a product that is effective in many individuals with anxiety. In 2018, a Cannabis and Cannabinoid study found that anxiety reduction is one the top three reason individuals use CBD regularly. In this anonymous survey, 36% of respondents said that CBD “worked very well” for their intended purpose when taken alone.

How Does CBD Work?

Like so many areas of cannabis research, we don’t know as much as we would like to about how CBD improves anxiety. We hope that the legalization of marijuana and further education will reduce the stigma associated with these products and encourage more research in the future.

For now, what we know about the relationship between anxiety and CBD is that CBD effects how the brain responds to serotonin. This neurotransmitter plays an important role in mood management, which is the basis of SSRIs commonly used to treat anxiety and depression.

Specifically, CBD seems to improve how a serotonin neurotransmitter called 5-HT1A is processed in the brain. Although these effect has only been observed in rats so far, the hope is that human studies will soon follow and mimic the same results.

Finding the Right Dosage of CBD for Anxiety

Because there are variations in the strength of CBD present in different products, it’s a good idea to start with a small dose. Many products do have a recommended dose, and this is a good place to start. One Medium resource connects CBD dosage with body weight, saying that a suggested dosage can be calculated by taking 1 to 6 mgs of CBD for every 10 pounds.

RELATED: Topical CBD: The FDA Stance On Hemp Derived CBD In Cosmetics

The good news is that there are few side effects associated with CBD and it consider to be very safe for consumption. This means that most people can make adjustments to their dosage until they experience relief. That being said, one sign that you’re taking too much CBD is that you begin to experience side effects like fatigue or diarrhea.

Because it might take a few tries to find the right about CBD, we recommend trying it for the first time before you head to an event that triggers anxiety. Give yourself time to find what works for you so you can relax and enjoy yourself at your next music festival.
